This brush works well especially that fact that you press the buttand all the fur easily comes off. Unfortunately for me, the brush is too large for my Ragdoll cats. I have to attempt to turn it sideways in order to brush around their head and neck area. I will only use along with the spray for matt removal.

I bought this brush for 2 dogs with longer hair, and it works great at removing all the loose hair. The extra is I live in a rural area with lots of weeds and there are these little round stickers that stick to the dogs coats and this brush is Great in removing this stickers out of there coats and you just push the buttand all the stickers fall into the garbage. This is so great as I use to get these little stickers in my fingers when I would pull them out.

I’ve tried these “self-cleaning” brushes before and was not impressed. I’ve got shelties losing their woolly undercoats and this brush makes it easy to drop the collected fur and keep going. Fairly easy to use one handed (with a tight grip the unhappy pooch with the other hand!). Hopefully, the push buttrelease will hold up because the brush seems well made and sturdy. Not as bulky as others I have used, so easier to get under legs, around the neck, ears, and tail. I’d recommend it.

My little dog (a mini Aussie) had a real fear of anything looking like a brush, perhaps due to previous owner. So it was a chase to find her and get her groomed. After trapping her in a corner and lots of sweet talking she was actually presenting the part that she wanted brushed next. The convenience of just removing a brush free full of hair with one click is just great.Would enthusiastically recommend this brush to all.

I love this brush! It’s large enough for my collie. It’s excellent at combing through her fur and it does not hurt her skin. For me it’s wonderful that I don’t get poked or hurt by the tines of the metal brush. It cleans with a click of a button. I’d recommend this product to anyone who brushes their dog! (Or wants to brush their dog but does not want the pain of pulling the hair from the tines of the brush) It’s also rounded the corners!

I have a furminator for each of my pets and it does the trick BUT, they seem to prefer this brush and actually purr and settle in for a good brushing when I use it as opposed to the sorrowful escape attempts that are made with the furminator. The furminator definitely gets A LOT more loose hair out and is easy to clean but this is easier to clean and my fur children prefer it – that means I prefer it as who want to fight their children to brush their hair?

Hi. My name’s Angel and I was just adopted by a new family. They were completely clueless about the amount of hair I lose ever day since they had wiener dogs (*snort* not even real dogs. Basically bald. Sheesh) before me.They NEEDED a brush.Seriously.I was dying from the heat here in the Pacific Northwest.Luckily my new mom found this and got it ordered right away. She was in such a hurry to get it that she didn’t even notice the teeth are retractable. Woohoo! Easy cleanup! Bonus for her! She’s now trying to figure out how to donate all my old hair to all of those pathetic, bald Doxies.Oh, one tiny negative thing. It took a while to get here and the darn company started emailing the day after it was ordered asking for a review. It made Mom kinda cranky since she hadn’t even received it yet. She wanted me to ask them to chill with the emails. But the brush is awesome. Definitely recommend it . It’s inexpensive and totally worth any amount of money. Not that I bought it or anything. I don’t have any cash since she refuses to pay me for all the work I do around here. Sheesh

This is such a great idea I don’t know why it wasn’t thought of long ago. No more sharp wires sticking me in my fingers while trying to get the fur out! And not only do I love this brush, so does my cat. She sheds so badly and she hated being brushed. I don’t blame her, those wires are sharp. But she stands the floor and let’s me brush her till I get tired!!! No more fighting to get the mats out of a long hair cat that hated being brushed! ing…thanks for making us both happy.

Most wonderful brush I’ve ever found. I have a very long haired cat. It has a tendency to mat badly around the base of her tail. She would never let met touch it. This slicker brushed combed it right out. Unloading the hair was a dream. As a bonus she loves to be brushed, now. Great product. Highly recommend.

Best pet brunch ever! Better than furminator brush (which fell apart after a few uses). This brush is great! Just push the buttto extend the bristles, the push again to retract the bristles, and blow or take the fur off without getting your fingers hurt. It’s also lightweight which is a plus! At a decent price too, I highly recommend this product!

First time leaving a review but I keep getting emails to write one so here I am. Did not work. I loved the idea of having the buttthere to get the hair off the brush, but the brush simply didn’t not get hair off of my dog. It also left scratches up my dog’s back after gentle use where the bristles are too now my dog still needs to be brushed but I have to wait until his scratches heal so more damage isn’t done. Very disappointed.

While this product is a great idea, which is why I gave it 5 stars, i had trouble using it. It works really great and my Kato LOVED having his back brushed. I have a mini Aussie with medium growth hair. My issues were 2 fold. 1. The glive is way too big for my hand size. I wear a small to medium glove and this is like a large to xlrg. Therefore I could not get the kind of use that say a man would have or a larger boned female. 2. The wrist velcro closure is wayyyyy to small. I have a very small wrist and if worn properly, I can’t close it. If I can’t close it around my wrist, a large wrist petsmost definitely would not be able to close it around their wrist. If these 2 areas were addressed with the design team, I would buy another glove and try it.

I gave this 3 stars because it is a neat idea but it is not for anyone who can’t hold a buttdown continuously while grooming their pet. If you have arthritis or weak thumbs or fingers you will not like this product. Wish they had a way to double-click the buttto have the teeth stay out while grooming. My only optiis to tape the buttdown and untape it when done, so I had to return it.

We have 4 dogs (2 mixed breeds, an Australian shepherd, and a German shorthair) and with the varying coats we’ve had a bunch of brushes. This brush works wonderful 3 of the 4 (our GSP just doesn’t need a slicker type brush). Would recommend using this slicker brush at the end of your brushing routine if you have dogs with thick undercoats. One of our mixes is a husky mix and its basically a requirement that we use a Sleekez or similar undercoat brush to get down deep. This does the job, but in a lot longer time. Still VERY happy with this brush, the self clean feature is wonderful, just a couple strokes down the dog, click the button, drop the hair, keep brushing. I did notice the buttis a little difficult to click with my mid-length nails, but I feel like its still well placed and strong enough to last without failing so I’m not taking a star off for my personal grooming habits.

  15. Rated 5 out of 5

My dog’s hair was terribly matted. This brush got it clear with just a few strokes. I had used several types of brushes before, but this one beats them all hands-down! It is cheap, easy to use, and unbelievably easy to clean. Just a click of the button, and the matted hair falls off, and the brush is ready to go again. Our dog hated other hair clearing brushes because they are usually too harsh. I hated them because they were a pain to clear. The brush arrived early and in in perfect condition. Thanks again for such a wonderful product.

This brush works really well for combing my pet’s fur. I use it to detangle her long hairs. She usually doesn’t need brushing but after a while, her appearance gets matted. I find that this brush is very easy to use and ergonomically friendly. You simply push a buttdown to release the needles. Then, you brush your animal. The needles can really dig into where their skin and fur meet. It doesn’t hurt my cat. She enjoys being brushed with this tool. After I am done, I push the buttto release the excess picked up fur into the trashcan.

Purchased this Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush from A1ProDeals in December 2016, so have had it now for about a year and a half. Should have reviewed it sooner, but if I had I probably wouldn’t have given it a full five stars. Shortly after receiving and using it, it became increasingly difficult to retract the wire bristles to clean it (as some of the negative reviews had warned). I had to push so hard that I was sure something was going to break. My solution: I sprayed pure silicone spray into the brush with the bristles retracted, then sprayed a stream of silicaround the push-button, hoping it would reach the retracting mechanism inside. I considered actually taking the brush apart, but I’m pretty sure this is one of those things that will come apart but never go back together. The silicone spray worked exceedingly well. The push-buttworks very easily now and the bristles go in and out flawlessly. This slicker does a great job removing hair from and grooming my lab-beagle mix and he seems to tolerate it pretty well; just don’t push too hard – those little wires are SHARP. Hope this helps some folks who are dealing with similar issues. I use the Kellogg’s 57500 Pure Silicspray brand purchased here at .

Love this brush more than Lulu (our fur baby) but she will let me use it in most areas (Miniature Schnauzer). She tends to get matted and when I work those areas she gets a little irritated. BUT this brush is so much better than anything else I have used to keep her groomed. Easy to use and well made. Happy to find this product and would definitely recommend to others with pets that are picky about being brushed.

The only complaint I have about this brush is that it requires a bit more pressure holding down the buttthan I anticipated, making it difficult to sustain continued pressure for long. Perhaps in future, it would be good to reverse the process? — That is, have the default positibe the extensiof the wires, and then the buttwould be pressed to retract them for a release of the fur.

Love it ! Just got to use it 2 nights ago, my cat loved it and I thought the cleanup was wonderful., with the press of a buttall the hair that accumulated during the brushing was suddenly compacted into a flat mat that was easily disposed of in the garbage. I try to brush my cat every other day and the other brushes quickly deteriorate with the constant use, There doesn’t appear to be that worry with this brush because of how it is constructed.

This is a good size brush. I have a 14 pound & a 45 pound dog, and it’s fine for both. The thin metal combs that come out or retract are very good at removing their shedding undercoat. I get a big ball of fur off every time. For my very sensitive dog I must use it very lightly because too hard and she finds it painful. It still removes the hair with even a light stroke. I like this brush more than any other shedding brush or blade I have used.

Not much to say about this other than it works great. I picked this up to use my white cat who plays around outside through the winter (in Phoenix AZ) and grew some undercoat. I picked this up, pulled him onto my lap and just slid it across his fur without any pressure. it worked great, catching all hair that was getting everything. He didn’t seem to care either.I used it my other cat who wasn’t as fluffy but needed to be cared for, and he even rolled over for his belly to be brushed. The bristles didn’t seem to bother either one of them which was a great thing. After, I walked to the trash can, pressed the buttand the fur was in a matt the surface of the brush after the bristles retracted into the head. Very easy to brush off into the trash, and done.

This is an ING brush!I have a Wheaten Terrier. She’s non-shedding but mattes super easy. This brush is perfect. First of all, she loves it. Second, I can actually clean the brush without messing up the wires. Third, the brush’s structure doesn’t move the wire bristles do so they go back in their spot every time. It’s literally a perfect cleanup every single time. Buy it! You’ll throw away your other stuff immediately!

