My small dog doesn’t let me cut his nails anymore, and paying for them to be cut every month was a pain. This did the trick! He doesn’t mind it after a few seconds and I’m able to smooth them down close to the pink of his nails without hurting him compared to clippers. The only thing is that the speed and power isn’t the best, which just means it’ll take a bit longer to get all the nails filed. If your dog is patient with treats, then this is great!

Good product and very quiet–however, we cant use it our cats…only our Chihuahua. We use this to round his nails after they’re clipped. I really wanted to take the steps needed to get our (now) 8-month cat and 7-year old cat used to this so that we could use it them, but the oldest is set in her ways and, no matter how hard we tried, the youngest was too freaked out by the noise and vibration. He was young enough that he took to wearing a collar and bell just fine (some people review collars and bells and complain that it drives their cats nuts…I just dont think they leave them them long enough for the cats to get used to them), but this has been a no-go. The oldest is just too skittish by nature. We basically got shredded by the teen kitty and bled a lot the first few times we tried using this (even when we held it by the scruff…their ability to maneuver their limbs is ing!). Great product and havent har any issues with it. Grinds well…especially with the safety cap off. 🙂

Didn’t matter the size of nail it didn’t grind them down very good. I have two dogs one small about 13 pounds and one Medium about 35 pounds. I could see this being used as a way to smooth the nail after cutting them but not to grind down the nail itself. It would take way too long for that. I also noticed like with any grinding process the large amount of heat the was being produced. This in itself could cause damage as well as injury if you held the nail to long to the grinder. I could also smell the burning nail. Not a very pleasant smell. I am returning this item. Not worth the cost of the purchase.

I’ll update this review if we can get him to get used to the grinder, but at the moment, my dog hates this with a fiery passion. This product is small and somewhat quiet, and I like that it’s usb chargeable. The groomer will use a grinder his nails, but when we try this at home he flips out. I tried it gently one of my own fingernails and hated the feeling, so I don’t blame him.

I am glad I purchased this grinder. I watched a video demonstratiabout the top nail grinders and their pros and cons. I like that it is quiet, it makes the work quick, painless, and way less stressful. I almost bought one sight unseen at a local store and I am glad I didn’t turns out the other one was one of the loudest ones available and that would have not been pleasant for my dog.

My one-year-old Jack Russel mutt mix is crazy hyper to say the least. I had been taking her to get her nails trimmed at a local pet store. The last time I took her, the groomer clipped her nails so short that my dog bit at her and cried for a few days. I was distraught and felt like a terrible dog mom. After that were were blacklisted from the local pet store and told not to come back. I didn’t know what to do. Her nails are thick and pitch black. I was so frustrated day, and so I ordered this. At first, she was not happy. With the help of her father, we kept her calm. It took about 20 minutes, but her quality of life improved immensely. The battery lasted for the entire trimming and it was very easy to use. There was no way to keep her still enough to trim with the guard, but it was so easy without! This is going to save me so many tears and dollars in the future!

I have used a Pedi-Paws unit with my dog for years and went through tons of C batteries, etc… This was great. Small and VERY quiet. The grinding stone is fast and efficient. I am over the mowith this, and my old cairn terrier gets done quicker with less stress. Plus it’s rechargeable and never needs a replacement head?If you must look for one con, there’s no catcher for doggy nail dust, so you may want to do it the back porch.Great little unit that does it’s job quickly and efficiently. Extremely happy with this purchase. Much better value than my old system, and less stressful my dogs. Highly recommended.

Have only had this a few days now but it has been awesome! I’ve used Dremel and Oster grinders which are large, cumbersome, and loud. This little thing is itty bitty, super quiet, and makes very little vibration. As a result, it’s easy to use and the only issue my pups have is the nail stuff, like holding a foot/toe awkwardly, instead of the grinder’s noise and vibratibeing an issue.Totally recommend this for larger dogs (mine are up to 60#s) and for smaller dogs (including a little 10# po pupp)

I have a 10 yrs old Shih-tzu and I have been doing the grooming myself for 2 yrs now. My biggest challenge and fear was cutting his nails. After making him bleed the 2nd times, I had to stop using the clipper! I was happy to found this pet nail Grinder after doing some internet search.I tried it right away after it arrived. OMG, it worked ing! Wished I had knew/found this grinder long ago. Best purchase ever!

Great for small/medium dogs. Don’t think it’s substantial enough for larger dogs like shepherds and such. Was very skeptical at first because she attacks vacuums, hair dryers or anything that makes noise… This is Super quiet, about a loud as 1 of those small hair trimmers that run batteries. It does take time to use though. It makes their nails get hot if used more than a few seconds at a time. ( I tried my own nails first so I knew about how long I could safely use it my dog.)My dog hates nail clippers and its always a wrestling match ..BUT NOT WITH THIS.!! She stands right there and lets me use it. Her nails are long so I have been hitting each nail a few seconds every evening.Love the fact that its USB rechargeable.

I was a little concerned that my pup (6 mos old Aussie …bit of a fidget) would pull away the first nail, surprisingly it didn’t bother her. Fairly quiet operation, smooth stone does not grab or make a dentists grinder noise, takes the nail down w control, not to fast, easily round off sharp edges. Unit is plastic but seems solid enough for occasional home use. I’ll update if any issues pop up, so far it works as expected.

Nail cutting my corgi’s nails has always been a struggle. He hates it so he squirms, nips, and cries loudly. Usually, I take him to the vet to have them put a muzzle him and hold him in order to clip his nails. This nail grinder is quiet and moves smoothly across the nail. My dog seems to enjoy having his nails done with it. He just lies his back with his feet in the air and lets me grind his nails down. I massage him with the grinder turned (with the cap on) before I start his nails so he isn’t afraid of the vibration.

I read a lot of reviews this product but I have to admit that I really like this product. I have a large dog (Lab) and this product works wonders. No issues, very quiet, pain free, easy nail trimming/grinding experience. I also have an easy dog to work with the only complaint I have ever received from Buster (our lab) was a very deep sigh and yawn.

At first my little Chi-Beagle hated it, after a week he tolerates only a half-second per session, but that’s an improvement, and I am reading up the best training ideas to keep him calm while I buzz the heck out of his paws. That initial buzzing shock must be intense but with training can be overcome. Don’t waste your money cheaper units, or trying to convert your existing rotary tool for this job – just buy this one. My pup-pup is short haired and I can nuzzle him all around with the tool without catching or pulling any hair off. It is very quiet but still takes training to tolerate. Decent quality, solid unit.

This works great! The last time I took my dog to the vet they cut his nails too short and it hurt him. He was a little scared of it at first, but my boyfriend held him and he did fine! Now, I do not have to worry about hurting him and can do this at home instead of taking him to the vet every 2 months.

Mine is very slow to grind down even when using the bigger hole. I ended up having to use the clippers, but then I used this to round the edges. My pup is very scared of getting her nails trimmed, so I was very disappointed I had to use the clippers.

We are first time dog owners and very scared to clip our pups nails. We bought this and regular clippers to see which one we, and our callie girl, would prefer. I was to scared to use the clippers so we started with this first! She was scared for all of 2 seconds before she laid down and let us get to work. Saved up a lot of time and I’m sure Callie is happy we didn’t hurt her by clipping too short too! Also love that it recharges so easily!

Loved everything about this product. But the big selling point for me, was the silence. I’m lucky that my Lab whom I’ve had since 8 weeks, totally trusts me, and my boys nails got a bit unrulely. I’ve never cut his nails or anything..normally when I get him groomed they take care of all that. This tool I wasn’t even sure it was in till I heard it connect with the nail.Great item!!

  19. Rated 4 out of 5

Great product. I have a black dog with very thick, long black nails, and I am petrified of trimming them myself. This works very well in that it grinds the nail down. My dog is about 75lbs, and the opening for the rotating sander is rather small, so it’s a bit of a challenge to get the nail trimmed efficiently–you have to strategically rotate the grinder. It would probably work awesome for dogs with thinner (in width) nails, but it’s alright for my dog with thick nails. Also–it takes forever to grind one nail, and the smell of dog nail dust is awful–but yes, it’s a fantastic alternative to cutting your dog’s quick and having to deal with the guilt associated with the fact you made your dog bleed. I’d recommend.

We decided to try this for our Chihuahuas, one of whom is very afraid of having his nails trimmed. I am so happy that I purchased this nail grinder! It has paid for itself in only 2 uses, rather than having to take my dogs to the groomer (which I do not want to do, as it just causes even more fear). I gave them both a good chance to see the grinder and turned it for them and let them hear it before using it, and carefully let them investigate it, so that they would not be afraid. It is much quieter than others I have tried. This allows me to trim their nails without pain or fear. We love it! It charges easily and quickly and even came with enough of a charge to try it out right away. I am very happy with the quality of this grinder as well. My dogs are very happy too, and nail trimming time is now much less stressful for all of us!

My little girl absolutely hates getting her nails clipped. She would run when she saw the clippers and would scream like you were murdering her and no I wasn’t hitting her veins or anything. So I bought this nail grinder and she loves it! No more fighting or screaming! It’s very quiet and soft her nails. Gets the job done without all the fuss! I highly recommend this product to everyone!

So I bought this for my newly adopted dog because she yiped like I was going to murder her when I touched clippers to her toenail (didn’t even clip, just touched…) I bought this because all the reviews said it was super silent, and it is. It’s been a great tool to get her used to me touching her feet, and the vibratiof it. However, it really doesn’t do much grinding down my Australian cattle dog’s nails. It’s pretty fine grit, and it’s a grinding stone, not sand paper, so it can heat up a little bit. Overall, it’s a really nice tool, but I decided to upgrade to the Oster, which has different grit attachments.

I like that I can grind my puppy’s nails without worrying about how much is too much. It will take my puppy some time to get used to the idea that she needs to have her nails grounded. In my opinithe sound is like a hum, totally not scary. I like that I can charge this device, and that as my puppy grows I can eventually remove the cap since there are three ways to use the grinder. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who doesn’t want to use nail clippers.

I wanted this to work. My dog is a Bostterrier. Nothing crazy or too excitable. She hates the sound and you have to press pretty hard the nail to get it to grind down. Used it twice and she hated it. Grabbed the dog nail clippers she tolerates that better. Thought this would work

This is terrible for larger dogs with thick nails. It takes forever to trim them and the battery dies before I can get through 2 paws.

This works exactly as advertised – quiet and effective. I tried it my hairy labradoodle’s paws, held her hair back while grinding each nail, and had no problem with hair getting pulled into the grinder. She’s moderately fidgety, but kept still right from the start. I had already clipped her nails as best I could, but wanted the grinder to get a closer and smoother cut. Very impressed.

This nail grinder works extremely well for my 30 lb American Eskimo. The motor is quiet enough not to upset him, though I did let him sniff around it for a while when it was running so he could get used to it. The grinder was powerful enough to file down all his claws quickly to about the same length as from a professional grooming holding its charge for the entire process with as much power for the last claw as for the first. I’m very pleased with the grinder’s effectiveness as well as the price. Given the cost to get my dog’s claws trimmed by a groomer, this tool essentially paid for itself in one use.

Not strong enough for our bulldogges nails!Doesn’t hold charge very well at all

  29. Rated 4 out of 5

The concept is great. It appears to be well made. Unfortunately, it isn’t a good fit for my dog. He didn’t run for the hills at the sound, but freaked out the vibratihis nails. My giant boy is a good boy, but not putting up with this. Time to go to the groomers for his nails. That said, he was 3 years old when we got him, so he’s not used to such nail trimmings. I think it would be great for someone with a smaller dog that can be held, or starting as a puppy to get them used to it.

I just purchased two of these grinders. One for my use and one for a gift. I am very pleased with it ; I have used it twice. I loved the fact that it was rechargeable and that the grinding wheel is of excellent quality and needs no replacement parts. I my Miniature Schnauzer does not mind the use of it.I would recommend it highly for small dogs. I would think it would be fine for larger dogs; it may take longer to grind off their nails. Maybe if you cut the nail, then use the grinder to smooth the nail ; it would cut down the grinding tie. This is the method I use my little Schnauzer.Than you for the products you have made available.

This thing is awesome. I used it my 4 lb Chihuahua. Her nails were so long and I didn’t have time to take her to our groomer. We’ve moved out of town and haven’t found one I can trust yet. The grinder is very quiet, so my Chihuahua didn’t mind it. She just gave me a crazy side eyed look. My other dog was to scared to lay still. Not the grinders fault. He is just a cry baby that’s scared by everything.

Works great! I was afraid my dogs would freak out and hate it and leap and jump away and cause me aggravation. Not so much. Not like they LIKE it but it’s not the drama I imagined. It just whirs away. No bloody toenails prancing through my house. Works like a charm. Only negative is it kind of looks like a vibrator. Pity the woman who makes that mistake!

Just didn’t work. Took way too long and it made my dog anxious.

Tried one of those rechargeable filers you find in the womens nail sectiat your local pharmacy/store. Did not have the power to get through my dog’s nails in a timely manner. Bought this one and was ed at both the extra power and how quiet it was in comparison! My buddy still fidgets a little when I do the first nail, then calmly lets me do the rest without resistance. She doesn’t want me near her with the manual clippers!

I have a 70lb German Shepherd, and this works great for his nails! He really hates getting them cut, but we just moved into a new house with hardwood floors and he was scratching the crap out of them. He didn’t really like it at first, but once he realized this wasn’t going to hurt he laid down and let me file them down. I haven’t had it long, but so far so good. This was a great solutifor our big baby 🙂

Charges quickly, very quiet, works very well! Beats trying to clip my dog’s nails any day. I also love the ability to shape the nails quickly – no sharp edges. The cap makes it easy to shape the nails using various holes, and you can completely remove it depending your needs. Highly recommend.

This is a great product. Our 4 month old puppy was scared of it at first but then settled down & didn’t mind getting her nails done at all. Very highly recommend this dog nail file/trimmer. Also, it had a charge so I could do her nails right away. Its very quiet too which I think helped her not to be leary or scared of it.

I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem 😊 it was so light weight, I didn’t expect much results. I’m new to doing my rescue pit bulls nails myself and have had little positive results with any trimmer/ grinder I have tried. But when I turned this nail grinder it was so quite and gentle, I actually got excited. Our dog is letting me do her nails every day ( I only do 1 or 2 at a time) I’m gaining more confidence and so is our dog. It’s so gentle and easy to use, I don’t think it would ever hurt an an animal unless the user was thoughtless or careless. I will recommend this affordable easy to use grooming tool to anyone looking for one.

I wouldn’t mind an extra speed but I’ve been very happy with this grinder so far. It holds a charge well and while running, is pretty quiet so it isn’t freaking out the dogs. I like that the material the grinder wheel is similar to a nail file I have that is virtually indestructible. Just rinse it and reuse. I hope to get many uses out of this and so far, would buy it again.

Great little product. Took a bit for my dog to get used to the sound and feeling, but now everything is great! Works well my 80lb german shepherd as long as I keep up with it. Definitely good for maintaining and/or rounding the nails. But if you’re wanting to use this long nails to get them short you’re gonna be grinding for awhile. It’ll do it, it will just be a slow process. Product keeps a good charge, actually uses the same charger as my Samsung Galaxy S7 which is convenient. Highly recommend this product regardless of how you use it.

I bought for my 12 yr old pug that has problems with his nails & hates me working them. I think it will work well for maintenance and fixing his quick issue. I have used it once so far. It took 30 minutes this first time probably since his nails haven’t been done in a while. I didn’t have any issue with the battery running out so that was good. He’s been through surgeriy & an injury recently that have him very skiddish of me in general, but was surprisingly calm. It’s gentle so he didn’t have any pain or bleeding. I’m pleased with my purchase so far!

  42. Rated 5 out of 5

I’ve only used this once so far but I like to call it the best purchase I’ve ever made. My dog hates getting her nails clipped and it makes me nervous every time. It took a few minutes for her to get used to it, I just let sit the floor while she sniffed it and barked at it. Once I actually got to grind her nails I felt so much better. Even if she jerks her paw, there’s no way I can hurt her. Love this, would definitely recommend!

My dog is terrified of it . My big “tough” German Shepherd haha . So , i’m not going to try using it her again . She was shaking so bad and it was just cruel to keep trying . However, the product does work & its no fault of the company or anything that my dog is a pansy . so still 5 stars =)

    Immortally Yours

I’m so impressed, the nail trimmer costs the same as taking 1 trip to the groomer to have her nails done, and it’s so easy to use. My dog has super-dense nails and I don’t have the hand strength to use clippers, but this shaves them down with ease, and safely, and she isn’t even scared of it. It’s quieter than I thought possible.

  45. Rated 5 out of 5

It works very well. I have a large dog who scratches a lot and can do a lot of damage with his jagged nails post clipping. He is also very sensitive to anything happening to his nails. He was not any more freaked out from the nail grinder than he gets when having his nails cut. I do appreciate that it is fairly quiet, which I think helps a lot.

  46. Rated 3 out of 5

Pros: light weight, quiet, gentle, able to use it while being chargedCons: lack of power, not able to change the drill bit (even though the manufacturer says it’s not necessary)This is a good product if you have a small dog or one with soft nails. My older dog is petrified of clippers, so he’ll let me sit there and file his nails away. However, this is very time consuming because his nails are hard. My little dog has all black nails but has no patience to sit through the grinding. She prefers to have her nails clipped and then rounded off with the filer.I’ve used the filer 2x already and the grainy feeling the bit is feeling dull, but since it’s not replaceable, I am stuck with it.I’ve tried the Dremel nail grinder as well as entry level industrial grinder. The Dremel does not hold its charge and the battery pack must be removed frequently to charge it. The corded industrial ones are efficient but very loud and heavy to hold. It’d be nice to have a grinder compact and light weight like Herzko but packed the power of the Dremel as well as able to be plugged in while in use.

We just used this for our guinea pig and I love it! It is so much easier than clippers for his tiny nails, and as long as he is eating carrots, we can get his nails done easily. I would definitely recommend this product, it is simple to use, rechargeable and a good price. I will let you know if it is durable and lasts at least a couple of years, but I’m super happy so far!

This has been a game changer! My dog would always hide and shake when we brought out nail clippers. When I purchased this, it was my last resort before I resigned that we would need to take him in to trim them. I took it out of the package, showed it to him, turned it off, etc. He didn’t care at ALL. He laid across my lap happily and didn’t protest in the slightest! I’ve used this 3x a week and it works perfectly! It’s SO quiet and SO easy! The battery lasts pretty long too! I’ve had mine for two weeks and haven’t charged it yet! Definitely recommend!

The Hertzko Electric Pet Nail Grinder works well for my 18 lb maltzu. This is my 2nd pet nail grinder because she didn’t like the first one as it was a little noisy. The Hertzko brand was much quieter so she actually didn’t run away when I first turned it on. The grinder worked very well but I think it was the vibratiof the grinding actithat still scares her. My hubby helped with the tummy rub so I was able do a first run with all her nails. She needs to have another run as her nails have become really long but I didn’t want her to develop a phobia this one so I’m giving her a rest and will be trying again in a few days.

It’s gentle and effective and works as advertised. Even though two of my three dogs kinda take off if they hear the (very quiet and non-scary) motor this nail grinder lol, the third dog, for whom it was purchased, is OK with it. I think the other two will eventually come around; you know dogs!

I was worried a little after I got this grinder that it would do well. I was pleasantly surprised how fast and how quiet it is. My little Yorkie mix is not a big fan of getting his nails done so when he sat almost still while I was trimming his nails I knew that this thing was great! I would highly recommend, it is not loud and trim a lot faster than I thought it would.

This was my last ditch effort to be able to do nails at home for my Yorkie and Maltese… and it worked! I like that there are options for different sized dogs, as mine are pretty tiny. My Maltese is great about it. My Yorkie is not such a big fan, but I can get the job done. Her nails got too long, so I’m working getting the quick to recede so I can go shorter and shorter. Once they quit clicking the floor, I’m thinking any discomfort she has will go away and she’ll be ok about it too.I hold them in my lap or arms the couch and give them lots of love between nails.

I bought this as a replacement for a Pedi-Paw, and this works so much better. I had an original Pedi-Paw and it worked really well, but then eventually with all the nail dust getting inside the inner workings, it wasn’t working so well after a while. I purchased a new Pedi-Paw and it was awful – it had no power and wouldn’t even grind the nails my smaller 7 lb. dog. I then bought this Electric Pet Nail Grinder and am so glad I did. Its small and lightweight, and it has a rechargeable battery. It has much better grinding power than the Pedi-Paw did, and the grinding wheel is a stone instead of sand paper discs that wear out. It works so much better for grinding my dogs nails. I have to say, I have two small dogs and it works great them. I am unsure how this would work a larger dog since the grinding space is rather small.

So far so good! I am actually quite happy with my purchase so far, after 3 uses. It gets expensive getting nails buffed for two boxers every month at the pet store and this tool was cost effective, user friendly, and animal friendly. It’s pretty quiet which is nice since my dogs get nervous getting nails done, and it worked really well. I also like that it’s electric so you don’t have to worry about batteries.

I am very happy with this purchase. I bought this for my new shelter rescue dog, Nala, who is a boxer/lab mix. She’s very jumpy, and very puppy like at 11 months old. I was told that this type of product was the best for trimming a dog’s nails because it’s safer than clipping. Long story short, I joked with the company that the tool worked great my own nails, but haven’t been able to acclimate my dog to it, and did they have any helpful hints. The perswho wrote back gave me five paragraphs of how to help my dog get used to the product, which is quiet and gentle, and works like a dream. It does take some training – you have to introduce it gently to your pup, if your pup is like Nala. do it every day.

I have two small dogs that hate going to groomer. So for years, I’ve been grooming them myself. One thing I dreaded doing is cutting their nails…When I saw this product, I wanted to give it a try. I had them for a few days. At first, I had a doubt that it was the right product for my dogs, but I’ve been using it for a few times now & beginning to see how easy it is to trim my dogs’ nails. They were afraid of the buzzing noise from the grinder, but once they’d realized that it’s not going to hurt them, they relaxed. I like what it does and recommend to others who have similar issues like I had.

Pretty good tool – works as advertised. It’s a little slower result and slightly less powerful than I had expected, but it is slowly doing the job. My dog’s nails are very hard, so it takes a long time for each nail. But as long as I keep up it I think this will keep us out of the groomers and will save time scheduling and going back and forth. I intend to do a paw every couple days, to keep everything trimmed and not overwhelm my dog. I would recommend this.

We adopted a 1 year old Chihuahua who absolutely hated having his nails trimmed. I tried clipping them and using an old nail grinder that I had which was very loud and neither worked. I bought this a lightening deal and am very glad I did. It took about 4 tries with this grinder for him to get used to it and allow me to get the job done, but it was worth it. It is very quiet and the battery lasted long enough to finish the job. It worked so well that i decided to try it our 12 year old border collie/shepherd mix and it worked great. Obviously being a bigger dog, her nails were much thicker than the Chihuahua, but it still did a great job. I would recommend this product.

I truly like this nail grinder, I have a 90lb mixed breed dog who hates having his nails cut. It could take me over an hour to cut all the nails down with normal trimmers. With this nail grinder, he is still not a fan, mostly again, due to he knows that I am going to do something with his nails, but he is more patient with the grinder and it takes me less time to grind them. I was even told by my vet to grind his nails due to cutting leaves them ragged. The motor is truly quieter than other dremmels I’ve encountered and he doesn’t get frightened.

So far I am very happy with this product. I bought it after my dog was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that makes his nails split and separate from the nail bed, making them obviously very sensitive. Using a regular clippers was painful for my pup, and my vet recommended trying a grinder. In the past we had tried one but it was very loud and freaked my dogs and cats out. This one is much quieter and gentler. I touched it my finger and it didn’t hurt, so I know if my dog jerks and I touch his paw pad with it, it won’t do any harm. I have Siberian Huskies with thick nails, and the only down side is that it takes much longer than a clipper, but I think the same would go for any grinder.

Love this nail grinder. My cocker was so afraid of nail clipping, got him at 10 months and he’d freak out over it…so sensitive. It was awful…I’ve groomed and trimmed my cocker spaniels nails for 40 yrs. Reviews said these were quiet/low vibration. He was used to me handling his toes/nails..always laying by me watching tv at night. I first started using my own nail file his nails…just to get used to a feeling. When the Herzko arrived, I’d turn it on/off…while the pup laid by my side watching tv…then I’d let him see it, touch it. Couple days later, I started turning it with small treat in same hand…he’d come over to see it, get the treat. Later we moved to the grooming table in his harness…patiently just did the on/off, touch, treat (like clicker training/rewards)…then I moved slowly into doing a nail. Took a while, but he is so timid and scared of things I had to lay a good foundatiso he wouldnt be afraid and I could keep his nails done properly. This is NOT a power carver…takes off little at a time, but it does work and certainly has been a success for my pup! Good investment.

I got this product hoping I could grind my puppers nails at home. No fault the product, but they aren’t too into it yet. Will keep working that slowly. BUT in the meantime, I have found soooooooooo many great uses for this grinder!I live in Texas and have really tough, hard, calloused feet. What can I say? I grew up mostly barefoot! I get painful cracks that I used to try to buff or soften with a nail file or pumice stone. Now I use this grinder my toenails as well as my hard, cracked feet. Works like a charm!I have also used this grinder to sharpen a few knives and garden tools, even my lawn mower blade. OMG it was awesome!!