I got this brush for my pomeranian/husky mix because we can fill up the slicker brush MULTIPLE times during one grooming sessiand I was tired of picking the hair out of our old brush. I LOVE this brush! It only takes a second to push the buttand all of the hair just falls off of the brush. I just keep a bag next to me while I brush my dog out and push the buttso the hair falls into it. I use this brush almost daily and I have no complaints!Photo included to show the amount of fluff we brush daily 🙂

This is a great product. No more needles under fingernails. The fur is easily removed from the brush when the bristles retract. Also, my Labradoodle loves to be brushed with this. It feels good her skin without irritating her as it removes lots of her fur that would have attached itself to my slacks, furniture, bed, rug, etc. So glad I bought this.

A good, light-weight, tool which does a wonderful job of combing my dog’s fur without pulling the fur.My dog is a Goldendoodle, they have a serious issue with matting fur, but this tool reaches down to the hide, and breaks the matting fur in the early stages of matting. I have used many different combs, brushes, de-matting tools, and this one is by far the best one I’ve used. My dog enjoys brushing time now, and will often beg for me to end the brushing sessiby brushing his belly.I love my dog, I do not have patience, but I do not like to have my dog shaved every month. THIS is the answer for me.

The release mechanism is awesome for both storage as well as getting rid of the hair. It is a good additito my other brushes. My only note is that these wire bristles don’t have a plastic tip/protective nub but my medium-length coat German Shepherd doesn’t seem to mind (but I think he prefers the tipped brushes). My doublecoated Aussie enjoys it though.

  28. Rated 5 out of 5

This brush really makes my cat purr. The brush head is large enough to cover a large area of the coat and the bristles really capture all of the loose fur. The bristles are in a push to lock kind of feature. What I mean by this is that you have to push a buttthe brush to release the bristles and it locks them in place. When you’re done brushing, you have to push the buttagain to pull back the bristles within the brush head so you can toss the gathered fur in the trash. This is a great brush.

  29. Rated 5 out of 5

This thing is awesome! I wouldn’t consider it a “de-shedding tool” but it’s a great brush! I use it to brush and detangle my 2 Australian Shepherd’s long hair and my long-haired cat and it removes quite a bit of hair & works well for detangling and I just love the buttthat makes the bristles go in and removing the hair a breeze. It also works very well for when a dog gets Burrs Tangled in their hair it brushes them out nicely and falls right into the garbage when you retract the bristles. I usually use a deshedding tool after I brush with this to get the rest of the hair off.

Just received this brush the other day. I have a Shih Tzu and I need this brush too keep his hair free of knots. It does and it’s easy to clean the hair off. Great for his side, back and tail. But a little big for the under the legs. But that’s ok. I can use something smaller. Great product for the money!Picture before and after.

    Just me

I bought this to brush my short haired cat. It works well. You have to push the buttto put out the bristles. The buttwill click to lock into place. When you’re ready to clean out the hair, you press the buttto retract the bristles and then wipe off the hair. I have it 4 stars because the buttis hard to press in/out and the plastic it’s made of is hard and the kind that cracks. But overall it works well.

    That Guy

I have a short/medium hair domestic cat who doesn’t like brushing. If I don’t brush her then she gives me nice hairball presents over my carpets when I wake up in the morning. I’ve been using this brush for about a week now and this is the only brush where my cat has tolerated the brushing for more than just one brush. You don’t really need to apply any downward pressure with this brush, just bring it to the top of your cats fur and brush. Cleaning is real easy to, the bristles snap back and the hair can be easily collected and disposed of. All in all, its a great brush

  33. Rated 4 out of 5

It’s a solid brush. Our three cats like being brushed with it. It appears well made. I’ve only had it a week. The retractable tines make it easy to remove fur quickly. It doesn’t remove as much fur as others we have, however. I believe this is because the tines are arranged in parallel and not staggered like other similar brushes. This design is undoubtedly to fascilitate the retractifeature and simplify the manufacturing of the base. In a staggered tine design individual holes would have to accommodate each tine as opposed to simple slots in rows.

  34. Rated 1 out of 5

Lasted a few months with occasional use. The device worked well when new; it was easy to clean the hair off. Used it a couple times a week one cat. The click functito extend and retract the bristles recently quit working. Now it only works if you hold the buttin, which is not easy.

  35. Rated 5 out of 5

So easy to use. — AND my German Shepherd and Maine Colove it! No battle there getting them to like it. Clean up is easy and you don’t end up with dog/cat hair everywhere. It all sticks together in a compact “brick” that can be easily thrown away. The buttsticks every now and then, but overall, I’m really glad I bought it.

  36. Rated 2 out of 5

It does the job of self cleaning. however you need to keep the buttpushed down while brushing your pet and there is no lock the button. When you are done and release it then it self cleans. This does not work for me. its a pain and uncomfortable that you need to keep that buttpushed down the whole time. This is the only way the brush comes out.

  37. Rated 5 out of 5

This brush is so much easier to use and clean, and works just as described. At first I was worried about the hard bristles because my dog has a compromised immune system and any sort of scratch or cut could become very serious. But I tested it my arm and even pressing as hard as I could, it left no cuts or scratches. Still, I’m careful to not press too hard when brushing her. She’s a chihuahua/dachshund mix with very coarse hair and it works great her! This brush is great!!!

  38. Rated 5 out of 5

The best brush for my cats. Easily removes fur , very light cat’s body, easy to dispose of removed fur by simply recessing the bristles and wiping the fur off. Fur doesn’t get tangled as with some brushes. Bristles are also softer than most brushes wihich means liss pulling and possible irritatito cat,s skin. Great product.

purchased to replace a brush for brushing the winter coat out of my goats in the spring that broke last year.when the tines retract to allow for cleaning the tines drag some of the hair into the brush making it a little more difficult to clean, but it dose work better than a brush that dose not retract.not sure durability, I have only used it a couple of times.

What I like most: So easy to clean — Love that! What I like least: It’s still not as good as the first slicker brush I had. That one had the longest pins and removed the most hair ever! I used it for years until it finally got stepped and bent the pins so badly that I had to throw it away. No slicker brush since has removed as much hair as that one. BUT, I ordered another brand and it did such a poor job that I threw it away. This one is the best I have found since my original winner, and it’s the easiest slicker to clean that I have ever owned. So overall, thumbs up!

This is a review you should trust because i almost never leave reviews unless I’m blown away or if something is horrible and i want to warn others.I just have no time. This sounded like such a simple but great idea, so I was skeptical as always. No need! This is just a great product!!! I’m so stoked! I have 2 large dogs and 1 cat and it normally tasked forever pulling the hair out of the brush and now it’s SO easy!! Now if they can put a soft tip or soft bristle brush that does the same thing, I will just be able to die happy, lol!

Works well for what it promises and is adjustable so you can poke the hair grabbers out just a little or a lot. A little tougher to use my cat than I would have expected without hurting her although I think she likes it. Going to also get gloves so that there is no chance can hurt my cat when getting the hair off. Good quality build though.

This brush is an absolute top performer. We have a very large Chocolate Lab with an incredibly thick two-layer coat. We have tried every differently designed available brush to remove the thick undercoat yet leave the top coat looking slick without yanking the hair out uncomfortably for the dog. This brush is the perfect solutifor us and our dear Gabby (14 yrs. and 85 lbs.) She now stands and enjoys the grooming for as long as she needs it. The brush holds the hair until I eject it and place it in a bag. My praise cannot be effusive enough to warrant the benefits enjoyed.

The cat was starting to get hairballs more frequently so I knew it was time to take action. My sister recommended this brush so I grabbed it while it was sale. Very easy to use, and my domestic short hair kitty loves it. Picks up plenty of loose hair from his coat. When we’re done, I just click the buttto retract the bristles and wipe the hair off into the trash. Unfortunately I had to take a star off because at least one of the bristles was bent out of alignment and makes a weird noise when I pull it through Kitty’s coat. Otherwise, highly recommend.

I just received this today and I love it! I was trying to find something to brush my cat. Not only does it brush well and get small knots out of fur, but all the fur sticks to it and you do not get fly-aways. I absolutely love that! Also, the buttto retract allows for easy disposal, yet again, without the fly-aways. I wish I hadn’t wasted so much money other brushes. This is a MUST BUY for long haired animals. Especially ones that shed a lot.

My cat just recently started to like being brushed. She’s very gentle and doesn’t like a rough brush, so I started using a soft bristled one that didn’t really do much grooming-wise. This Hertzko gets my cat’s undercoat, but I can’t apply any pressure because it’s hard wire. However, that’s why it’s so effective and my cat hasn’t had a fur ball since I started using it. The self cleaning aspect is wonderful and so easy to clean!

I have 4 dogs and a cat, the Newfie and Sheltie shed a lot, this brush has helped me be able to comb through them with ease and remove the hair from the brush in a more timely fashion. It’s much easier to be able to keep brushing them while they are down, rather than having to continue to remove hair from a brush and they get bored and move on. 🙂

Great brush. We have a goldendoodle puppy we had been using a plastic brush but decideded it was time for a big boy brush. Oliver seems to like this brush and he looks great after brushing. The real bonus is the self cleaning. We have had wire brushes in the past (for other dogs) and it was always impossible to get them clean. This is as easy as pushing a button.

Truly works as described…no loose or flying puff of hair! However, I have the one cat in the world that does not want her back or belly scratched and NEVER wants a brushing, lol. And it worked her!Only drawback, as a perswith neuropathy…to hold down the buttwhile brushing was awkward. I thought it would work the other while, to press the buttto retract the prongs….Still giving it 5 stars! It is an awesome product

The buttbecame quickly harder and harder to push and then it got stuck closed and would not work at all. I took it apart and found no hair inside stopping it from working. I could see the two springs cheap springs with little spring tensito do their job. To me it looks like the brush would work better and longer with a bit stiffer spring. a whim, I decided to put WD40 the moving parts and put it back together. It’s back to working, for now. TIP to users: WD40. Tip to Hertzko: Build it better.