Conceptually the tool functions as a nail grinder, but unfortunately it doesnt have the UMPH that the big boys do. I suspect that if you have a mid/small sized dog this tool will work for you, but big dogs are a no go. Bought this for my 85 lb chocolate lab and his hardwood punishing paws. This tool makes a pleasant low pitched hum that doesn’t panic the dog, but the trade off is moderate performance. I spend roughly 20 minutes per paw…..the grinder kicks up an impressive cloud of nail dust, but doesnt really grind the nails down. Any applied pressure to the nail is sufficient to stop the grinder. Only light pressure will keep the top spinning.

My Golden runs as soas he sees the nail clippers but he doesn’t mind this tool at all. I can get almost two paws done at a time. I started off with one nail and gave him a treat. Just go slow and eventually you can do all four in one sitting. Well….maybe just two paws. Because the nail goes inside the little hole there’s no danger of his fur catching the spinning head. Love that it can be recharged.

My pups would not tolerate this. Tried turning it just so they could get accustomed to the sound first. Tried slowly doing one claw, they did not like it. Tried easily working our way into it and nothing. It also stinks there’s only and off, no middle setting. I think if it would’ve had a slower setting to ease them into it, it may have worked. But it was a nice nail grinder, two different slots for different sized nails and then the protector top came off for even larger nails. It does seem rather loud than I expected too, not crazy loud, I expected a very low almost inaudible hum and it is a hum noise but is very audible.

I am very happy with this product. I’ve used it for two months, and it has worked very well. It probably takes longer than it would using clippers, but my two puppies don’t like having their nails trimmed, and this tool has made it much easier. They hate clippers, and if it weren’t for this grinder, I’d probably have to take them to a groomer. Another thing I love about it is that I don’t have to worry about hurting them, if I cut into the quick, which I’ve done with clippers. I can easily do four paws one charge, and even then, it still has quite a bit of charge left in it.

Have had issues getting our two pugs in to get their nails trimmed a regular basis. Plus it’s $15-20 every time we go. One of our pugs doesn’t mind this at all. The other still hates the noise it makes, trying to get him used to it still. It works very well for what it’s made for, but does make a high pitched weird noise while actually grinding (to be expected). Much easier than trimmers.

The tool is quiet and easy to use. I used it my senior dog. She’s a lab mix who weighs about 45 pounds. A few of her nails are too long to cut because-our-fault-we waited too long to trim them so the vein grew into her nail. This grinder however buffed them down slightly the first use so I plan to use it again shortly to bring the nail further down. In the past I took my dog to a professional groomer but due to her age, it’s not enjoyable for her anymore. I bought this trimmer to help keep her from going to the groomer. So far, I’m very happy with this purchase. I saw an immediate difference.

It was either trip the kittens nails or trade her in got money to pay for bandages and neosporing for all the cuts my hand. Kitten is lucky this came when it did.Let her smell it, turned it and let her smell it again, gave her a treat, put her in the toilet sink, did each paw and treat after each one for positive reinforcement. Did the dog after. Works like a charm.

I like it but better yet my dog likes it. She was used to the larger noisier one, so this one is a paw up. When she was a pup I did one nail at a time, briefly. I increased nails and time so that she was not overwhelmed. Now she puts her paw up as soas we sit one the floor with the grinder. She likes to switch back and forth, one paw and then the other. Works for me. I like the size of this product too.

Wow – if I could give this 10 stars, I would. Lightweight, quiet and mostly IT WORKS. I have two small dogs – both of which HATE the groomer – so I gave the Hertzko a try. It was ing, worked wonderfully and ground the nails almost effortlessly. My dogs, understandably, were nervous, but my wife scratched them while I did the grinding and everything was fine. A great, great item.

This nail grinder is great quality. It works my granddog’s nails however my Lab wants no business with it. We tried to start him as a puppy but he fights me and my husband no matter how we approach him. The nail grinder is of good quality and now resides with my daughter!

Speedy process and dedicated seller.Product works as indicated. Noise level minimal and my dog (corgi) is not scared of sound or feeling. I went back and forth between this and the Dremel. I do wish this one was a bit more powerful but I think the Dremel would be a bit too much for my dog.All in all this product is great and is as described. I wouldn’t mind if it were a bit more powerful; that’s the only negative thing I can say about this product. It seems like if you want a less intimidating product for your pet, then this is the one to buy.

Hi everyone, just wanted to write my own review for the electric pet nail grinder by Hertzko, I like it. why because I was a bit antsy trying to clip my dogs nails so I did my research and found this product, it’s easy to use battery life is awesome no problems at all, but you do have to have alot of patience with this product, it’s takes a lot of time to grind a thick nail a bigger dog so I find myself doing one paw at a time but I’m only a beginner though, and my dog could relax for the 40 mins for me to finish one paw before can’t stay still anymore. All in all its a good product but I need some time to see with it that being said would write another review once I get more comfortable with it.

Bought this for the dog. She hates it. I will continue using the groomer just because of ease. Since the dog was a no go, I tried it the cat before returning it. The cat LOVES it. She hates the clippers, but has no problem sitting there while I use the grinder. Back paws are a little hard, but I am 99% sure that is because my cat likes to be difficult.

I’ve used it once now each of my three dogs and for dogs who have hated this process since the first day I got them, this makes it relatively easy. I have two tiny dogs with almost completely black nails and this worked great, and one medium (30 lb) dog this has also been great with. While it may be quieter than other tools (I haven’t tried any other nail filing devices) it definitely makes a noise I worked to get my dogs used to first and it was fine. I do wish there was more informatiwith it charging and length battery should hold. I wasn’t sure if it needed to be charged right away and if the solid light meant it was fully charged or if that is always when it’s plugged in.

This particular pet nail filer is great for very small dogs. I would highly recommend cutting the nails first then finishing off with the filer. Very slow going, but the filer is quiet and helps to calm a nervous dog. Not recommended for any dog nails over the size of a Chihuahua. Would buy again.

My dog gets VERY stressed out when it’s time for a nail trim regardless if I’m taking her to the groomer to get it done or doing it at home. She doesn’t like getting her feet touched so she didn’t like us using the nail grinder, but she wasn’t stressed and trying to escape. It takes off only a little at a time, which is a good thing so you don’t accidentally cut the quick, but if your dog had overgrown nails like mine it will take some time to get them down to the desired length. If you have a dog who doesn’t tolerate nail trims, I highly recommend this!

Skiddish dog did not mind it once I got her to let me. She did not need her nails done much as a puppy because she was always running around but last year she got a major lung infectiand has not been nearly as active. Now she is middle aged and her nails are not desensitized to people fiddling with them. Currently Im assocoating the act of grinding her nails with that of fresh chicken. I touched through all her nails in one go and although I have some work I think I’ll call it a success.I’ve tried a disposable battery operated one and it would stop as soas it hit the nail. Not this little thing. It was just powering right along, and it feels like the charge will last quite awhile, although I havent run the battery down yet. I like USB charged devices. they seem to have a much more powerful motor or be more efficient etc. than any other battery operated device. I have a few different items that recharge this way, and that is one is no exception. It just seems like a handy, powerful little tool that I’ll have for a long time.

This awesome little nail grinder works GREAT. I love it and so do both of our dogs. It is super easy to use, light weight, very quiet, and works really well. I love that it sort of holds the claw in place or guides it so it’s easier to use our dogs. The groomers we had either cut our dogs claws too short and made them bleed, didn’t cut them short enough. But now with this awesome diamond drill bit we can cut our dogs claws ourselves easily and quickly to the perfect length and round them off so they aren’t sharp. This is the BEST dog claw grinder EVER. It arrived in good conditiand time, and ready to use. But how do we know when it’s fully charged? Does the little light change colors, to blue or red or green, etc?

My 8 lb Yorkipoo HATED nail clippers, would pull his foot from my grip and it was torture for the both of us …, NOT ANYMORE!!!! He doesn’t move this at all, and doesn’t run away wren he sees it!! I’m sooooo thankful I went ahead and made the purchase! I’m pretty sure I have a lot of nail yet to remove, but don’t want to knick the quick, so grinding away bit by bit every few days. I know with this grinder it’s going to be easy to keep up with his growth now that he doesn’t mind me using this him!!! YAY!!!!!

I have two large dogs and was having trouble with one of them “digging” through my sheets. This grinder saved the day! It took a moment for my dogs to warm up to the noise it makes, but both (eventually) sat willingly as I filed their nails. Without using clippers first, the process would be incredibly long (to file alone), but with a quick snip and a good filing, my dogs’ nails are as neat as they’ve ever been! I’m excited about this product because I’ll never have to worry about clipping the quick again! I can just file it down in two seconds! I filed all four paws both pups and had plenty of charge to spare.

Our dog was scared to death of this thing at first. We started by turning in with the cover attached at a distance. Then moved it closer to her slowly until she started getting used to it. Then we started touching her toes with it very slowly, with the protective cap still in place. This allowed her to get used to the vibrations. Soafterward we were able to trim her toe nails quickly and efficiently. We liked the product so much we bought one for my mother in law.

I rarely write reviews and had to jump online and write this one because I’m so thrilled with this product! I have an extremely high strung nervous 13 year old golden doodle who is afraid of everything. The vaccuum, the ironing board, the broom, thunder, basically everything. And I’ve had a Pedi-Paw for years which did me basically no good. I didn’t throw it out because I figured maybe I’d need to smooth off the occasional sharp nail or something but it never really worked and he hated it. This new thing is so quiet and smooth, he actually laid down and relaxed while I smoothed up his nails! Like all 4 paws at one sitting! Worth the $20 or so. Deff buy it!

This is very very nice for my small dogs. One has dew claws and I was having a terrible time getting them clipped. This has done such a great job. I just do little at a time and now have all their nails down nicely. I will be able to keep them short and smooth with this grinder. My two dogs are very skidding when I try to do their nails. They weren’t afraid of this. A little unsure at first but now just let me do it. Very quite so that is the most important thing. They don’t like noisy things. I can’t say enough about it. Love it.

I love this tool! It is so nice and quiet, it doesn’t alarm my animals at all. With four dogs and 8 cats, I needed a good, reliable tool for dealing with their claws. This completely fills the bill. And its rechargeable! I don’t know about others, but I usually find that just when I need something (that is battery operated) is the time I find that the batteries are dead and I can’t find replacements without going out to buy them. That NEVER happens with this tool. I would recommend this grinder to anyone who has pets that need their claws dealt with. Also, the manufacturer is VERY responsive. I haven’t needed to contact them for anything, but it is clear that these folks are available if I did. You can’t lose by purchasing this tool!

Absolutely ing, I was a little nervous purchasing this product because I didn’t know if it was going to actually work! But it does and it isn’t loud or scary. As long as I have my puppy close to me he’s fine with me trimming his nails. As I said before I have a puppy and his nails grow very fast, this product makes it so easy to trim his nails within a few minutes. Also it’s very convenient instead of taking him to the groomers every 2 weeks! It’s electric and doesn’t need batteries and it comes with a charger, I’ve used it about 3 times already and it is still charged. So it has a pretty good battery life! If you’re in need of a nail grinder I would definitely purchase this one! You won’t regret it.

My lab is a very nervous dog so I was worried how he would react to this nail grinder especially when he hears a nail clipper he runs and hides in his kennel. But read the reviews and decided to try it out. Yeah so glad I did!!! My lab just lays there and let’s me trim his nails! Saves me money from having to go to the vet every month. It’s fairly quiet like a small buzz and added bonus is the top attachment that can stay to help you have more control in case you slip or can be removed if wanted/needed. I would recommend this to any of my family and friends

Much easier to use than nail clippers. Our dog struggled a little at being held still (this is the first time we’ve ever trimmed her nails) but showed no signs that the Grinder hurt her in anyway, or that she was afraid of it. The noise is not super loud. There is a sound, but it’s pretty quiet, and she didn’t seem bothered by it.I was able to easily file down her nails to a good point, without being worried about cutting the quick. The nails were a little sharp after filing, however, once we put her down to let her walk around, they quickly dulled.

So far, this unit is highly recommended. Super lightweight and easy to manipulate. Super QUIET! My wife ground the nails one of our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels last night while the dog was sleeping (this is a girl that is not keen having her nails messed with). It came fully charged and we have not had to charge it yet. It will charge from a cell phone charger with mini USB port. At least for toy breed size nails this is a perfect item.

This is a great product. My macaw, who is 25, hated the nail clippers. After she felt the grinder the first nail, she calmed right down. Never fought or complained. When I asked her if she liked it better than clippers, she said, “Yeah!” with a lot of enthusiasm. Thanks for making both our lives easier.