This slicker brush is very well made tho it is larger than I thought it would be. My cats are small and it was hard to maneuver the brush over their bodies — so, maybe better for a heftier cat or for a medium to large size dog. Also the good and bad is you have to press down the handle to expose the bristles; this is good because the bristles are hidden so, say, if a child thought it was a toy he or she would not be hurt, but since I have arthritis at the bade of my thumbs it was hard for me to press the handle and brush at the same time. I’m giving this product 5 stars because I think it is an excellent product, just not for my needs.

My cat loves this. I love it too, because it’s easy to clean. Not really “self cleaning” cause although you press the buttand the bristles go away, the hair is still stuck the outside plastic because of static cling, so you still have to wipe the hair off. But still better than pricking my fingers the tiny, sharp metal bristles.

I really like the brush for my pitbull mix. She does need to be brushed every day though to get the loose hairs off. One of the reasons why I took off one star is because of all of the dandruff that the brush causes- it’s alot of dandruff that she didn’t have before and the dandruff gets everywhere. She doesn’t mind getting brushed which is great since we have to do it everyday. I also really like with the push of a buttthe bristle comes in and leaves all the hair and dandruff our. I’m not sure if brushing her has cut down her shedding but I like the brush so we’ll keep using it. I’ll update this review if anything changes

I have a Russian Blue so she has a very thick coat and gets hairballs often! I was using the gloves and although they got a lot of her hair out, she hated those gloves and would bite at them every time I tried to brush her with them. Zowie seems to love this brush! She doesn’t mind being brushed with it at all, in fact, she starts purring and nudges the brush with her head! It doesn’t seem to get as much hair out as the gloves did, but it still does the job and the clean up is SO MUCH easier. All I do is press the button, and slide the hair into the trash can with one swipe. So convenient. Definitely a great buy!

Not bad but just a little clumsy to use for even big fat cats with long hair. If it were a little longer and less wide it would be perfect…. tough to get this under his jaw his chest to get the knotty fur unclumped. Definitely does the job for the most part and I love the feature where you press the buttand the metal goes away; Easy clean of the fur.

The self-cleaning mechanism this brush makes removing hair/debris after brushing my Golden puppy a breeze. My previous Oster brand slicker brush was not self-cleaning and I honestly believe I spent more time cleaning that brush than I did actually brushing my dog. I bought this brush at the same time as another self-cleaning Slicker Brush by JW Pet and this one is by far the superior model. The JW Pet brush attempts to push a panel outward past the tines in order to remove hair as opposed to how this brush retracts the tines. This method is far superior. The JW Pet brush was also much bigger and bulkier than this brush, which I find to be a great size.My only gripe about brush, as small as it might seem, is that I find the buttitself to be a bit wonky. It kind of just rattles around rather than being a firm butt(I’m not sure if that’s a flaw in the one I received or how it’s intended to be). Because of this, I sometimes need to push the buttmultiple times in order to get the tines to retract, which is annoying and does have me slightly concerned about the longevity of this brush, since if the buttstops working the novelty of how this brush works will be lost. Hopefully, that will not be the case, and assuming it isn’t, I give this brush a solid 4.5 stars.

So far, so good. You press the buttand the bristles come out. Press it again and they retract. It makes removing the fur very easy and prevents it from being bent/damaged when not in use. I’m using it a cat and it would be nice if it had a slimmer design, but I suspect it’s great medium to large dogs. If you’re looking for a cat or small dog brush you might want to check around for something else, but it’s worth the larger size awkwardness for the retractable bristles.

I’ve used this brush for a year now and it is great. I’m using it a rescued Golden-Doodle and if she is not brushed every few days the fur really mats up around her neck when it is longer in the Winter. If I let it go for too long, the brush won’t get down far enough to clear the matting & I have to use a small rake-like steel comb to try to get it out. I find when using the Slicker Brush that I sit the stairway bottom step in our basement to brush the dog. I keep a shop-vac running next to me with the hose pointed my way. When the brush loads up I just retract the wires and pass the brush in front of the vacuum hose and it cleans it off quickly & I’m back to brushing. My dog is pretty laid back and tolerates the noise where I can see others getting upset by the vacuum running. I use a Flowbee to trim the dog and she is used to the vacuum. When I click the brush the dog quickly comes to me for brushing and seems to really enjoy it.

Surprisingly easy for my arthritic hands to use. Major plus. Another being that the tines are withdrawn when not in use. Super easy to clean. My dog’s fur is a bit long and quite thick and she is a pro at collecting cockleburs. You know how those are to remove using just your fingers. Well, this brush helps with even that chore with no dog complaints or trying to pull away. Too bad she can’t write a review 🙂

The BEST brush! We have a lab husky mix and he sheds so much. I’ve been the hunt for a good brush and found it finally!! We’ve used this brush him in the bath and when he’s been dry, it works great. I’ve gotten sooo much hair off of him that I couldn’t with other brushes. My favorite thing about this brush is that you don’t have to touch the hair that comes off! You just push the buttto pop bristles out, brush, then push the buttagain to pop the bristles back in…which allows the hair to just fall off. Definitely recommend this to all my dog lovers!

Very nice and comfortable to use. Be careful when picking a size though. There is a significant amount of plastic (approximately a half inch average) around the bristles/pins which makes it hard to brush certain areas if the brush is too large for the dog. Self cleaning feature is awesome. If you find the fur still has bumps after using this, try using an undercoat rake first.

Fantastic product idea, really. Brushing my cat and removing the hair from the brush is a nightmare, this brush solves that. It does however have one drawback and that is the bristles themselves. They are very short (about 1/4 to 1/3 an inch long) and made of strong metal. Any real pressure would tear my cats skin. Also his favorite place to be brushed is the side of his head and his ears, he hates that with this brush. For a model 2 I would suggest longer, thicker plastic bristles, think of how thin a cats ear skin is, design something soft enough that I can brush that with this hair removal system and you will have made your better mouse trap.

This brush is simply the best! I have two cats and both need – but don’t necessarily like – brushing. Now they both vie for my attentiand love it. The bristles feel stiff to me but must not be hard a cat’s skin, because they never jerk away from me while I’m working. But the best part is the ability to retract the bristles and whisk the cat hair off the guard – what a brilliant idea! I love it and highly recommend this brush to cat owners.

Pros:The self-cleaning aspect of this brush is awesome. If there were a human version, I would absolutely use it. It is fascinating to see the hair and dander that comes off after even a light brushing. The seller was wonderful, the item shipped quickly and was exactly as described.Cons:My dog (a morkie) doesn’t seem to like the brush all that much. I think the bristles are a little too sharp for his fine hair and sensitive skin. However, this brush would probably be perfect for a dog with thicker fur.The brush is a little too big for my small dog. It is fine for his back, but too wide to really get his chest. Again, this would not be a problem for a larger dog.

I got this for one of my cats, whose undercoat regularly furnishes enough fluff to make up an additional cat. The best thing about the brush is that the bristles pull in and let go of the dead hair, and this also means the brush can be stored without picking up additional fuzz or scratching the unsuspecting. The only downside is that the size is adequate for dogs, so it is a bit big for kitty–but she adores being brushed, so the occasional bumping into bones doesn’t spoil the glow.

I just opened this and immediately tried it my cat. She has short hair, but it’s very thick so she’s constantly shedding. You pet her from head to tail and are constantly left with a handful of hair. This worked great for her shedding. Bristles remove all the loose fur with ease. The retractable bristles are the best thing about this. No more trying to pick out all the hair the brush. Just press the buttwhile standing over the garbage and gravity does the rest.

Young Sheltie, beautiful coat, and anticipating the spring flood of fur —how do you take care of this without making the Sheltie miserable? This self cleaning slicker brush is part of the answer. The strong, springy needlelike teeth pull smoothly through her outer coat, reaching down to the undercoat where the shedding is taking place. She seems puzzled by how good it feels!Cleaning really is a snap: push the button, the teeth retract, and the fur comes off in a nice woven clump. Could NOT be easier! The sound the mechanism makes (a loud snap) startles my dog just a bit, but she’s getting used to it. This brush is a great way to finish our evening grooming sessions.

I have bought these for every cat owner I know. They make cleaning up of the brush SO much easier. Just press a button, the bristles go into the device and you just sweep the hair away. It does a good job getting the hair off of your cat, the only downside is, not every cat likes the feel of it as the bristles are harder this compared to a soft brush.

This is a good quality brush for bigger dogs +35lbs with long hair. My dog is smaller so it couldn’t reach smaller areas between the legs and pits. It’s like a massage for my dog his back and any areas I could reach with it.

I am so happy with this brush. My Golden Retriever is happy with it. Even my schnauzer mix does not shake when I brush her with this brush.I love that there are no sharp edges, the wires that are folded so as not to hurt do wonders for the dogs’ comfort while being brushed. And speaking of comfort, it’s so much easier to clean the brush. I know I will brush more often because of the ease of cleaning it. It is ingly preferable to the other slickers I’ve tried. It seems very sturdy although I’ve only had it a little while, but it seems well built. It also is so efficient that I can even brush the dogs in the house without flying hair all over. It is a great product.

This brush is high quality plastic, with a nicely weighted and easily handled design. The bristles do the trick without being too sharp! At first I didn’t realize that the butttop needed to be depressed quickly in order for it to snap into a lock open or close-the 3rd Party seller actually helped me out easy fix! Thanks Tom for reaching out!

This worked just as the reviews and descriptidetailed. It doesn’t tug my puppy’s hair, and while she occasionally bats at it, she comes around when I tell her it’s brush time. The clean up is easy. The buttthe brush doesn’t stick, so it’s as painless as they say. I have a little shihpoo pup, going 11 months. I think she’s somewhere around 11 pounds, and I would say this brush is a little big for her, but it works just fine. I use a smaller comb for the harder to reach areas and use this for her main body. Imagine brushing your pup with your hand (or a 5 ft 9 woman’s hand lol). That is about the size of the brush head. Keep that in mind when buying, but product wise, this brush is perfect.