My puppy girl hates having her nails trimmed. Luckily this product is ultra quiet so it takes her a bit to realize what I am doing. This is a great product that is very easy to use. I don’t have to worry about nicking her quik in her black nails as I would with normal nail clippers (which she would run and hide as soas they came out of the drawer). Now I know I said puppy girl but she is an eight year old sassy drama queen heeler mix. She has very thick black nails and this grinder stands up to the challenge as it has removable attachments that will do any sized nails. What was once a three persjob can now be done with one. I no longer have to take her to the groomers because I can now get her nails done in one sitting instead of a nail here and there.

This is such a great tool. We have 120 lb lab with black nails – quick is impossible to see. I got sick of getting him from groomers with bloody nails. After realizing that clipping them myself was not as easy as I hoped, I found this. It’s quiet, gentle, and holds a long charge. We love it!

Edit: after using for a few months, im not really impressed. It seems to lose power really quickly. It will take multiple charges to get through all 4 paws.Breathing my dogs hot toe dust kinda sucks but this makes trimming toenails much easier! The charge doesnt hold a well as I would like–I usually need to charge after doing a set of paws.

I’m certain this would be a great product if my big baby of a dog would allow me to get close to him with it. It’s very quiet and not scary at all, he’s just a big baby, but he’s my big baby. I’m going to keep it and keep trying, he’s very motivated by treats, perhaps I’ll wait a while and try again. Wish me luck!

I normally buy the pedi paws versiof this but decided to spend the few extra bucks based the reviews. It was money well spent. It is quieter then the pedi paws, smaller in size, yet just as powerful. I actually think it is better because it files the nail quicker and you don’t have to worry about the paper ripping off or having to replace the sander so often.

This was a great step up from the dog nail clippers I previously bought. Those scared my poor pup with the loud noise it made and I was always worried about nicking her. She was apprehensive at first because of the noise from the spinning grinder, but let me grind her nails down without a fight. I am so glad I purchased this! I don’t have to spend a little extra at the groomers now since they charge additionally to dremel nails down vs. clip.

Super easy to use. And so quiet, didn’t spook my dogs at all. Love that it is cordless. I first showed it to both dogs while off and let them sniff it/check it out. Then I turned it and let them do the same thing, after that I started using it them. Both dogs did great after the first paw (getting the feel for it). You would have sworn they thought they were at the doggie nail salon…both laid down and zoned out while I “pampered” them! I have 2 mutts…Collie mix at 50#’s and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix at 75#’s

This pet nail grinder is great! My 3-yr old 25 lb. dog would not let me cut/touch his paws/nails for the longest of time. He hated going to the vet to have his nails cut/grinded. 2 assistants were needed to hold his fidgety body down. He’s been more trusting of me lately. ingly, after the 2nd day of introducing him to the grinder, he reluctantly allowed me to grind acouple of toenails, and then the 3rd day one of his dewclaws! The grinder works well, is strong enough to grind faster if more pressure is applied and is fairly quiet. I’m very happy with this purchase. One caveat is battery doesn’t look like it’s user replaceable. When it can no longer be recharged, that’s the end of the unit. But I’m just happy I can cut my dog’s nail myself now.

I am very happy with this product. My dogs hates having her nails done, despite many valiant efforts to help her become more comfortable with it. This is great because it is very quiet. It is also not too harsh. It might take a little extra time to complete the job if you have a larger dog, but I didn’t mind that. This really is a great product for the price!

After reading reviews I settled this Pet Nail Grinder. It works well my 60 pound bulldog. His nails are thick and heavy and it really does work. I would guess that the reviews by people who say it doesn’t have enough power, or battery ran down too fast are not using it correctly. some advice: 1. Take it out of the package and plug it in. Let it charge completely before the 1st use. 2. Never let the battery run completely out, this will ruin any battery operated device. 3. Be patient. No nail grinder is designed to just run through your pets nails in mere seconds. That would be dangerous. 4. If your dog doesn’t like it at first be patient and keep trying. Find a treat, or toy that works as a reward and ONLY offer it to them during and after nail trimming. For us it works to put a muzzle our dog while getting his nails done. He is not a bite risk, but the muzzle has a calming effect him. I would recommend this nail grinder for sure. Good luck pet owners!

So far, I’m just trying to get my dogs adjusted to having the nail grinder around them. The packaging arrived and was in good condition. The device was fully charged and ready to go. It’s also very compact, so it will store or travel easily. It’s very quiet when you turn it on, but my dogs are still not sure how they feel about it. I give them a treat every time I take it out and turn it on, and I’m trying to get them to at least sit next to me while I have it turned (at the moment, they will sniff while it is off, but walk away as soas it is running). Someday, I’ll actually get to touch their feet with it. They’re both quite squirmy about having their feet messed with, but we’re hoping this will save us money from taking them to the groomer to get them done every 2 weeks.

So far, so good. I like that there is a protective covering so dogs with longer coats won’t get hair caught up in the rotatiof the grinder, like happens with Dremels. However, there is a downside as well. For the price of this grinder, which does work well, after I got it the packaging noted that there were no replacement grinders available for this. With multiple dogs in the household, it is not going to last very long; thus, it is too pricey for me to purchase again every time it is worn down. I will have to look elsewhere.

I have two large dogs, a Rotti and a Cane Corso and they hate getting their nails cut. I have to take them to the vet & they have a hard time too. My cane corso is ok with me using this nail grinder but it does take some time due to the fact that her nails are thick & if you stay one nail too long the nail gets hot. Once I get them down I’m sure it will be much easier to maintain. My Rotti won’t let me get near her with this but I figured she wouldn’t. Overall I think this is a handy tool if you have patience.

I have a shnauzer poodle mix who is around 25 lbs and is about the size of a beagle. The nail grinder worked well enough at filing my dog’s nails down. It is going to take a while to file them down if your dog is medium/large sized and/or if their nails haven’t been trimmed in a while. If your dog’s nails haven’t been trimmed in a while and you want the process to go a bit quicker I’d suggest clippng a little bit of the nail first then filing it with the grinder to round and smooth the edges but if you have a difficult dog that hates getting their nails cut (like mine does) this nail grinder will still be able to file your dog’s nails all the way down, without causing pain or discomfort (it might just take a little longer). My dog literally use to run at the sight of the nail clippers but now that I have this grinder she’s much more comfortable gettig her nails groomed.

My dog chews her nails because of anxiety when I am gone for work. Sometimes they can get pretty sharp, and I was previously using a nail file to fix them. I decided to try out this nail grinder, and it works great. The sound isn’t too scary for my dog, and she doesn’t mind it when I’m using it. I just kind of put my arm around her, and then make sure to give her lots of treats when I’m using this tool. It’s lasted several uses with all 4 paws (maybe about 15 minutes total each time) and I still haven’t had to charge it again. The little guard top is really helpful in making sure I don’t get too much of her nail caught the grinder.

I thought this was going to be a miracle product for my dogs and it isn’t quite that. It is so not painful like clipping them or risky but the fact is they still HATE getting their nails done. You have to be extremely patient because they have to get used to this. I pretty much tried using it about 5 times a day, spacing out each time and gave them treats after if they let me grind one of their nails. It is taking forever but my one dog is finally getting the hang of it. Once their nails have been clipped and they have that fear of bleeding, it’s really hard to get them to trust you again. Give it time and be patient! This really is a great product just will not give you instant gratification.

This has been great so far, and so much cheaper than going to the groomer! My dog is a medium breed, and this has been great for her nails so far. Taking her to the groomer has become impossible because she gets terrible anxiety whenever she is away from her family. This has been a great solution.

My first impressiwas wow how quiet was this my second impressiwas I wonder if I can sneak up my girl so I can get her nails. An answer to the second questiit was no. But I waited until she was sleeping and I was able to do her nails with no problem. I would definitely recommend there’s nail grinder because it’s inter-species I was able to do my mother’s toes with it also. So having to buy. I have had tried other nail grinders and this is the one that I will try again and again

I have not used it yet but it is the quiet side which is very important to me. My Little 4 pound Pippin is a little shy when trimming her nails because of the loud noise from my Dremel, it is way noisy and she cries like she is being slaughtered. LOL I have my fingers crossed. 🤞🏼 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Easy to use and works great. My maltipoo doesn’t getting her nails filed down. She just looks at me trying to figure out what I’m doing. Very pet friendly. I would recommend wearing a mask to avoid inhaling the nail debris.

I have used this nail grinder twice so far and I love it. I have a small dog (Maltese), but her nails get very long and thick. I did trim them with a traditional nail trimmer first and then rounded them out with the grinder. I was able to get pretty close to the nail beds that way without causing discomfort. I appreciate that the grinder isn’t very loud as my dog usually finds buzzing noises frightening.

I’ve always been a little leery about cutting/grinding our dog’s nails. The first problem has always been will the grinder actually grind our dog’s nails. We have very large dogs (90 lbs and 65 lbs). Their nails are very thick. I don’t like cutting them because the nail is ragged. I got this grinder to try the dogs. It worked great! Not only is the motor very quiet but the diamond grinder worked like a champ. Their nails were ground quickly. Also the grinder is very quiet. This is the first time I’ve tried to grind our dog’s nails and they didn’t freak out about the noise. I give this an A+.

Well, my dogs (2 Great Danes) are afraid of this too. Trimming their nails has proven to be a challenge. I have been turning it and letting them get used to the sound (although it’s extremely minimal). They’re just big babies and are afraid of anything that goes near their paws. However, it works great mine! While I get them accustomed to it, may as well put it to use, right?

My dog’s always a mess when i take her to get her nails done. I showed her this as an “intro” and she wasn’t really interested, turned it and she didn’t blink, proceeded to grind her nails and no complaints! SUCCESS!! Her nails look great, it takes little time, plus I feel comfortable doing it myself which I was a bit afraid of before. 5 stars! AND I have already recommended to dog owners i know. And i never leave reviews. Great product.

The grinder is relatively quiet, but not completely. And for big dogs it takes quite a while to grind the nails. I got this because I have a dog who is extremely fearful of having her nails clipped. She won’t even let me grind her nails with this. But that isn’t the product’s fault. Overall, it’s a great little grinder for medium to small dogs. For bigger dogs, it’s a little timely.

I have a silky terrier who HATES anyone going near her nails. This product was a last resort, before I had to take her to get them done at the vet, where I would spend a slew of money. Not going to lie, I didn’t have high hopes and was fully prepared to empty my wallet. I used the grinder yesterday, and not only was Maxie not afraid, she was completely calm. Best purchase I have made in a long time. Just wish I would have bought it awhile ago.

I have only used it a few times but ill definitely say with confidence my dog had a pretty quick turn around getting her nails trimmed. She used to be extremely terrified of clipper since the occasiwe cut them too short This the other hand will trim the nails and give you and your dog the confidence that you wont go too short. As you may assume from the headline the shavings fly off pretty quick. So if you want to keep a close eye the nail youre trimming. use safety glasses!

This thing works great! It’s fairly quiet… at least it’s quiet enough that the dogs don’t seem to mind it. It only took a few minutes of positive reinforcement (giving them treats) while I held the grinder near their paws, then within minutes I was grinding their nails. Obviously they are not happy about me using the nail grinder them but they don’t freak out when I use it. It helps to have a second persto hold the dog and keep it calm. The device does a good job of filing down the nails. I like that it’s stone instead of sandpaper. It should last forever. I’ve got small, medium, and large dogs and this works for all of them. If this thing continues to work like it has so far.. no more trips to the vet for nail trimming!

So much better than the as seen tv ones. The diamond head files well without tearing up my dogs nails. I can apply pressure to grind down the nail and it still keeps spinning. My old as seen tv one would lock up and stop spinning with the slightest pressure. I like that this is rechargeable, no more dying batteries and expensive replacements. The only thing that would make this better is if it it would catch the dust; it does get everywhere, so use it in the bathroom or outside.

This nail grinder is awesome! I have a cordless Dremel, and while it can grind the nails down more quickly, it’s so much louder than this grinder that my dogs are bothered by the noise and do not tolerate it so well. I have two Akitas and a Dogo Argentino and this nail grinder works well all of them. It is slower though so it’s best used for regular maintenance rather than for dogs with really long nails. Don’t get me wrong – it does grind down the dog’s nails effectively, but it’s not as fast as clippers (also not as error prone). The charge holds really well. I was able to grind down the nails the back paws of my Akita, which hadn’t been trimmed in several months, shape and smooth the nails her front paws, which had been clipped just a few days prior, shape and smooth most of the nails my Dogo Argentino, grind down one nail my Dogo Argentino which hadn’t been trimmed for months because I missed it when I did the other ones, and the charge was still going strong after 15-20 minutes. I think it would take around 10 minutes to do one large dog using this grinder if you do nails every week or two and the dog isn’t being uncooperative. It works a bit faster if you hold the nail you’re grinding and put slight pressure it using the grinder.