We love the Hertzko Slicker Brush. We have an 18 year old cat that has not been keeping up with his grooming very well lately. He has a very thick undercoat that gets tangles and clumps very quickly. All the other combs/brushes we have are either not very effective or hurt him when I try to brush those tangles out. The first couple days I only took as many strokes as he would tolerate and then wait for my next opportunity. After about three days of just taking 5-6 strokes at a time, the worst tangles were gone and he will let me brush him for much longer. The brush is so effective his double coat and the extra bonus is that the self cleaning feature is brilliant. Thank you for this product. It has made life easier for both of us.

I bought this Hertzko Self-cleaning slicker brush to groom my 15 year-old longish-haired cat. He has a touch of arthritis in his spine which makes it impossible for him to groom himself the way he would like. Over the past several weeks he has developed clumps in his fur and the arthritis in his spine limits his flexibility and prevents him from working out the clumps himself.Fortunately he likes to have me use the Hertzko slicker brush him and I am slowly working the existing clumps out of his fur and preventing new ones from developing. I especially like the self-cleaning feature as it would be difficult to get his fur out of the brush otherwise.

This is the first brush that our cat has tolerated other than a mitt style brush which is only moderately effective. I couldn’t believe the amount of hair this was taking out of the coat and cleaning the brush couldn’t be easier. Click the buttto retract the bristles and you simply wipe off the hair. It’s that simple. I’m really happy with this purchase.

Great brush! My cat loves it. As soas he sees it, he comes running and pushes his face the brush which is his signal to brush him. The easy one buttclean up is an awesome feature. Customer service from this company has also been great in asking whether or not their product is satisfying and willing to assist if not. Thank you Hertzko for such a great product!!!

Shipping was quick! Feel like I ordered this and it was here the next day! I have a husky and his shedding is a force to be reckoned with and this slicker brush is everything we needed to truly start managing his hair! Because he sheds so much, three good strokes and the brush is full which is okay because the self cleaning feature is awesome! We probably filled a bag with 1/3 of his top coat in 5 minutes.Overall our favorite feature is the release mechanism that only took us two tries to figure out. The handle has a great grip. The only this we wished was that the bristles were a bit longer.

Wow- what a great brush! We have a large Great Pyranee who sheds constantly. I always needed to brush him outdoors since the volume of hair that floated off him during brushing was a huge problem.. This brush is a game changer- I can brush him thoroughly in ~10 stroke intervals, fill up the brush and then empty it directly into the garbage and repeat as needed. NO HAIR the floor! My dog loves this brush as much as I do. Now our morning routine includes a quick brushing (ndoors) which has tremendously reduced the accumulatiof dog hair all over our house.

This is the best Pet brush that I’ve used. My dog has a very thick coat with an under coat so I need a wire brush, but they can pull and hurt. This brush has a little bend at the end of the wires so they do not hurt his scalp and he loves to be brushed again. He even rolls over for me to brush his tender belly. I am able to get so much hair off of him and it’s so easy to get it off of the brush thanks to the design. The brush looks to be well made, I believe it will last a long time. I am going to buy another brush for my daughter to use her dog; I’m sure she will love it as much as I do!

Cat loves it, but I’m afraid the wire prongs are going to hurt him. Its kinda harsh and I’m afraid to use any real pressure him with it. I’m afraid it will hurt him. But it certainly works and he really loved it. He actively begs for it.

Everything about this brush is perfect. I love the handle. But the ing feature is, once the brush is full of hair, you press the buttand the bristles go into the brush and the hair slides right off like magic! So it remains neat and clean when not in use. I have a German Shepherd and he doesn’t mind it at all. I am throwing out all my gross hairy brushes!

So I’ve been using this product for a few weeks now and it’s honestly ing. I have 3 Afghan hounds and I’m used to spending forever brushing them every day. This brush has changed the game.My dogs don’t have any tangles any more and if they do I can quickly fix it with this brush. Their coats now look silly and shiny. Cleaning out the brush is super easy with the buttthe back. The bristles are still in place. I’ve dropped it a few times and it’s very sturdy. I would highly recommend this product.

This was purchased as a gift donated to a no-kill animal shelter and delivered directly to them. They publish a Christmas gift list for the pets who are not yet adopted and people can choose and send a gift to that pet. I chose a senior cat that “wanted” a nice brush for her long fur. This brush appeared to be an excellent choice for both the kitty (Miss Piggy) and for the perswho would be using it. The company contacted me to make sure all went well, which I appreciated!

Love the self-cleaning aspect of this brush. Nicely made. My only negative is it’s a little clunky to handle. I’m used to being able to “feel” the brush actias I brush my dogs. I can’t feel anything because it’s thick. I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

Seriously so impressed with this! My large, long-haired dog is timid and constantly shedding, and brushing him has been a nightmare until I got this brush. So far, this is the only brush my dog isn’t afraid of, and cleanup is a dream! Hair comes right off of the brush as advertised, and I am so thankful for this product! My house no longer has little tumbleweeds of dog hair floating around. Awesome product 🙂

This brush is ING. I have struggled to stay top of one of my cat’s matted fur for years now (especially since having my kids) and I feel like finding this brush will save us! He doesn’t mind being brushed with it, it removes so much fur and dander, and it is incredibly easy to clean. The buttsystem really works to release the nasty fur. There is no comparisto the brush I had before! Highly recommend!

This isn’t a great brush for my dog. She has curly hair close to the skin and needs to be brushed tail to head. This isn’t a good optifor her, so I switched back to a standard brush for her. I’m sure it would work well for other dogs with different types of hair/fur.

Brushing my dog is very therauptic for me, but the best part is seeing all the fur that comes off. It’s so easy to use. Press a buttand bam all the trapped fur can be thrown away. What bothers me the most is why don’t they make brushes like these for women ????? This technology is so advanced for pets, but not for humans. I struggle trying to pull all my trapped hair out of my brush. Nevertheless, ING PRODUCT.

I don’t know why I hadn’t purchased one of these sooner! Its that time of year and our lab/chow mix is shedding small creatures all over the house. The brush we had before would get full after a few passes and I would spend more time trying to clean it out than I would brushing out our Sugar Bear. This brush works great and makes the brushing out process easy for both Sugar Bear and us.**TIP** Clean out the brush more often for easier clean up. I pushed this brush to the limit and it did have a little trouble retracting with all the hair in it, but clean it out more often and it works like a charm.

This is a must have grooming tool! I own four bearded collies and I absolutely hate raking thru my slicker brush to remove the dog hair. I saw this slicker brush and thought I’d give it a try. To say the least I was just blown away. It is sturdy and is easy to hold plus does a great job at grooming however the really wonderful thing about this brush is the ease in removing the pet hair after use. I was just blown away at how wonderful and easy it is to use. It is really like magic!! I heartily recommend this slicker brush and would not hesitate to buy it again

I bought this unit a Lightning deal a whim as I have a ShedMonster that works pretty well. I have a long hair cat (Maine coon) a short hair domestic cat (Calico) along with a 15 pound Terrier dog and a 12 pound mutt who is a tripod. Primarily I got it for my Maine Cocat who would shed like crazy. After sitting my lap for 15 minutes I’d have enough cat hair to put together a make-shift mini beard my face.I use this unit almost every day since it arrived, and she loves it. Unlike the ShedMonster, she purrs every time I use this her and actually lets me brush her without fighting it. After brushing, the clean up is as easy as I’ve ever seen. The bristles go in with a simple click of the buttand the hair is simple to brush away. The reasthis gets 5 stars? The Tripod actually lets me brush her – first time I’ve been able to do this in five years. That’s when you know you have a good quality brush that is as described – the pets love it – it probably feels like a good massage to them. And most importantly, shedding is reduced by 90%. Now my maine cocan sit my lap and I won’t have that much fur left me at all. In fact, sometimes I don’t even need to use my lint roller anymore afterward. I would recommend this for any cat or dog you may have. They will like being brushed, it will reduce shedding, and the clean up is as easy and efficient as it gets.

I must have looked through all the self cleaning slicker brushes before deciding this one! And I’m so glad I did. Although this was a bit bigger than what I had expected, and I bought it for my miniature schnauzer puppy, I still think it’s a super high quality brush. I used a regular slicker brush from CHI before and honestly…CHI should just stick with making human hair products instead of products for pets. :/ This self cleaning brush is very easy to use! It doesn’t scratch the skin my puppy and I can tell he’s enjoying this brush A LOT more than his CHI slicker brush! Plus this is self cleaning!!! No more getting my fingers stubbed by the sharp pointy metal bristles! I’m planning to adopt another large breed dog and this would work perfectly for the new dog as well! Love it! Definitely would recommend to all dog lovers!

This brush is great! The retractable bristles make it ridiculously easy to clean. The buttis a *little* bit difficult to push in and out but much easier than trying to dig fur out of regular brushes! Love the color (not that it matters much) and is effective at grabbing plenty of fur from my German Shepherd mix (read: double-coated) dog! So all in all I would definitely recommend!

It’s a bit bulky because it’s self cleaning, but worth it because it truly is self cleaning and can be stored without the prickly bristles turned out. It is a bit more difficult to get to hard to reach places because of the bulk.

My cat has short hair, but a thick undercoat. I have tried other types of brushes and they don’t get much hair at all. Now, I KNOW this cat sheds cause when I go to pet him, it’s like a puff of hair in the air. I was and found this one and thought I’d give it a try and I am SO glad I did! I brush him 2-3x a day and I always find a good amount the brush. I didn’t think I would care that it was self cleaning, but it is seriously the best feature about this brush. So easy! He loves how it feels and I love how it works. I do have another cat who doesn’t care for it, but she is picky about everything, so oh well! Haha! It is worth a try cat owners!

I’m must be stupid since so many people like the product but . . . It says the package to press buttto clean brush. That brings the actual brush out which requires you to hold to the buttwhile brushing. It should be that the brush sticks out while you brush then you press the buttto wipe the brush across the black part. What am I missing? Shouldn’t the brush be the other way around?

This brush is really good. It gets the job done and it removes all the hair after you release the button. It combs through my dogs hair pretty well. It’s exactly as described and looks like the picture. I do wish they had a lock buttso you didn’t have to hold it the whole time. Some dogs just don’t sit still.

I love the way the bristles retract for cleaning and storage. In additito working well dogs, slicker brushes are great for refluffing plush stuffed animals. The brush is fairly large, so it works quickly!