I was a bit hesitant to order this but so glad I did! It was already charged and ready to go. It is so easy to use and my 1 pup seems to enjoy it. He just sits my lap while I file his nails. Grinder works well. I’m not sure my little BostTerrier like it a bunch, but we’ll work with it and peanut butter for distraction. It takes longer than a clipper, but no blood and no rough edges. It is also very light and easy to handle.

We have rescued dogs (and cats). for over 30 years continuously. All kinds of dogs, some biters, some friendly, some have not had a chance to be socialized. Some are elderly and some are puppies. Some are big and some are very small. One thing they all share is that in the beginning they are all afraid due to so many changes in their lives as they come into foster care for whatever reason. This grinder is without questithe best one I have ever used, EVER. It is light weight, very flexible from most any direction. It is quiet and gentle, cordless and rechargeable. Don’t even give it a second thought, you will love it. I rarely write reviews but this has made our life and the animals so much better.

This is awesome. I hate that clippers leave the claws so sharp not to mentiit’s easy to hit the quick in darker nails. With this I just did a little bit each day till they were the appropriate length then kept them up weekly. (My pup is still growing rapidly)The motor is quieter than other models I’ve used. A low hum. After charging it is a little bit louder but not by much. After a few minutes of running it it seemed to shift to a low hum. The grinder works well. The cap is handy with two slots for small and medium nails. Remove it for large (though the medium slot is quite wide). All in all, a get buy.

I am extremely pleased with this purchase. My dog is terrified of nail clippers and regular drimmels, to the point that he yelps as if in pain upsimply seeing the impliment. This is quiet enough that he will at least begrudgingly let me trim his nails. It is easy enough to use that I can get his nails done even when he is being a wiggle butt. My only complaint is that you need to charge it directly before use, as it seems to loose charge extremely quickly. It does have decent battery life during actual use when fully charged.

It is ing!! I am SO THRILLED I bought this! We actually had to stop going to the groomer because my boxer had such bad anxiety from the noise of the grinders they were using his nails. So I was clipping them at home and of course he hated that because of the feel. But this worked ing. He actually laid down and let me do his back paws once I was finished with his front because he didn’t mind it. I am in love with this grinder!!! I wish I could give you 10 stars!

I have a 5 month old miniature pinscher puppy and she let me clip her nails only once. Ever since I can’t even come near her with the clippers. Not even when she’s asleep as she knows immediately. She FREAKS OUT. When I brought the grinder near her, she was a little skittish. I left the cap and turned it and put it by her, and her, for quite a while till she wasn’t scared anymore. Then I started the nails. She didn’t like it at first but quickly got used to it. It grinds fairly fast once you figure out how hard to push. I was a little scared at first but once I figured it out it was very simple. It works pretty fast. Since this is my first puppy I searched out how to properly cut my dogs nails. That way I don’t hurt her. I’m so happy I bought his grinder! I’ve only used it once and If it starts to fail I will update my review.

My rescue pooch used to freak out when I’d take her to get her nails done. It took 3 groomers to clip her nails and they finally figured out that using a dremel was the best way to give her a pedicure. I paid close to the same for this dremel as I have paid to get her nails done. I bought this tool and it is so quiet that she hardly realizes what is going on.

I have a 6 month old BostTerrier that is afraid of EVERYTHING in regards to grooming. I was also procrastinating taking him to the groomers to get his nails trimmed. My dog hates having his nails trimmed. He scratches and whines and really stresses out. I hate using regular clippers because I have trimmed too much and made him bleed. This grinder is a lot safer for my wriggly dog. He was still stressing but I was able to complete all 10 nails and didn’t hurt him once. The only thing i don’t like is the dust that is created because both my dog and I breathe it in. The sound is also tolerable which is nice. Overall, definitely a product I will keep using!!

Arrived when promised. The nail grinder scared our puppy at first. But once he became used to the vibrations and noises, hebegan to accept it. We can only do one paw or toe at a time as he gets used to it. The grinder leaves the nails smooth and with no sharp edges to scratch our skin or more importantly our leather furniture. It works great, and the guard allows just the right access to trim the nails perfectly. The battery holds a charge a long time, and charges quickly. This is a great way to more gently and safely trim your dogs nails, I highly recommend this grinder.

Good product. Other reviews say it is slow to grind the nails. My big dog has thick nails and she hates to have her nails touched. This grinder does work slowly her nails – but it does work. My dog hates the time when I cut his nails. It is such a headache to cut his nails and then file it. So I gave it a try and I am glad I did. He is still a little hesitant to it (getting better each time) but so much easier to deal with. It is so easy to use and doesn’t leave sharp ends that needs to be filed. I am so happy and satisfied with this purchase. If your dog doesn’t like nail cutting, then you should definitely give it a try. Also the battery life is really good. I love this product!!! I worked in the pet retail industry for 13 yrs and watched our groomer wrestle with dogs that hated the sound or feel of the grinders and when I sold customers grinders they usually brought them back because their dog didn’t like it. This grinflder is sooo quiet and hardly vibrates at all. An electric toothbrush vibrates more than this grinder. I was very pleased I was able to do my puppies nails with less stress to her and will be using it my car as well.

This works really good! You do need to have patience though as doing all of the dog’s nails takes about 20-30 minutes. My dog hates getting her nails clipped and this way it is cheaper and also better for her. I give her treats as we do the nails so she’s pretty docile at the end.

Pretty good nail grinder. I’ve used it my mini Schnauzer, maltipoo, cane corso (115lbs and has thick nails), and my akita mix (he’s 70lbs and has pretty thick nails too). For my akita mix, it did take some time to get through his nails, but once I figured out a good method to grind his down, it went much quicker. Same for my mastiff. It was easy getting through the small nails of the small dogs. i would say that if you don’t havr the patience or your dog doesn’t, it wouldn’t be a great buy. My dogs do well staying still for a good 20 minutes to get through all their nails without stressing, so it wasn’t an issue for me.

I chose this grinder because reviews praised how its low volume reduced fear in the animals. My dog hates getting her nails trimmed. So far this grinder has worked wonderfully. My dog is not bothered by the sound. Although grinding is slower than clipping, I saved time from her being more cooperative.Recommendations: trim toe hairs first. Wipe the grinder with wet cloth or paper towel as you go, otherwise nail dust will pile up.PS: the purple color is cute. It looks like a toy.

I am very grateful to have found this Pet Nail Grinder. My little dog absolutely refuses to let me cut her nails. She struggles to the point where twice I have cut the quick of her nails, causing bleeding. Although it took a few tries for her to get used to the Hertzko Grinder, she now lies quietly and tolerates the process. I am so relieved to be able to keep her nails groomed without danger to her, and with less stress to both of us. Also, it is much quieter than the one I tried in the past, and the diamond bit is much more effective than the old sandpaper one, easy to clean, and does not need to be replaced. It takes a while longer than cutting, but is well worth it. Thank you!

First electric file I’ve ever used my dogs. My chichuaha and border collie/Aussie hate getting they’re nails clipped. We took a while to get them used to this…buzzing it next to them without touching them at first and then slowly starting to use it. Just like a diamond drill but glass, you have to have patience and slowly move the tool around and let it saw away without applying any forced pressure. Be patient and let the tool work for you and it will work great and be comfortable for your dog! I’m so happy I finally bought this. The charge lasted a long time as well. Both of my dogs nails we’re getting really overgrown and it lasted enough to file them all down. (I didn’t file them down to the quick but i did file them down quite aways. )

We used it for the first time last night, and it’s ing. We have two Siberian huskies, and one of them fell asleep while I was trimming her nails. The other one who’s hyper and fiesty wouldn’t sit still, but the nail grinder kept me from hurting him like I had before (I used to cut into the pink and make him bleed, or have jagged edges after I clipped his nails). Definitely get this. It will make trimming your dog’s nails so much faster and easier. The battery life is nice and long, too. It lasted well through the trimming of two big dogs and still felt like it could go longer. I just wish we’d gotten it sooner! Very highly recommended.

I’ve been nervous to try a pet nail grinder because of the cost and every one that I’ve seen has been extraordinarily expensive to even try or ran batteries. What I love about this grinder is that it’s QUIET. It makes very minimal noise so my 50 lb pup was not alarmed at all when I went to use it him. I love that it comes with a usb charger so there’s versatility in how to charge it. My dog wasn’t the biggest fan, but I don’t intend to return it at all because even though it wasn’t intended for me, I absolutely love using it to trim my own nails and as well as my keys who aren’t comfortable with clipping their nails yet. They think this is really cool so they don’t mind using it.

I got this for my dog because he gets so scared going to a place to get his nails trimmed. It’s super quiet and easy to use. He even laid the floor his side relaxed while I did each paw. A way better experience for him than me holding all 90 pounds of him from jumping off the table…again. I’m going to get more for my family members to use their dogs. Well worth the extra $5 to $10 for a quieter one.

I am a novice at grinding dogs nails, and I was very concerned whether I could do it or not, but I went ahead and purchased this because of the reviews. It took me awhile to get comfortable using this product, but since it’s really quiet it doesn’t scare the dogs, and I become more and more comfortable each time I use it. I am very satisfied. The only thing I can suggest is a way to know that the battery is fully charged, and put a light it so I can see the dogs nails better.

Not super soothing for my puppy, she still whined the whole time..but it’s a lot easier than regular clippers and I’m not as scared to cut too much. So far the battery life lasted at least one time…I haven’t used it again yet. I’m happy with my purchase since it was a lot easier for me to use than traditional clippers, I’m just hoping our puppy will get used to it and not be scared.

This grinder is quiet, wireless, and a nice size to hold and work with. The openings are perfect for my bulldog’s nails. She had no idea what I was doing and just laid in my lap. It took only seconds each nail and in a short time I was done. I am so pleased and would recommend this grinder to anyone who wants to use one their dog or animal. This nail grinder does a great job! I’ve never been able to cut my dogs nails because she freaks out anytime anyone but my wife does it. Even when my wife would do it, she’d need pieces of meat nearby to bribe the dog to stay. The dog would still try to pull her paw away the whole time. Because of this hassle, the dog’s nails are too long. So I was interested in a nail grinder but I didn’t want to pay for one of the expensive one’s from the pet catalogs/stores not knowing if it would actually make things easier for us. Then I found this Hertzo nail grinder . The price was great and made it worth the risk. We’ve had the grinder for 3 days now. The dog does get a little nervous with the quiet whirring noise the motor makes but she doesn’t try to get away. With a treat nearby, she cautiously allows me to grind her nails. I’ve been taking off a little every day to convince her that there’s nothing to be afraid of. I’ve already got her nails down to a healthier level. Very happy.

Love this grinder. It runs quiet and grinds & smooth my English bulldog’s long nails in 3 hours. It works way better than Dremel 7700. It does not irritate my doggy like Dremel did. My doggy even fell asleep sometimes during the grinding. 4 stars simply due to the LED light stays once it is fully charged, otherwise it will be perfect.

Simple little tool. It’s still audible, but my dogs were more curious than afraid of it. I’m still warming them up to it. My little dog has four dewclaws that grow fast but are really difficult to cut, especially since he’s so dark. Going to use this as an alternative. It runs right out of the package. The package is very easy to get open. Instructions are the back. Comfortable to hold but my hands are little. Easy to turn and off. The three modes are simple to figure out.I want to use it for my birds. There aren’t many clippers tiny enough and it’s very easy to cut too far. While no one likes hurting their pet, bleeding is considerably more dangerous for birds than dogs. The grinder is soft enough to touch with your fingers so I’m not worried about it hurting them.Very good alternative to clipping.

I tried trimming my dog’s nails with this, but it would take too long to grind them down with this. It’s absolutely great when I need to file her nails tho. It keeps her nails so they don’t us when she gets excited. I wouldn’t get this for a full trim, but highly recommend for keeping things neat.

I wasn’t sure if I would like this, well I wasn’t sure if my pets would like this. I have a large boxer, he is pretty much afraid of most things, but with this he does very well. I do have to use the clippers his nails first, but then I take this to dull down the rough edges the clippers make. My cats do not like the sound of it at all. I am able to use it one of my cats, she will put up with it, but the other two refuse to go near it. I suggest this for dogs over cats. It work really well, I love it.

So far so good. This thing is very quiet compared to pedipaws. It’s comes with a usb cable and a cap. The surface grinding area is smaller than the pedipaws. Overall we are happy with the price, shipping and product!

Delivery was fast, as stated when I ordered. I got this item because I have a very skidish rescue dog, who gets extremely car sick. I wanted to be able to do his nails at home, instead of having to load him into the car and take him to a groomer; a process that was extremely stressful for him and myself. I was shocked at how quiet it truly is. Glad I bought it.