Good sturdy brush, well made and easy to use, and the cats like it – haven’t done the dogs yet, as I’ve only had it for 2 days. I do wish it had the little rubber “ends” the wire tines, though, would make it a bit gentler the skin for my shorthaired cats.

Works well but my dogs don’t seem to like the long bristles. I have to brush very gently with this one. I like that it’s self cleaning but would be better if the bristles were shorter.Update: At first it wasn’t the best brush because I keep my dogs’ fun significantly shorter in the summer and this brush was too harsh their skin because of the long bristles. Now that their fur has grown out, it works much better and they don’t actually mind it much.. Though they are extremely furry pomeranians. It works well for brushing them and also cleaning out another similar brush that I use, which isn’t self cleaning. Bonus. The only negative is that it is kind of bulky and heavy, but that’s due to the self cleaning design.Basically, it’s not for pets with short hair and works much better longer haired breeds.

We have two large golden retrievers that often leave golden tumbleweeds all over our house. Brushing/grooming them with this device is the BEST! It smooths and removes tons of hair but with the push of a button, the tines retract and the dead hair is easily swept away. The speed and convenience are incredible. The quicker I can get this done, the easier it is to deal with two big furry dogs. What a great invention.

This brush arrived and was bigger than I expected! My cats have not liked brushes in the past so I figured they wouldn’t really be into this big thing but I was surprised how much they liked it! They seemed to both take to it and start to enjoy it pretty fast. The self cleaning feature is a nice bonus! Seems to work well so far. Neither of my cats have very long hair so I can’t attest to that but one is fluffier than the other and benefits from a good deshedding.

I bought 2 of these to use for carding cott(crafting). Cottharvest is not here yet, so I do not have any cottto try it out yet. I will try to update when I do.As for the brush itself, I like that it has the optito lock the bristles away. You push the buttand the bristles come out and stay. Or you can press the buttagain and they are locked away. You can then throw this in your bag and not worry about damaging the bristles or catching it other items. Clean up was easy too.I have used it yarn. I knitted a mohawk stocking hat and the mohawk didn’t quite look right to me. So I used this pet brush (brand new, never used a pet) to brush it out and fluff it up. I am happy with the results, see for yourself. I think it needs a few stripes, so I will be adding to it.Also, I received these faster than expected. Seller was great.

This brush is awesome, you brush and then when it’s full instead of pulling off all of the hair you just simply push the buttand tada you can wipe away the hair! I would recommend this brush to anyone it’s great! Huge time saver and the dog likes it (he hates being brushed but does tolerate this brush). Haven’t had issues with prongs being bent either and I’ve been using it pretty much daily since I bought it since it’s that time of year again

This is the very best brush for both brushing your dog or getting hair easily off of your carpet when you have a long haired dog. It holds the hair and I’ve NEVER seen a brush that retracts like this and the hair just falls into the trash. I going to purchase them for my daughters and probably purchase an extra one for the second floor just to have close.I’m sure it will eventually break from wear and tear but if I get six months out of it, I’ll be pleased.NOTE: If you just use it to get the shedding hair off your dog it will last forever. I’m sure it puts more strain it when I use it to get up the hair off the carpet and it wasn’t advertised for that. But works great. You never have to touch it, the hair falls right off after retracting the bristles!

The best design I’ve seen for a cat hairbrush. It cleans up as easy at it looks and I’m very happy with it. I let it sit in the cat hammock for a day or two before trying to use it, just to give them a chance to sniff around it and get their scent it. Once I did there was no problem in getting them to sit still for brushing.Be advised that when you push down the buttto retract/extend the brush it makes a reasonably loud clicking noise, which could spook some cats if have it right beside them.I’d definitely recommend it, it’s the best cat brush I’ve ever had in 30some years of owning cats.

This “brush” works great with my dogs. I brush the dogs with tender skin very lightly so that it doesn’t bother them. Cleaing the fur from the brush is easier than I thought it could be. I’m very happy with this purchase and so are my furry children.

This is a terrific product! It’s very easy to click the brush into place, brush (my cat loves it!), and then with another easy click the bristles completely retract and I can wipe the collected hair into the trash. Hurray for a product that works even better than I expected.

This brush works great! It’s a slicker brush that has retracting teeth so the hair is easily removed from the brush. I’ve used it for my Aussie and Pomeranian puppy who helped me make a video! Very useful!

I am very pleased with this product. I have been using another brush and it was a “fight” to brush our cat. With this product she seems to enjoy being brushed. I do not understand the difference, all I can say is that it works and I am very pleased. If our cat could write, she would give it 5 stars.

This brush gets to my Lab’s undercoat as well as top layer of hair and he loves the massage! I would recommend this brush to owners of Labs and other breeds.

I have a Corgi-mix rescue with very thick fur who fortunately enjoys to be brushed with this everyday. He is a little picky about brushes, some he loves while others are dreaded. This brush, as far as he is concerned, is just right; no sharp bristles, provides the right amount of scratch without too much pressure. 🐶 This brush also does a good job of working out both top and undercoat which I appreciate.I am especially happy that I no longer need to dig the dog hair out of the brush. Great invention! 👍 I can brush my dog and not brutalize my fingers with wire bristles and sacrifice manicures. 💅🏻

I LOVE this brush. I am waiting for the human equivalent. This brush is so easy to use and works great my Husky mix. I love the self cleaning button, what could be easier. This is the second one I bought because I have a cat too and it works great her also.

Live this brush! The Brussels are not so stiff they they hurt my dogs with the sensitive skin and yet i still picks up the hair. Having it gathered in the brush and then simply being able to push a buttto clean it out means I don’t have to chase the flyaway hair that comes out when I brush. I also love the fact that the brissles are hidden away so that they don’t bend when not in use, or like for that matter. Hoping it lasts – so far so great!

This brush works very well at removing the undercoat or collecting loose hair after a stressful event–without having the hair fly about the air. And the cleaning mechanism could not be easier or more thorough. The only reasI am not giving this brush 5 stars is because it is just too big and clunky to hold in my small hands and use small cats. I’d buy a less-wide versiif it were offered.

Love love love this brush! Had doubts it would work my collie, but I was so very tired of picking hair out of my other brush that I gave it a try. Glad that I did! It works just as well as other non-cleaning brushes from the standpoint of being able to grab the undercoat giving a nice clean brush stroke, no tangles no catching. Then the best part of all…click the buttthe handle and the bristles retract leaving only the hair. A quick flick into the trash and you are all done. As you can see from the photo Stoney likes it too, he is just relaxed and loving the brush out. Best dog money I have spent in a long time!

  124. Rated 5 out of 5

Great product that does exactly what it’s advertised to do.I’ve had brushes that can pull more hair per stroke, but none that do it so effortlessly and none that make it so easy to remove the hair.Really is the best brush I’ve owned and the design is ing and simple to use.I’ve never seen anything like it but will never buy another style brush again..

Great pet brush. I have tried several other brushes but none of them got to the undercoat of my dog, a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix. He has a dense coat that sheds a lot. With this brush I was able to get to all his fur for a good brushing. He didn’t seem to mind it either!

I first saw this brush when our vet used it our furry guy several months ago. And then it popped up an deals thing. We’d been using a flea comb to brush him and get rid of all that shedding fur. He tolerated it, but barely. The first time we tried the Hertzko brush, he loved it, even rolling over so we could do his other side — purring like mad all the time. So if our little critter likes it, we like it.

This is the favorite of my long-haired cat. Whenever he hears the click of the buttthe back, he comes running. It’s effective his fur (wherever he chooses I may brush any particular day) – but the ing use I found was the carpet. A few swipes and up comes not only his long, long black hair, but also the short hair of my orange tabby. Easy peasy.

This is a phenomenal invention!! I use this for my kitty as she demands her daily brushing. She loves the bristles as though they seem firm, they’re soft her fur and skin. As a pet owner constantly covered in cat hair, I adore the buttfeature as cleaning the hair off is a simple wipe into the trash. The buttis firm so does not easily withdrawal unless you actually want to remove/replace the bristles. I am SO happy with this product (and so is kitty) so I highly recommend this to any pet owner- fluffy animal or not this is a great way to keep your animal easily groomed! Thank you!

Currently have long haired Shepherd, three short haired shedding dogs, two cats, a kitten & a bird & it works incredibly all but the bird!Seriously I have had a wide variety of dogs & cats for over a period of 50 years & currently own over a dozen brushes & combs & never will need anything but this ONE.I currently go from one pet to the next, with a bag for the discarded hair & it’s done! None seem to mind, all seem to feel better & all feel much softer & cleaner to the touch. What makes it so much different from other brushes &/or strippers is that it does not drag or pull hard through the pet’s fur, but just gently lifts the loose hair. Also, ingly, when you press the release button, the hair just sits there until you collect it, instead of immediately going airborne.Could not recommend more highly!

All 3 of my cats love this! The wire bristles really get deep into their fur. Even one cat who never wanted to get brushed begs me to brush him now. It’s super-easy to clean. After clicking to retract the bristles, I just wipe the fur off with a Kleenex.

  131. Rated 5 out of 5

I love this product!! It works as described, easy to use and so nice to be able to push a buttfor the collected hair to slip right off. No more digging into those sharp wires. My cat likes it as much if not more than I do. I am more willing to brush her with this being a piece of cake to use. I looked at other less pricey ones, but you have to hold the buttwhile brushing! Are you kidding me?I would highly recommend this to anyone needing to groom their pet.

You don’t need that other pet brush when you have the hertzko self cleaning Slicker brush! I love how you can brush your pet and get the undercoat while leaving your pets coat shiny and soft. You want to make sure to use short Strokes, and when you’re done you just press the buttand the hair comes right off! You don’t need to pick through bristles or struggle to finish the job. It makes brushing fun for you and your pet. Definitely a great Buy.

My new favorite dog brush! We have a Border Collie who seems to be shedding all the time. This brush is working better than any I have used. I like the retractable bristles, they make it super easy to clean up and get the hair in the trash. I was a bit worried about the buttto retract the bristles because it just didn’t seem sturdy enough but it is holding up just fine. The dog seems to love it too.