Love it. My 75# Labradoodle just stares at me and the grinder with wide open eyes of confusibut allows me to do his nails. However, my super sensitive and squeamish Maltese that is 5# absolutely hates it and I bordeline have to force her or spread the grinding over several days to give her rest. Now the machine works just fine, it’s just one of my dogs doesn’t like it.I like that it has 3 settings: small, medium, and large dog nails.

Great little tool – conveniently recharges through a UCP cable. I have only had it for a short while but it looks to be solidly built and I expect it to last well and do what is needed to keep my dogs nails trimmed up and smooth. So far so good – completely satisfied.

It’s a grinder for your pets nails. It works as advertised but it’s best to use this outdoors as there’s a lot of fine dusted nail powder flying about. Wouldn’t want to breath that in! Also, it’s fairly quiet so my puppies aren’t super freaked out with this.

Seems to be a nicely made product but my dog can’t stand to be near it yet Still trying to get her used to the sound and vibration. To be fair she hates her nails done the traditional clipper way as well. It is quiet and holds its charge for a good long time.

Product is as described. It works well my dogs nails. It didn’t scare her or cause any discomfort. It leaves the nails smooth. No sharp edges like with the cutting type nail trimmers. I would purchase it again. The seller seems to be available in case of any problems. Five stars.

This is worth its weight in gold! It is extremely quiet and my dogs barely notice what is happening. I used it my 20 month old Yorkie and she was okay with it. She is used to clippers but this helps me get closer without cutting the quick and dulling the edges. The real test was to use it my 5 month Pappilion, who I have only had a month. Her breeder said she had to wrap her in a towel to clip her nails and was sweating afterwards. I tried it once with some, but little success. I have worked getting her used to me touching and massaging her feet and the moment of truth came yesterday. Uncovering her nails from the hair is the longest part. Once I put this to her nails she didn’t know what was going and just kept trying to lick the grinder, lol! She was fine with it touching her nails and never whimpered once and no struggles. I recommended this to her breeder and she is going to give it a try her dogs. There are specific spots for small dog nails, medium and large nails. It is rechargeable, included is a short usb cable that connects to your computer and doesn’t take much time to charge. When you get it, there is some charge to it. Definitely something to get if you have a squirmy, scared dog that hates their nails done. You should still get them used to you touching their feet, which is easy, but it’s a breeze after that!

I love the Hertzko! My Australian Terrier has black nails. He’s only 6 months old and I continually cut the quick with regular nail trimmers. The Hertzko is compact and light allowing for an easy trim. The trimming bit quickly trimmed and the quard helped round the nail. It’s quiet which doesn’t scare Banjo. It’s also easy to charge and store. We wBest of Winners after we used the Hertzko at this weekend’s show.

YES! Smoothing the tip of the nail with this grinder is so much easier than using a nail clipper, and I get done a lot quicker. The best part is that you can smooth over all the sharp edges/cracks of the nail, all without having to get close to the quick. (Of course I still recommend to be cautious because if your not paying attentiit CAN happen just like with anything else, obviously.) Anyway recommend 100%, nice job Hertzko. =D

The only issue I’ve had is having to remove nail dust from the grinding surface. My dog has extra thick nails (and dark) and hates getting her nails cut. She puts up with this well, and I could do all her nails without recharging it (though I give her breaks so I usually make sure it’s charged and haven’t had it die me yet). It also works great for my cat, it’s quick and doesn’t hurt him. I definitely recommend trying it! The head just needs to be cleaned of dust periodically during use.

This is an excellent product. After reading some of the reviews I made sure it was fully charged first. I have two dogs (Lhasa Apsos, and my sister has a Shitzu that is horribly afraid of having his nails done because a groomer had cut them down to the quick and didn’t even have the decency to tell my sister. They just put the putty in the nails – more than one. The putty came out and got blood all over her car the way home and poor little Cocoa was having a hard time walking for several days. With that said, we’ve been having a time of it trying to find a way to do Cocoa’s nails now.)I started out doing my dog white dog’s nails. He is the more skiddish one of my two. At first he was a little nervous, but once he saw it wasn’t going to hurt him, he let me do it. I was able to do all of his nails and they came out just beautiful. Then I moved to my gold dog’s nails. He’s very easy and let me do all of his nails, no problem. Again, the nails came out just lovely, but he has thicker nails and the Hertzko pet nail grinder didn’t have any problem at all grinding right through. Now Cocoa had been watching the whole process, so I got him up and started him. He fidgeted around a good bit, but the Hertzko nail grinder is so quiet and so gentle he let me go to work his nails. I did the first two and it started slowing down, so I had to put it back the charger. I’ve charged it overnight and it should be ready to go again the next time I have Cocoa (tomorrow I believe), so I will try to update this), but I’m very impressed. For those who said that it wouldn’t even do their dogs full set of nails, either they didn’t have it fully charged, their dogs nails were really long, or maybe their unit wasn’t working properly, but I surely had no problem doing two full sets of nails and starting a third set. I love the unit.My personal tip: When I do my dogs nails, and this will only work with small to mid size dogs, I find it is easier to sit in a chair holding the dog upright against me with my arm around them. I usually rub their belly and tell them how good they are. Then make sure that my demeanor is very calm and relaxed. The minute you get tense, they will get tense. Since I’m right handed, I hold them my left side with my left hand and start with their right paw, so their right front paw, so their left front paw is under my left arm. Once they see that it is okay and relax, it is okay from then on, but if they struggle a firm, but gentle “no” should do the trick. If they continue to struggle, reassure them, rub the belly a few times to calm them and start again. In my personal experience there has only been one dog that I needed to get out a spoonful of peanut butter, but that’s a last resort (lol). But the peanut butter will keep them busy – might get you messy, but will keep them busy. 🙂

We had a German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees mix who aren’t the biggest fans of nail trimming! They didn’t mind me using this at all! Since my kids’ nails were a little longer, I cut the tip of their nails first, then used the grinder to shape them up, and it did a great job! Nice product!

Nice little tool, dog is ok with it but a little skittish, will take time for her to get used to it. It also works well a nail fungus toenail to bring it down flat. If I don’t use it for the dog, it has other great uses.

  185. Rated 4 out of 5

I like it. The dog hates it. He really, really hates having his toes touched, so that’s not the fault of the product. That being said, I’m getting him used to it, and it appears to do a good job.

It’s smaller than a standard grinder, and easier to hold. It’s also much quieter, as the regular one terrified our dog and caused her to RUN. This one didn’t startle her and we managed to at least get her front feet done.

I will be honest at first I was hesitant. I have a small dog and big dog whom both have had bad experiences with nail trimming and grinding at the pet groomer. Needles to say I have to drug them to do there nails. BUT THIS PRODUCT IS AWSOME!!! It’s QUIET AND SMOOTH. They both sat and let me do it. White out being drugged . My husband said he thinks it was actually soothing for them. I think this is the best product the market. I did both dogs and still had full power .

This has stopped my dog’s fear of the nail clippers. We even go over his nails first with this product, then I come back with the regular clippers to get “a little off the top,” then back again to smooth it out with the nail grinder. He has mostly black nails, so it’s a lifesaver. It’s relatively quiet, though he knows the nail process is coming when it turns on. He doesn’t run away anymore, though! I do wish there were some more videos online that are a little clearer to follow in terms of what directito buzz, etc., but we figured it out.

It works very well. I think a larger, stronger product of this type would work better for my large German Shepherd. This is perfect for up to a medium size dog. It is works exactly as described and is very quiet. My dog is a big baby and he is now sitting quietly, with some dog treat briber, and letting me trim his nails. Good job!

I have three dogs. my 40 pound standard poodle it worked pretty well. Worked super well my 10 pound toy poodle, filed nails down really fast. my 75 pound Golden Retreiver mix….not so fast. The nails are probably too heavy for the tool, bogs down the motor. Gets the job done, just takes quite awhile. However, none of my three dogs are afraid of it. First time using it they all sat still just fine. The tool is pretty quiet. Beats clipping nails for sure.

Really great product. I usually take my boxer dog to get her toes grinded down and each time it cost me $10 so after a few uses this product would pay for itself. I like having the 3 size options so I could use it my Pomeranian mix as well. The product was already charged and ready to use and I was able to do both of my dogs toes without having to charge it. I only wish they included an instruction/safety manual to help me figure out how to safely use it my dogs and when not to over grind.

I bought this product in hopes it would be more effective than taking my shiba in to get his nails clipped. He had a terrible experience at a Petco where they clipped part of his paw pad off last year and it seems to have left him a bit traumatized. Since that, he has freaked out every time I’ve taken him in. The last time he scratched up one of the woman’s arms and tried biting her. I am so glad I found this product. I’ve only had the chance to use it once since I bought it recently, but so far I’m happy with it. The nail grinder is very quiet, not silent, but it’s just a soft buzzing so the sound didn’t worry my dog. He was still a bit anxious, but that was just because I was messing with his nails. It was very easy to use and did it’s job of grinding his nails down no problem. And I was able to do so without him scratching or biting me! I hope this helps some people that have nervous dogs like mine!

my dog IS VERY SENSITIVE to having his nails cut etc. I have been working with him for a week just to get used to the sound. Today for the first time I was able to use the device his front feet. It seems to do a good job but I couldn’t work his nails too long because he was getting too upset. However it seems better than working with clippers because I have to put a muzzle him because he bites defensively.

I highly recommend this product. The vet has to muzzle my 61 lb mixed breed to do his nails and I was a little nervous to try it myself. I have done 3 nails at a time and make sure to reward him with a big treat afterwards. It is very quite and really easy to use. My girlfriend bought a Dremmel tool and spent much more money and she tried it my dog and he wasn’t happy. The price is fantastic and better than giving my vet $20 a clip for a nail trim.

Great product. My 7lb. dog cannot stand to have her nails clipped, so would have to take her to the vet. I have used the grinder her one time and she is like a different dog while I am using it her. It is so quiet, she doesn’t mind the noise and I feel better, knowing her nails will be shortened without any problem and without having to go to the vet to get it done. I highly recommend.

I’m sure this nail grinder works, but my dog is very afraid of it. When I turn it on, it only makes a small buzzing sound, but that is enough to make my dog run to the other side of the room. My brother has used it to trim his nail and it works for him.

Yes! this is rechargeable and easy to use and store away. I love this, very convenient, saves money rather then groomer to charge. Please research how much nail to grind due to “quick portion” of nail and can be extremely painful to pet. Nail needs to be at angle.

I have an older dog that has always hated having her nails trimmed in any manner. I was stressful for her, me, and the techs trying to trim her nails. I have tried grinding her nails with a Dremel but she quickly associated that sounds with nail grinding and would run and hide. She was never in pain, just a nervous Nellie. This trimmer is ing! It is quick and quiet. The first time I tried this I put my dog’s Thunder Jacket her and was able to file down all her nails by myself! She tolerates having her nails done so well with this grinder and the process is so quick and efficient I am able to do it a couple times a week to get those long nails down to a manageable length. Fantastic!

Having a pit bull & an American bulldog/shepherd mix their nails are very difficult to cut in my own because of their thickness & my fear of cutting them too short or hitting the quick. The electronic nail grinder was great to use after trimming the nails to grind them down a little more without fear of cutting them to short. It’s fairly quiet & very easy to use. Definitely a great value for the price. I hope to get more use out of it.

I received this very quickly and to my ement it arrived fully charged. I tried it out myself first and it did a great job of grinding down one of my nails, although it did leave it a little rough and I wouldn’t recommend for use humans in lieu of a manicure. But it could work my husband’s Sasquatch toe nails. It has a cover that allows a limited surface for grinding small surfaces like dog nails, and you can remove the cover to expose the entire grinding wheel to tackle Sasquatch. I tried it the dogs and although they were leery at first, they did allow me to trim their nails. I think they will get used to it over time. It does a good job and doesn’t scare me like the nail clippers do as I can see how much nail is being removed.

This product was perfect for my needs. I was using a pedi paw but it broke. I was looking for something recargable and something that I didn’t need to keep replacing the file. You need to be patient, as the file or grinding of the nails takes some time. It’s best to not let the nail get to long. I use the nail grinder once a week. My yorkie gets all excited and thinks it’s a game. If your pet is afraid of it at first. Just keep trying every day, or every other day. My dog hated it at first and now she loves it.

This nail grinder is awesome! I have a 1 yr old pup that went from letting me clip her nails to not letting me touch them at all. Found this great deal a grinder and thought what the heck; this grinder is so quite she doesn’t even hear it coming and the grind doesn’t put any pressure her toes like a clippers can. The only cI can see right now is that it seems to take longer than say the dremmel at the vets office BUT I’ve yet to charge it so that might be my issue. Regardless 5 stars!

I am so happy with this product!! I bought a nail clipper first to start skipping the dog spa. I couldn’t use them! I was so afraid I would hurt the pups! This nail grinder is quite and so easy to use. Jager wants his nails done. Savvy is a little skidding but let me trim them. It took 2 minutes at the most to trim them all. I’m so happy and so are they!🐶❤️🐶

This is a cute grinder for the go or calm relaxed nail grinding. The noise is very low so the pups aren’t hugely effected by it. It does however take longer than the bigger higher speed grinders. I use it my small dog and it works great. I have used it a rottie who is a bit more of a scardie cat and he did fine. I sat the couch while watching tv to do his nails. It takes a bit longer his thick nails so we use it as a desentitizing tools as well.

It has worked wonderfully my lab and heeler. It’s not too loud which I think helps them be more accepting of it. The grinder is powerful, but not so much that it’s difficult to safely trim the nails. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone with a dog that is not very tolerant of nail trimming. I was sure that my heeler was going to freak out, but he was surprising calm about it.

Pawsome nail grinder! Just used it for the first time and I am SO impressed that I ordered a second one. It’s very quiet, charge was sufficient to trim all four paws X 2, and I don’t have to worry about getting their hair caught in it. My boys are only 20 lbs and I can’t imagine this grinder working very large dogs, but I could be wrong. I noticed right away that they were more accepting if this particular grinder vs my old one, which is noisy and uses the sandpaper rings which have to be replaced often. So happy with my new Hertzgo nail grinder!

It does the job, but it really seems too weak for my dogs nails. It takes a long time to grind down and I can’t get through a single grooming without it going dead and needing to recharge. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just probably better for smaller dogs.

Why did I not get this sooner?! I’ve been using a Dremmel to trim my dog’s nails for about two years. This is a millitimes better! It runs at the perfect speed, is super quiet, is cordless, you can sand the side or the top, and it is so easy to handle! My dog and I are both so happy to have trimming time cut in half and so much more stress free. She almost feel asleep at one point in time. I did remove the safety guard, as I didn’t want the nail to get pinched in it. Absolutely love this product!

I find the #1 quality of this grinder is the noise level. Basically, there is none. Having 3 show dogs, that has always been my quest to find a quiet grinder. Dogs HATE having their nails done. I was curious to give it a try and to my surprise it is indeed very, very quiet. Tried it very quickly one of the dogs and was happy to see that this grinder did not bother him even as I had him stand. Usually, I am the ground with him in my lap and with him at 65 lb., this was a welcome relief. I didn’t go looking for this item, it just popped up at the right time. And I’m quite happy to have found it.

Loving this! I have a Doberman pinscher and a miniature pinscher so I thought this product would be great because of the different sizes it serves and because with 2 dogs who have black nails it seems safer than nail clippers. To be honest the ports didn’t matter, I ended up using the big dog “port” for both dogs and it worked wonderfully. My big Doberman laid back as if he were at the spa. My miniature took a bit more coaxing as she didn’t like the sound. It’s not loud, probably the equivalent of a cell phone consistently vibrating, but she went bit crazy at first. She did calm down eventually and it works great. It’s quick and nails are smooth and as short as possible without hurting the dogs

I liked it mainly for the look and it comes with a nail guard so good for my pets. It just arrived , I am so happy with this nail grinder. Works very smoothly and especially for the guard it is very versatile could be used for both large and small dogs. My dog hated manual nail clipping. I couldn’t do it myself, so I usually brought her to the pet store. It’s always a struggle. Seeing her scared and stressed wasn’t a good time for either of us. This nail grinder did the trick! She was mad for a minute but let me trim her nails without any struggle. Battery life is quite good, as well! Wish it had a different color though, purple isn’t exactly the ‘manliest’ color lol.

We have a 5lb Chihuahua (Taco) and a 10lb Poodle (Teddy) that seem to need their nails clipped at least every other week. Taco will tolerate it, begrudgingly, but Teddy ABSOLUTELY HATES nail clippers! No matter how much my husband and I tried to coax him with love and treats, he would squirm, run, and cry. We have had some luck with professional groomers, but even they admitted that getting his nails done was not an easy task. With that being said–this tool is WONDERFUL! It’s not loud and takes away my fear of clipping too close to the quick. Teddy was a little scared at first, but with some belly rubs and soft praise he came around in no time. His nails now look better than ever! Taco was also a little unsure of the vibratiat first, but he also adapted quickly 🙂

Works great. Have used battery operated nail grinders my dog before and they were always weak and could be easily stopped. This nail grinder has a bit more power and a great bit, its closer to a Dremil tool. Nice and quite so it wont startle your cat or dog. love that it is rechargeable.

I love this nail grinder! I am scared to use the clippers my dog’s nail after accidentally clipping too short one time. This this works great. I was able to file my 90lbs lab’s nails easily. He sat pretty calmly for the whole process which is saying a lot since he has to be sedated to be examined by the vet. His nails are in great shape and I was able to do it in the comfort of my home without having to sedate my dog. I was able to do all four paws in one charge. For his larger nails I took the guard off completely. I would definitely recommend this.

After having done brief research into the various pet nail grinders and not being able to justify the cost of the pricier models in the instance my dogs refused to allow me to use it their nails, I decided to give this a try. I don’t think it is strong enough to file down seriously overgrown nails BUT it did easily grind down and smooth the edges I always get after using a nail trimmer, it’s light weight and quiet (i think the vibratiwas more bothersome to my smallest dog). I was able to complete all four paws that small dog and the unit still seemed to have enough charge power.

My Stewie likes this grinder a lot better than the regular dermal. It’s much more quiet, gentle – even if you’re the quick- and super easy to handle! I used to take Stewie to the groomers just to do his nails because I felt uncomfortable using a dermal – it just felt so heavy duty – and I refused to use or let anyone use clippers him. After I purchased this grinder, I took him to the groomer and had them try it him and they LOVED it. In fact, they liked it so much that they now use it the nervous/scared pups and have great results.

I have three small dogs who hate getting their nails trimmed. I was looking for an alternative to having to pay to get them clipped. This item is exactly what I was looking for.Pros: Trims fast, easy to useCons: It takes two people if your animal won’t stay still due to the vibration. I doesn’t hurt, but the dogs get wiggly. I think with time they wil get used to it.

works great and it’s much faster than the old ones that need batteries and use the traditional emery board style tips

I bought this a whim. I have 6 dogs. Yes, six dogs. No, really. And not little dogs. I digress…Trying to clip all of their nails is a monumentous task but this litte gadget does a great job and none of the dogs really cared much about it. Great product. Stays charged to do multiple dogs one charge.

Best nail grinder i have used. This one is very quiet compared to others. The filing head has slots for 2 different sizes & the cover can be removed for larger dogs which is perfect since I have different size dogs. It is not harsh like some others so very smooth in trimming the dogs nails. It is lightweight & easy to handle while holding my dogs. Very pleased with this one.

Works beautifully and quickly. Barely makes a sound so it didn’t scare my dogs too much. It’s rechargeable as well, which made it so much better.I definitely recommend this to people who are wary of clipping their dog’s nails. It is worth it.

I wish I could write a real review, but the moment I took it out of the box, my dog know what was up. Once she heard the motor she was quick to try to get away. I was able to trim one nail a little, but she wasn’t having it. It’s not an issue with your product, my dog is a coward.

This product works great but my dog hates it. The second it turns on, it sends my dog into full-panic mode. I’ve given it full stars as the product is great for the cost and works well our Bostterrier’s nails. Unfortunately, we are using it as a little dremel tool now and have returned to regular nail clippers (that he doesn’t mind at all).

This is my first time using anything to trim my cats nails, so I was very scared at first to not cut down too far. But this makes it quite easy to file nails down without going too far. My cat still hates it and tries to run away when i use it, but at least there is no risk of accidently snapping too far with nail clippers if he jumps.

Works beautifully for my bulldog. My dog used to only let me trim the tips with a guillotine style clipper – if I trimmed anything more than the tips, he would cry and pull away. As a result, his nails kept growing longer and longer, even though I would trim the tips. He actually didn’t pull away with this tool, and I was able to grind his nails down much farther than I would have been able to trim with a clipper. The tool is strong and grinds pretty quickly – you just need to touch the area you want to grind and the nail disappears quickly. It’s pretty quiet. I have no complaints.

Only used this 3 times so far but it was great. My dog is a rescue &very jumpy. Is terrified easily because of her prior situation. She has been very resistant to everything I tried. She has done great so far with this. I started with just turning it in front of her then placing it her paw to feel the vibration. Then I used it 2 nails only & just a little. I waited 2 days to try again she did better. I used the same method. I die it again the next day & she let me do all her nails. Although she still doesn’t like it I am encouraged.

I have tried many drumels for my dogs nails but when I turned them it freaks my dog out with the loud noise. When I turn the electric nail grinder it’s quiet and my dog doesn’t even flinch. I believe the hardest part of nail grooming is to get your dogs confidence and allowing you to trim the nails. This product just adds to the ease of securing this confidence.

Great product, as other’s have noted, it is seriously really quiet and smooth operatiwhich is perfect for more anxious dogs/pets. Quality is good and overall very satisfied with the purchase. There are many out there that are same/similar, but I actually bought one first from another seller and had to return immediately because of defective charging, and this one is perfect right away, no issues, so I would definitely recommend this seller and product over the others!

Works well so far! Quick and easy to use for my cats, compared to clipping. There is a slight burning smell when in use, but I believe that’s to be expected, since the grinding down of the pet’s nails is essentially burning it off. I’ll have to try it out my bird’s nails when I get a chance, but I imagine it’ll still be easier than clipping. Product arrived quickly and in great shape.

This gadget was a godsend for my 2 skittish chihuahuas. I’d have to take trips to their vet to have their nails trimmed but now I can do at home my couch. My female has thinner nails and lets me file them but my boy was another story. His nails are thick and some black. He has a few that dangerously curve into his paw pad and he doesn’t like those touched. The day I received the nail grinder, I let him smell it while off and on. I laid him his back and kept telling him what a good boy he was and he surprisingly let me dig into those nasty curvy ones. I did his front paws and let him rest and rewarded him with lots of treats. A few days later he let me do his hind legs while he willingly dozed his back. I’m so glad I bought this item and recommend it highly for those whose dogs won’t let them normally cut their nails. This suffices without causing anxiety and bloodshed!

I had a hard time trimming my cat’s nails. She used to hiss, kick, and bite me during the whole process. I was afraid to injure her by accident. With this nail grinder, the amount of hissing and kicking decreased significantly, and it’s safe even when my cat tries to kick.

The grinder is quiet and very comfortable to hold while working my pup’s nails. Do acquaint your dog with the device before attempting to use it their nails. While it is quiet, it still produces a unknown sound that not all dogs are comfortable with at first. Be patient as it does work well. The only (minor) unpleasant aspect of grinding the nail is that it produces an odor akin to having your tooth drilled at the dentist.

My dog HATES having his paws messed with. And he tolerated me grinding his claws to a reasonable length. This pet nail grinder is quiet, powerful, and the grinder head will last forever. I highly recommend this product. When the one I just got wears out, I’ll be getting the exact same thing.

Nice! Sleek design. Easy to hold. Most of all, QUIET! I tried it one of my dogs nails. She was skittish at first, but when she realized it wasn’t going to hurt her, she stopped pulling back from me. I plan trying it again with her tomorrow and a little each time, to get her used to the feel and the sound of the trimmer period but, it is very very quiet period I would highly recommend but those of you that have dogs that hate to have their nails trimmed.

Best nail grinder I have used. So thrilled no batteries and no replacement heads! Works wonderfully, has different opening options which makes positioning of tool much easier, grinds quietly and efficiently. Much less stress for my elderly dog who has little patience for grooming. Wonderful product, wish my old one had given out years ago. Highly recommend this product.

I was sick of nicking my 2 little Pom baby’s cuticles and had been considering a grinder for years. I knew grinding takes forever but if your the couch might as well. I was afraid of the Dremel although I know it’s an incredible grinder but since this is my first I thought I would start with something smaller and not so powerful . This is the perfect size for little ones, it recharges quickly and is very, very quiet so it doesn’t scare my little girls. I wish the grinding stone was just a little bit courser because it is taking forever to grind these girl’s nails down ! That said I do recommend the grinder and I really like it .

So far, so good. I think this will be the way to go with our Alaskan Husky. She is touchy and this grinder seems to bother her less than using a clipper. As for the cats (13), I only have a few who don’t keep their claws trimmed their own. I haven’t gotten my nerve up to try this with the others, but I will. I’ll be curious as to how long the grinding wheel will hold up. But again, so far, so good. The little Hertzko grinder is performing as expected.Dan WintersHampton, VA

Works great my dogs nails. Takes longer than clipping but it doesn’t seem like it does as much damage to the nail and I can trim much better without worrying so much about trimming to far back. I am using it a 6 year old golden retriever and a 6 month old retriever.

it’s true that it makes very little noise. BUT it takes long time to trim… Lower power = less noise… not very useful for trimming 50lb dog’s nails who doesn’t like the trimming….