If you have a dog with a thick undercoat that mats easily, you need this! Easy to brush without pulling and easy to clean. After brushing, the easy clean feature swept all the fur from the bristles and looks brand new again Also, the seller contacted me directly to ask if everything was ok and to make sure I was satisfied. It’s rare to get that kind of personal service. Very impressed!

It’s worked really well my short haired cat, I’ve got a huge amount of fur this brush, much more than with the brush with plastic bristles. This brush has metal bristles but using it gentle doesn’t cause irritatiin my cat’s skin and he seems to enjoy when I brush him.

The most convenient part of this brush is the retractable button, makes it a dream to clean. But I don’t think it brushes my pet any better than the previous brush we had. Honestly the easy clean up is enough for me to buy it again.

My kitty is quite skittish ane was at first mildy skeptical towards the brush, but a few chin scratches later she was hooked.I was fairly surprised of the size of the brush and felt that it slightly unwieldy for brushing a moving target (i.e. my kitty who loves to roll around and walk during brush time.)Those this is certainly not a serious flaw, nor deal breaker. The brush handles her fur quite adequately and lives up to expectations as far as the retracting tines/self cleaning nature of the brush is concerned. It was a good purchase for the price and I would gladly buy another brush should the need arise.

  139. Rated 5 out of 5

I’ve only used this for more than 2 seconds maybe three or four times in the month I’ve had it, but that’s due to my cats’ crazy squiminess and has nothing to do with the quality of the product. The “self-cleaning” aspect is something close to a miracle, though it’s about as simple mechanically as you can get – which is the hallmark of a good mechanism. If one had an animal that would stay still for a few moments, I can only imagine what might be accomplished. This is the most thrilled I’ve ever been to be holding a clump of hair.

I’m recovering from a broken arm and shoulder and using a vacuum the staircase was yes out of the questiand I had so much dog hair the stairs that it was embarrassing. So I decided to use this brush the rug my staircase and it worked ingly especially underneath the edge of the stair step which is often difficult to get with a vacuum and it didn’t take me very long at all to remove a big ball of hair from the staircase and it looks so much better. That’s not perfect but I also have used it in spots where my dog lays to get the rug clean and I hope eventually I will be strong enough again to use my vacuum but in the meantime this was really wonderful.

I mean it does what it says it does. I have an indoor/outdoor kitty who has medium length fur so this product seemed like it’d be perfect for him. I love the brush and how the bristles retract for cleaning. I don’t like the stapler like sound it makes when I retract and extract the bristles though. If they could fix this, the brush would be a lot better. It would also be nice to be able to switch bristle types out so i can graduate to less abrasive bristles if i have to brush my cat for a while.

Anyone whomever has pets that shed (like me) know that when you are brushing your pets fur out, you have to keep cleaning the brush. I have a Husky mix and although she doesn’t shed “as much” as others I’ve seen, this brush is a must have. I like it because those “needle” bristles that usually poke me under my nails can be retracted and the hair just falls off. I’ve been brushing her so much that now I use it all my dogs. I like it more just for the bristles not poking me and I don’t have to clean the brush myself. Just hit the buttthe back and…GONE! My other dogs are a Chihuahua mixed and Lhasa Apso. I gently do my Chihuahua. He likes the bristles up and down his back.

  144. Rated 5 out of 5

Using this my cats, it gets a decent amount of hair off of them every day, which slides right off the brush as advertised when you mash the spring loaded buttto retract the bristles. I have no issues thus far with hair being pulled inside the brush like i thought might happen. Wish I had purchased one of these a long time ago, it would have saved alot of time cleaning brushes or picking cat hair off my clothes!

I was doublful that this would last… thought maybe the hairs would plug into the holes and keep the bristles from retracting. It does EXACTLY what it says it will do. People who have visited asked where we got it since they couldn’t find in stores. Love this for my dog!

I use it my cat who sheds like crazy during the warmer months. I’ve had other brushes that constantly need the hair removed, I tend to get more myself then the brush. This brush is large, so you can brush for while, get a lot of hair off and then with the touch of a buttthe hair cleanly comes off in one tight neat clump. Love it and so does my cat!

Best Hair brush I have used. One handed operati(seriously). It’s not obvious from the photo but the buttin the center clicks to retrack teeth and then clicks to extend them back out. This allows you to place the brush over a trash can and just “click” to allow fur to drop into can. Girls friend thought it was useless when I took it out of the package but was wover when she saw how much fur was being pulled off.The target subject seamed to like the brushing too.. no growling and just a sort of content stare.

Great brush! One of our mixed breed dogs has a heavy undercoat and long top coat. She sheds like crazy year-round. This brush does a great job of removing the loose undercoat without pulling her fur, the metal bristles are effective without being long or pointed enough to poke her skin. She actually likes it and will lay there to be brushed as long as needed – lol. I would definitely recommend this for dogs with a thick undercoat and would buy again without reservation.

A quality product! A lot more hair came out into the brush than other brushes I have used the dogs before, and with the push of a button, the hair comes off into the trash. I would recommend this for dogs with thick or matted coats. Thinner coated dogs may find this type of bristles to be a bit rough.

This brush is larger than I thought it would be but my cat loves it! At first I thought I may need a smaller brush for the tiny guy but he can’t get enough of it. I can call him out of any room by brushing the bristles of this brush my finger. He hears it and comes running, jumping up to bonk the brush with his cheek. When he gets bored of the face brushing, he’ll flop his side for belly brushes.Functionally, this brush works super well. The click buttholds the bristles in place and it’s super easy to retract them and remove the fur. It’s a solid, hefty product that doesn’t feel like it will break easily or anytime soon. Highly recommend!

Just as the many reviews say, this is the best dog brush I’ve used. We have three fur-kids with fairly short hair yet we have to sweep our hardwood floors daily. Decided a brush would be helpful and ordered this one based the product reviews. It arrived in two days with Prime (yay) and we immediately sat the pups down for their first real brush grooming (Chihuahua, Chiweenie, Doberman). Our Doberman Dakota is afraid of brushes and unknown objects but sobecame curious as she watched her Chihuahua friend truly enjoying this new grooming gadget. And just like it claims, all you do is click the release buttand the hair slides off the smooth surface into the trash. We’ve been using it regularly and I can say that this is one of those things that makes life a little easier and everyone is curious to watch how it works. And the seller was pleasant.

Awesome product. Really works fantastically. Our cat had some matted hair we had been unable to comb out with regular cat brush, and were about to take him to vet for grooming. However the Hertzko Self Cleaning Brush worked ingly and was able to remove the matted hair from the cat with ease. Saved us a lot of money for grooming.

I bought this because I do have one long haired dog, a GSD, she is a shedder! I had recently purchased a lesser comb/brush from a pet store for her, and it worked one time, then refused to retract, so I took the offensive part of and used it as the older versions were, without the cleaner. This brush, is fantastic tho, I use it my donkeys, they say thank you and so do I!! They shed once a year, and when it starts, you just want it to be over with!! It is a tremendous help in the grooming of my donkeys and I could not be happier that it works so well, in the removal of hair and the retractable part maintaining it’s self, I just love it! Some day, I will buy another, for my dog :-)!!

One long haired large dog and 5 long haired cats means a lot of brushing. Had a slicker brush that had a plastic plate at the base that could be pushed up to eject the fur, but was small, light weight and a bit clumsy. Lost track of it, so ordered this brush, great product. Click the buttthe handle once, the brush bristles extend and lock in place for brushing. Click the buttagain, the bristles quickly and easily retract and the mat of fur practically falls right off. Nice and sturdy construction, comfortable to hold. My pets like being brushed with it.

My pit bull has short, clingy hair. We’ve tried other brushes..and giving him constant baths.. and with little success!! There would still be constant traces of his hair everywhere! We’ve had this brush for several days now and I’m completely comfortable giving a full 5 star review! It took my dog a little getting used to, as the bristles are rather stiff. We’ve figured how to brush him soft enough that he loves it, but also hard enough to pull out all the loose hairs. Using this brush exfoliated his skin and left some “dandruff”. After continuous regular use, this has lessened. This brush is relatively easy to clean. The push of a buttis simple and slick. I do have to take a paper towel to help remove the hair particles and some “dandruff” residue. This brush has eliminated the number of times a day I used to vacuum. (Yes, I used to vacuum once, maybe even twice, a day!) Since I’ve started using this brush, I have been vacuuming every other day. I could possibly vacuum less, but I have 2 toddlers and a husband. And I think they’re just as messy as the dog! 😊

We have a two coated husky mix and it is a serious problem brushing him. He has thick luscious hair that ends up getting knotted up pretty easily. Tried using another brush from the furminator brand (he absolutely hates the furminator as well) and it fell apart after having to brush constantly and be picked at due to the overwhelming amount of hair. Tried it once and it was seriously a much better experience. Wife is happy she can help tame her boy’s knots. One thing I will note that I’m somewhat skeptical about is that I just hope that the buttprocess doesn’t break as I have no idea what to do if the tool doesn’t extend out.

I have had multiple dog brushes with these types of wires before. The best part about this brush is that the wires actually go back inside the brush when you’re not using it. It makes it easy to clean so you’re not bending in the wires while you’re trying to get the hair out and it also makes it so the wires don’t get bent when they’re just in your basket or your drawer or where ever you keep your dogs brushes. Because the wires go back inside it protects them so that when you need to use it it does not scratch your dog. Excellent product highly recommend it to anyone with the pets especially who needs regular brushing!

OK, this is the best (of many!) brushes I have gotten for my dog – a yellow lab mix. She sheds like a monster, and this brush Really helps. I sit the deck and brush her for 10 minutes or so, and I have enough hair to build another dog! This brush is a must for anyone with pets that shed. We tried other brushes with plastic coated tips but they didn’t remove enough loose fur to be helpful. The size of this brush surprised me. It’s much bigger than expected. It’s also heavy. I thought it would be difficult to use a small cat, but it wasn’t terrible. The cat in the picture is a 21 year old cat that weighs about 7 pounds. She really liked the old wire brush and the self-cleaning feature this one seemed like an advantage. It does clean easily. I don’t like that it is so heavy. The head has a lot of extra size, perhaps needed for the cleaning mechanism. The size and weight make it awkward to use a small cat. It seems better suited for a larger animal.