We have a mixed shepherd with large nails and this works but is sort of slow going. Our dog is afraid of most noises and we had to really hold her tight the first time we used the grinder. After a few attempts with many treat breaks she finally got sort of OK with the noise and vibratiher paws. For small nails it would probably work quicker.

Works very well nails for medium breeds and small breeds dogs as we have a lab mix and a min pin and a bulldog mix. Nail grinder is very quite much quieter than the ones and the nail salons use. I even used it my tortoises nails and it worked very well

Just recently received the electric pet nail grinder for my 55 lb boxer, I only need this for his front nails as he keeps those backs ones pretty well worn down. I never liked the job they do at the groomers for his nails, I used this just this past week end and as he was not too happy with having his nails done this did a wonderful job at taking off those sharp tips and getting a blunt nail his front paws. I do not feel like it caused him any pain just the fact he does not like having his nails touched and being restrained.

We bought this nail grinder to take the sharp edges off our min poodle’s nails after she goes to the groomer. It works very well for that. It’s not too loud and very easy to use. The manufacturer should definitely print larger and more in depth instructions. This tool could be extremely dangerous in the wrong hands. Only people who know what they are doing should attempt to use this. Keep away from children. That being said, it’s still a great little tool for small pets and the price is great!

Love it so far. minimal vibratiand noise, my 16 lb. dog wasn’t afraid. I have minimal experience with trimming dog claws, cutters, files and such, but this was the best experience so far! One caution, if your pet has fine, soft hair like mine does it tends to get caught easily in things like this. going to try a little water her paw fur next time to help keep fur out of the path of the grinder. I like the grinding wheel, shaves quickly but not too quick, metal surface seems like it will last, like my favorite nail file. Lots of dust though. Not sure about the battery charging. How long for a full charge? Can it be over charged? Any sign of when charging cycle complete? No informatithis with the product.Update: Tom, from the company, contacted me to let me know it takes one or two hours to charge the grinder. Still happy with the purchase so far. I think I’ll upgrade review to 5 stars.

I have now had a chance to use it. It is very quiet. I have poor vision, so it helps me to groom the dogs’ nails with less fear of hurting them. There are good instructions for it. It is very light and comfortable to hold, even when my dogs fight me. (They have been hurt in the past with the many other clippers I have used.)I liked it so much that I purchased a second one.

This grinder works great my 2 little Papillons. They HATE the “click” sound of regular nail clippers (and run and hide when I bring them out), but the buzzing sound of this doesn’t seem to bother them in the least. Big relief to be able to do their nails with no drama LOL.

FINALLY! My dogs don’t have a breakdown or bite when doing their nails! I have tried everything to trim my 2 chihuahua’s nails and it was NOT going to happen. The vet had to muzzle one of them. Not any more! This is THE BEST tool I have found LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! This great little tool pays for itself first go. So quiet that I just couldn’t hear it…my husband couldn’t hear it! Excellent. The directions were hard to see the back of the product (the pictures anyhow) but it’s pretty straight forward how to use this product. Works excellent. Was able to do my German Shepherd’s front and back nails one battery charge (that’s including time that the grinder was still running and my dog was fussing). It’s quiet. My dog did not like it, but she doesn’t really like any kind of “sit still” grooming moments, so I can’t fault the clippers for that. Received timely.

Finally, a tool that I can use to take care of my dog’s long nails. Every time I have to use a regular nail clipper, I need 2 extra hands to hold a pug. As soas I received the pet nail grinder, at first she would pull her paws away, but in the end she let me without help. It is very smooth and it emits the lowest sound possible. Great investment

So far I really like this product. Unlike with the regular nail clippers, I am not afraid to use it my dog’s claws. And, he is not afraid of it like he is the clippers. It is so quiet, he doesn’t really notice it, and I am also more relaxed while I am handling him because I am not afraid that I will hurt him. What a relief it is to be able to take care of his little feet without fear! I haven’t used it the cat yet, but I am anticipating less crazy with her, as well. One thing, though…I wish it had a way to collect the dust generated by the grinding. That would be a nice feature, and maybe something I will look for in a future product of this kind. Otherwise I am delighted with this tool.

I received an email from Tom today, he just wanted to check in and see how things were going with the Pet Nail Grinder? I love to get emails from merchants that truly care about their customer’s satisfactiwith their product 🙂 Let me begin by saying, that this grinder is not loud. I love the safety feature and usb charging cord (that does come with it) it’s light weight and portable. The thing I loved most was that I did all 3 of my fur baby’s nails! I have 2 nail bitters and their nails are always rough and they snag my sweaters. This worked better than anything I have used. Their nails are not ruff or jagged anymore and to my complete ement my Yorkie (who is afraid of her own shadow) sat completely still while I used it her. I Love this product!! I definitely recommend it.*I bought this item a lightening deal but was given nothing for this review. It’s my personal opini:-)

My 115lb dog is deathly afraid of having her nails clipped, even at the groomers (maybe especially at the groomers because I’m not there, the big baby). I read the reviews for this grinder and thought I’d give it a go…It’d be cheaper than paying for nail clipping that never got finished! Anyway, I am more than pleased with the grinder…the dog was also skeptical at first but with our 6 year old rubbing her belly, she endured the torture and I finally was able to get her nails done. The grinder held its charge for quite a while and is very effective. The dog did not freak out at all like she does when we get the nail clippers out, so I highly recommend this product.

My dog doesn’t really like the sound of feel, but I’m still training him to get used to it. Otherwise, it is a nice value product. Love the fact that it is usb rechargeable. At first, I let my dog listen to the sound and gave him a treat. He gets scared of everything, so I’m trying to slowly introduce this to him whenever I can. Hopefully one day he will stop biting me whenever I try to use this him…

This is a wonderful product for the primary reasthat the motor is quiet and doesn’t scare my dog. My other grinder terrified my dog and sent her into shakes before I even started. This grinder is much quieter and though my dog was suspect, she didn’t shake when I did her nails. The one downside was that it does take a while to do her nails; it’s not as quick as the other grinder, but I’ll take it over a terrified dog.I also love that it is rechargeable and doesn’t require batteries!

As a veterinarian I have encountered many solutions for trimming pet nails, but none are as versatile or as delicate as this nail grinder. It is quiet enough not to irritate most animals if a small amount of time is taken to conditithem to the sound. I have a dog who is so frightened for nail trims that I need to medicate her just to do them. I turned this product and gave her a handful of treats while I let her get used to the sound, and in 5 minutes I had ground down all of her nails without any resistance. It works well cats and small mammals, and I imagine it would work well birds. Larger dogs may take longer and you may need to charge the product between feet, but if you have a pet who is fearful of nail trims then it is definitely worth doing one foot at a time to avoid the struggle and stress of traditional clippers.

I give this a four star review because I thought the grinder was going to work much quicker than it does. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my purchase. My husky is skittish of just about everything so it took some coaxing. But she didn’t whine in pain like she does with guillotine nail trimmers. The grinding just took forever but seems like it was effective, for at least one time through. I plan to file down her nails again soand we’ll see if it works just as good then.

I have a tiny, bouncy little dog and she just will not sit still for nail trims. Being afraid of hurting her I had been taking her to our Vet’s to have them trimmed. My Daughter-in-Law, Monica, files her dogs nails with one of these and highly recommend the Electric Pet Nail Grinder for me to try out. I am so glad that I decided to! This nail “trimmer”, as I call it is perfect! It’s easy to handle and does a really fast neat job of smoothing the tips of my Tiny Dawg’s nails. I allowed her to “examine” it turned and the turned off. She became used to the sound of it and now let’s me pick up her paws and use it to smooth the tips weekly. I highly recommend it for pet safety and a good “doggy pedicure” instead of trying to trim the nails with a regular trimmer that can cause cuts into the nail beds.

My dog is extremely afraid to have her nails trimmed, so needless to say, her nails are very long. I purchased the Electric Pet Nail Grinder by Hertzko to see if it would be better for her than clipping. I was a little disappointed because the vibratiwas a bit louder than I expected, however, I turned it and let her inspect it. Once he had a few minutes to check it out, I held her and my daughter started filing her nails. After a few moments of fighting, she realized it didn’t hurt and she patiently waited until all her nails were trimmed. I am so in love with this Nail Grinder!!!

I am always so scared to clip my Pomeranian’s claws, so I have been paying the vet to do them, even though she has nice white claws you can see the quick. I purchased this to see if I could use it without being scared to hurt her. IT WORKS! At 9$ every time I took her to the vet this is going to save me tons of money! It works really nice, is pretty quiet and she is done in no time! I will note that it will stink (think burning hair) and lots of nail dust!

item reasonable priced. the buzzing was a little un nerving for the cats. if you use the top area of the grinder that seemed to bother their nails more than is using the side. it does produce some dust from grinding, so don’t wear nice pants as you will get dusty. took about a little longer to grind nails than a conventional trimmer, but much safer and less chance of hitting the vein.

It’s the quietest one I’ve ever owned and it works with my 4 small inside dogs. With one charge I can do 1 dog 4 paws for sure and possibly 1/2 of another. With that being said, not sure it has the power for a big dog. Inside dogs perfect!

I always wondered why during every Lightning deal this pet nail grinder usually sells out. I’m a pro groomer and I do nails daily. But I ordered this, thinking one more tool couldn’t hurt, and that I could order one for everyone in the shop if they were good. Well, compared to our battery operated Dremels, this product is only good for smoothing the rough edges a nail. Don’t expect it to take off any length unless you want to be like Rip Van Winkle and fall asleep for a hundred years. Your dog isn’t going to be that patient. The top does come off for those who want to use the entire edge of the grinder bit, but seriously I tried this my own nail, and it still took quite a while to file any of it down. Dog nails are much tougher, and this just doesn’t have the grit or power to do the job. The only good thing is that you cannot hurt your dog with this, they’re just too slow and not fast. I recommend you get a decent battery operated cordless Dremel if you want to do your dogs nails in any reasonable amount of time. You can choose a selectiof their grinding bits or their sanding drums. The bit in this grinder is not easily replaceable, but even if you could, it’s lacking the speed and power to do your pets nails. It is quiet, rechargeable with a USB cord, but basically useless for anything other than a quick smoothing finish.Don’t waste your money, unless that’s all you want. A good Dremel that can do the job can be found sale for just a bit more money. I would’ve definitely bought a dozen if they had the speed and power needed, but it doesn’t, not even for one dog.

An absolutely excellent tool for grinding down a dog’s nails. It is much more quiet than using a dremel, and that works well for dogs who are skittish about having their nails clipped or ground down. We use this for our 70 pound aussie shepherd, and if it is FULLY CHARGED, it will grind down the nails all four paws in one use.

DOES A GOOD JOB OF GRINDING DOWN THE LARGE DOG NAILS. Will bog down if you press too firmly. Hoping the wheel will remain sharp as opposed to the sanding drums I have been using. Also the battery to hold a charge over time is too early to tell.

I use this all of my cats and my guinea pig without them struggling and me being afraid of hurting them. To shorten the cat’s nails it’s easiest to do it when they’re taking a nap already. They tolerate it, which is really all I can ask for.

This grinder Is small, lightweight, easy to grip, almost completely silent, and super effective. I have an 80 pound 26 inch tall boxerpointer mix, he is very anxious and has very sensitive feet and this grinder does not bother him in the slightest. I am able to grind his nails without any help which is awesome. the head is small enough to get his dew claws easily as well. the charger works great and each charge lasts at least long enough to do all four paws twice. great grinder for the value, at a pet store these go for 50-100 dollars. the “guide” is removable if you feel comfortable with using it without the guide hole (I do) this also makes it easy to clean off. over all 10/10 an awesome product. * I did not receive any discount of free merchandise for my review, this is just my real and honest opinias a dog owner who cant get near her dog with traditional clippers*

My dog gets horribly stressed with grooming and nail clipping, and seeing as she is about 13 years old I try not to stress her out too much. Purchasing this was my final attempt for at-home grooming and I’m so happy to say that IT WORKED. While she wasn’t a fan of the buzzing, once she was settled in and realized the nail grinder would do no harm to her, she was calm and I was able to finish grinding down all four paws in no time! It took about 20 minutes to finish and the battery stayed strong through to the end without any previous charging. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a stressed pup when it comes to nail clipping, just make sure that the fur around the nail is trimmed before using the nail grinder so as to not get any fur pulled by the grinder.