This brush makes it so easy to clean off the hair. My cat is in shedding mode right now and needs to get brushed often. My other brush made it difficult to clean the hair off so I felt it wasn’t effectively getting all the hair out. My poor Ziggy hated it too. I was actually shocked to see he purred whenever I use this brush. And it’s purple. Who doesn’t like purple?

I have utilized this self cleaning slicker brush both cats and dogs and it works great both. The size of the brush is efficient as well so that you are maximizing your brushing area. The cleaning feature works great also – you need a little finger strength though so maybe not so good for individuals with arthritis or limited finger strength. I would recommend this item and give this product a solid 5 stars.

Our 70 lb Great Pyranees/ White Shepard mix was shedding terribly – you could literally touch her and clumps of hair would fall off of her. After we used this brush, she looked like she just came back from a professional grooming job. She usually hates being brushed, but she didn’t mind being brushed with this brush.

Works beautifully our Border-Doodle. Now her hair is short, but I am looking forward to using this her hair as it grows a bit before her next grooming appointment. Her hair is not the curly poodle type nor the smooth Border Collie, but a combinatiof both. This so helpful, and the Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush is fine enough to remove the small sticky weed seeds, yet gentle enough not to hurt her tender skin.

I bought this brush a whim prior to a beach trip with my lab. I wanted to keep the rental property as clean as possible and a shedding black lab isn’t the easiest way to do it. I LOVE this brush. We have had other brushes in the past for our more hairy breeds that have been effective, but you never can get all of the hair out. The retracting bristles this brush are so handy and it really does work like a charm. I’m easily amused and get excited every time I dump dog hair. My four year old self would never tire of this thing. 🙂 The bristles are very stiff, but it doesn’t seem to both my dog at all. I would buy again and I wouldn’t be surprised if my dad gets one for his lab after I show it to him.

Love the brush. Doesn’t seem to hurt my puppy or pull like some other similar brushes I’ve had. I am told you should buy an expensive brush as less expensive ones bend or tear the skin. No so with this brush. It’s great, and I like the fact you can push a buttand release any hair. Love it.

I like most is the easy way to clean it. My dogs really don’t like it yet. I have to be very gentle. The don’t have a thick coat so I don’t want to hurt them. I would like a brush like this with more gentle pins for our little thin haired dogs.

I am so glad that I finally got a brush for our cat, and that I managed to find this one.It is so easy to clean, and makes brushing our cat, and minimizing shedding a snap. The bristles are nice a firm which optimizes the process of getting all of the undercoat shedding, and the retracting bristles make cleaning the brush so easy. Our cat is no longer a giant ball of loose fur! Now, if only we could catch our cat to brush him everyday……

Great tool, right from the start my Dog enjoying me brushing her coat. I enjoyed the fact it was very easy to clean just push the buttand I was done. It was bigger than expected. Her skin tends to be dry and with this brush I can massage her skin and bring up the flakes from her coat. Glad I purchased this one.

One of the best brushes we have ever used my cats. They all love the feel. I have also found another use. Our cats love sleeping our couch. The only problem with that is, they leave there fur behind. We have an orange American Short hair (Niblet), he leaves a big mess all the time. So one day sitting next to that mess, I took the brush to it. It took off all the fur with no damage to the couch. So now it also plays a roll of fur removal for the couch 🙂

This is a great brush. My Golden is driving me crazy wanting to be brushed several times a day. He knows where I keep it and keeps pointing to it and nosing the drawer. It does put him into a trance, however, so I get some respite after he goes all limp and rubbery. The ease of hair removal is wonderful. This one is a keeper!

Best investment for CKCS (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels) Long haired dogs! I purchased a cheap Andis brand one (green and white and way smaller). I was pleased with that one at the time, however I’ve had that one for a year or so and it was time for a new one. After reading the reviews I am so thankful that I ordered this brush! WOW! I love everything about this brush. The way it fits in my hand, the ease of use, the push buttfeature and the easy cleaning feature! Everyone that owns a dog should get this brush! I breed Cavaliers and I’m going to recommend this to all of our puppies new families! Please note, this is a larger brush, that being said, it works better the adult Cavaliers. This is not a tiny brush. I still like it and it has been a Godsend to me and my Cavaliers!!! Thank you!

I have 4 dogs, 2 of which are fluffy. This brush has saved me so much time and energy. I used to use the fixed brushes that you have to use a separate comb to get the hair out. With one push of the buttthe bristles pull into the brush and the hair falls right off. I filled up a 13 gallgarbage can with my dogs fur. This brush is ing.

I use this my domestic medium hair cat and she loves it! I also have a furminator but I don’t think that one feels as nice to her, though it does a good job of getting rid of excess shedding. This one does a great job and she likes it a lot more!

I purchased this product and received as estimated within in a few days.I am very pleased with this brush. I have used it for four days straight every morning and am astonished how much fur is removed. I can see it is going to cut drastically the vacuuming . She enjoy the brushing which is also a plus. I particularly like the self cleaning feature. Instead of have to manually pull out the fur with just a click of the buttand a tap into the trash, voila fur is gone. I would recommend product to anyone.

My cat and I love it! I groom him daily and still found fuzzy tumbleweeds. Not anymore! He’s a short hair tiger cat who needed hairball treats. This slicker eliminated tumbleweeds and treats. While he enjoyed his daily grooming, he asks to be brushed more than once a day now. The slicker is well made, sturdy and easy to use. He and I highly recommend this product.

    The Horse Doc

Disclaimer – I’m a veterinarian, so I know way too much about different brushes and grooming implements.I have always had a love-hate relationship with slicker brushes… love because they’re effective and comfortable, and HATE because they are the absolute biggest pain in the butt to clean, especially without damaging the thin bristles, or bending them in such a way that they poke the animal uncomfortably. Now, I have a longhaired senior cat who has twice had to go under anesthesia for removal of massive hairballs. The last time, he received an Rx for a haircut from his Internal Medicine specialist. So we have been an intensive hair management program – but he hates being brushed. So I’m constantly going through various brushes and combs. My go-to is the Furminator, but my main gripes with it are that it is uncomfortable for the cat (pulls his skin excessively at times) and its blades, even the long-hair version, fill up with nearly every swipe. It is easy to clean, but when I have a squirming, annoyed cat in one hand, it is difficult to be constantly cleaning the blade out. But it absolutely pulls the most shed hair and undercoat with each swipe. This brush is 10x more comfortable for my cat, while still pulling a decent amount of shed hair. Cleaning it is ING – just press the button, pull the pad of hair off, and it doesn’t fill up until after nearly a full sessiof brushing. It is not taking off as much hair as the Furminator, but the fact that he doesn’t get instantly annoyed and thus I can brush for longer and create a more positive experience for him is important.

Finally! I’ve bought half-a-dozen brushes (incl the furminator), several which worked our last lab, but none that really helped with the two that we have now. I picked this up last week via an deal; it’s fantastic! The two labs look identical, but one has stiffer fur and one has softer hairs. This has picked up tons off of both. And the dogs seem to like it, allowing me to brush for extended periods. This is a winner!

Clever brush that does ingly well all 4 of our dogs with varied coats. We have an Alaskan Husky, 2 straight-haired Jack Russells, and a Manchester like mix with extremely thick hair. They love the brushing and the experience! The brush noticeably reduces the shedding in the house when used regularly. The brush is well made and the retractable brush bristles is a genius idea! Would suggest all pet owners with pet hair issues give this brush a try!

So easy!No more dog hair floating everywhere! The only concern I have is the longevity of the brush. Not sure if the plastic it’s made of will with stand time. But I m keeping my fingers crossed!

I love this, and so does my shepherd/colie mix. The bristles are firm, but do not pull her fur. It is so easy to clean. And after having it for a couple weeks, when Lu sees me pick it up, she sits at my feet. I’ve also noticed that if I brush her right before I’m ready to go to bed, she settles down better

This brush worked so perfectly for two long haired, large dogs. The self-cleaning buttwas super easy to use and made brushing them super easy and cleanup was quick. Best brush I’ve ever had for a dog. I think it would work well for short haired dogs as well, but the bristles are a little sharp, so be careful.

I’m impressed. We have a Samoyed, and he sheds like a radiativictim. This thing is the perfect brush for getting him to look presentable between baths and heavy-duty brushing. And he doesn’t mind it as much as he does when I use regular brushes him.

I have two Persian cats, one of whom tolerates being brushed, while the other *hates* being brushed. Her name is Saffron, and she was starting to get matted, because again, she hates being brushed. Tried the Furminator with her, mats were still there. Oddly enough, though, she will let me pick apart smaller mats by hand. At any rate, I was at the end of my rope, and had actually made an appointment to have her shaved. My sister recommended a slicker brush for her. This brush was actually a flash sale at , and was very highly rated, so I ordered one. It arrived exactly when it was scheduled to. I tried it out Saffron, and while she screamed a blue streak (did I mentishe hates being brushed? SHE HATES IT), I pulled out a mat that I thought for sure would need to be cut away, and it didn’t require too much tugging or pulling. Holy cow! The next day, I brushed her with this again. Same thing – she questioned my mother’s virtue and called me every name in the book (at least, I’m pretty sure that’s what she was doing), but again, good-sized mat came out. This brush works wonders!! Saffrwon’t need to be shaved after all. Tried it out the cat who tolerates being brushed. Only got in a couple of strokes her, before she started to get annoyed, but it pulled out enough fur to make a newborn kitten. All I need now, is to just keep after these girls with this brush. Just a couple of minutes every day, with a treat before and after. Clean up is a breeze. This brush is fabulous, I totally recommend it!

Two words – BUY IT!!!! For those of you who need a why…well, it is the only pet brush I have found to be comfortable for my dogs and cats, easy to hold and WOW, easy to CLEAN! A click of the buttlocks the brush into place and another click has the metal bristles retract, leaving you with a smooth surface to wipe away the huge mass of dog hair that has accumulated!! Seriously, this is the one product that has exceeded my expectations completely! So…BUY IT! (And no, I am not getting any kickbacks nor do I own stock in this company…it’s just when a product is THAT good, I’ve got to shout it to the mountains!!)

This works great! We have two large dogs, both of whom shed outrageously during the spring/summer. There are PILES of dog hair all over the place! This brush is more effective in cleaning out the loose hair than most we’ve found. It is easy enough for my kids to use – and it’s fun for them so the dogs are getting brushed much more often! The self-cleaning feature is awesome! You don’t have to spend forever digging all the hair out of the brush. Just brush the dog, click the button. and swipe away the hair! Quick, easy & convenient … with much smaller hair piles all around the house! 🙂

By far the best brush I’ve ever used and my dog loves to be brushed with the Herkzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush! I have a very large (100 lb. Malmute/.Shepherd) Service dog who sheds profusively. Other brushes I’ve used leave a messy work area. The Herkzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush not only keeps control of the loose top hairs, but also brushes out his messy Malmute undercoat before he sheds it out all over my hardwood floors. Using this brush makes this an effortless chore, especially the self cleaning feature. Thank you for a great product!

This is an ing additito my pet grooming tools. It is so easy to clean without wounding yourself like the non-self cleaning type. The fact you can store it without the comb out is also a plus. I have a dog that despises being brushed, but she will tolerate this brush. Highly recommend!

This really is an awesome pet brush. I have two dogs and one dog “nephew”. This brush works pretty much any dog and the best part is that it is super easy to clean. Just press the buttand wipe off the hair into the trash. It’s well-designed, feels sturdy in your hand, and looks nice. What more could you want?

This is a very nice product and very effective. It removes mats fairly gently, and does a thorough job of general grooming. One of my cats has short but very thick fur, and this does a great job him, better than other devices I’ve tried.Cleaning it is incredibly easy. The bristles emerge when you press the button, so you have to hold the buttthe whole time you are grooming, which can be tiring if you have any strength issues with your hand. I found I could use the heel of my hand as well as my thumb.Since the head is very broad, it works beautifully large areas. For smaller areas, such as my very elderly cat’s legs and belly, it’s too large to work comfortably.Overall, an excellent product. It won’t work everywhere, but the places it does work, it’s a real pleasure to use.

This is an upgrade from any other pet grooming brush I have ever owned. I never expected such a great product from a great company when spontaneously ordering a flash deal, but to my surprise this has exceeded my expectations beyond belief. Having a long-haired cat who is OCD about cleaning herself, and it being shedding season, I am very happy that I made the decisito get this. She even runs toward me when she hears it click, which is something she has never done before, and this brush removes so much more fur than any other owned. I am hoping this will lessen her struggle with hairballs and I have nothing negative to say about this product-definitely get it!

With 2 dogs that shed all the time, the Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush also helps with the undercoat so we’re not constantly vacuuming. This reasalone is well worth the price, but it also has retractable teeth, which makes cleaning a breeze. My granddaughter said she wished her brush did that. The company also contacts you personally to see if there are any problems they can help with. Great product and great company!

I love the design overall. It is very nice that the sharp bristles can be retracted for storage; I will no longer be digging around in the laundry room cabinet and make a huge patch of scratches my hand. The only reas4/5 stars because it came pre scratched. The scratches weren’t significant enough to return it, but just thought I should mentiit. (And no I did not accidentally make the scratches myself taking it out of the packaging—ie. with the staple that holds the front and back of the package together—or while opening the box itself)

I love it and so does my double coat pug. It’s effective and yet gentle enough his sensitive skin. He finds it so relaxing that he falls asleep during the brushing, something he’s never done before. Cleaning this brush is a breeze! Just one click and the hair just wipes off.

I really like this brush because it is so easy to remove the hair and throw it away. I have two cats, and one of my cats really likes the brush for a few minutes, but the wire bristles may be a little rough his skin be cause he moves around a lot while I’m brushing him. And then gets up and walks off after a few minutes of brushing, and kind of looks back at me like, “that’s just too much Mom.” My other cat is scared of the brush. It is kind of large and bulky with the self-cleaning part it, and she does not want anything to do with it. Both are short hair cats. This would probably work great for long hair animals.

Our three cats LOVE this brush! And I love it because the hair comes off so easily. We’ve tried about four different cat brushes, including the brushing mitt. But this is the keeper. Our cats adore being brushed (quite a change from the other brushes) and it’s the easier to clean. I’m getting a second one.

This is a GREAT brush. Two things I really like about it: 1.) You can get the bristles down really close to your dog’s skin and get the short winter fur that needs to be removed before summer. 2.) Once you have accumulated fur and/or hair the brush, you can retract the bristles into the brush, and the excess fur remains the smooth, outside of the brush surface. This makes for a very easy removal system. I have been working my dog s little every day for a couple weeks now. She enjoys the time, attentiand the good feeling of being groomed. I love the brush and would highly recommend it.

I like these brushes. I bought two brushes. One for myself and one for my sister. The brush was a bit larger than expected but I let the cat sniff it for a few minutes and she was OK with it. My sister’s cat was frightened of the brush, but she is currently using it to remove hair from her bedspread and furniture. She is happy with it. The retractable bristles to dislodge hair collected works great. I will purchase them again and will recommend them to others.

I like the ergonomics and solid feel of the Hertzko self cleaning slicker brush. However, it is a bit too big for my 30 lb. medium-sized Shiba mix. If you’re looking for a sturdy and well-designed brush to remove loose hair your dog and he/she is a larger dog, say 45 lbs. or more, this brush will be an excellent choice. For my dog, I will need to find a smaller slicker brush to gently comb through her undercoat. Cleanup of this brush is easy. There’s only one buttto raise the metal bristles. Just press the buttagain and the metal bristles retract fully. It’s great to have that retractable feature, so that you can just sweep the hair collected by the brush without having to rinse it under water like non-retractable slicker brushes. Definitely worth getting, just make sure it’s for a large do over 45 lbs. or it may be a bit too hard to maneuver over a smaller size dog.

My wife and I have a border collie, and a border collie/husky. Needless to say, there is hair everywhere! We’d used all variations of Furminator-style brushes, and we never seemed to gain any ground. I stumbled across this one, decided to try it, and-I wish we’d found this brush YEARS AGO. It cleans our dogs up brilliantly, and they like it!If you have a dog with an undercoat, this brush needs to be in your arsenal!

I brushed off enough cat hair to have another cat. I would recommend this brush if you want to brush your fur babies bald. It won’t actually ever happen, them being bald, but it is so satisfying to see that fur pile up next you as you spend 30 minutes brushing your cat or dog. I’m starting to think Porkins doesn’t even have any skin, she must be made entirely of fur as it NEVER ENDS. She’s completely passed out now from all the brushing, she loved it. The push buttto retract the bristles is fantastic and makes for easy clean up! Totally worth every penny, and I’m sure Porkins would agree as well, if she understood the basic concept of monetary values.

Easy to keep brush clean, easy to remove hair, and the thumb rest helps an old persto use it. Awesome product.

Love my animals, but hate the shedding this time of the year. This Self Cleaning Brush is awesome! With my other brushes and grooming tools, two swipes and I had to empty the brush and try to catch the fly-away hair. I have a short haired dog and two multi-coated long hair dogs. It worked so ingly all their coats, I can’t wait to tell all my pet-owning family and friends about it! The one I used before did not have the self cleaning feature. No more wasted time trying to get the hair off of the brush! The one is durable, easy to use and with one click, all the hair falls off of the brush. I also don’t have the fly-away hair like I did with my other slicker brush. Now my dogs line up to be groomed because it feels so good their skin and coats.

My wife and I bought this brush for our 1 year old cat Tommy, because we needed a big brush to keep up with his shedding. During the first use, Tommy was in heaven. Purring and rolling over to get his belly brushed. Then after a few minutes we quickly disposed of the hair with a push of a button. The price may seem a little high compared to most brushes, but I think the size, robustness, and ease of use make it worth it.

I have had German shedders, erm, shepherds most of my life. I have used a lot of different brushes over the years, most of which leave my wrists aching, the dogs tired of being brushed, and me trying to find a wide enough comb to remove the hair from between the bristles. Until now. This brush is the easiest to clean slicker brush I have ever used. It works wonderfully well. I’m able to brush for a long time before either I or my dog are tired or sore from the experience. In the few days I’ve had it, I’ve removed several shopping bags worth of hair (spring shed), and my wrists aren’t sore and she keeps coming back for more attention. Best brush I’ve ever used.

Used this item 2 12 lbs medium-haired cats and an 80 lbsq labrador. Worked great. The brush works like most other slicker brushes I’ve used, but being able to retract the bristles was such a nice feature. Just push the buttand the bristles retract to remove the fur, then push the buttagain and the bristles come back out. Comfortable to use. The head is a little wider and bigger than standard slickers, but I didn’t have any issues related to this.

I’m always a little shocked how much hair one small cat manages to coat over the entire apartment. It seems no amount of tape-rolling, vacuuming, or sweeping gets it all. I’ve also purchased some snazzy expensive brushes in the past, the one that has the before and after pictures where the owner manages to brush out a hairball as big as the cat. Anyway, for whatever reasmy cat hated that brush and I would have to chase after him like some kind of grooming maniac. THIS brush though, he loves – Maybe it’s the smaller teeth, maybe it’s the fact that the head portiis bigger than the average brush, maybe it’s because it was Tuesday… but he will sit there purring while I brush all the loose hair out. ing. I also like the retractable teeth feature, it’s weirdly satisfying to use.

Have used this during the spring both a short-haired dog (Australian Cattle Dog) and long-haired dog (Australian Shepherd/Border Collie Mix). We live in Denver so this was a big help in getting rid of their winter coats. The brush does a great job both dogs, although I still use a rake after brushing my long-haired dog). Both my dogs love being brushed with this brush and being able to collapse the bristles for cleaning the brush is great. Thanks for a great product.

I can’t review a purchase the first week it arrives. I don’t live a life where I stand panting at the door waiting for things to come. The brush seems to work fine. At least my cat lets me use it her. The dogs finished their spring molt and aren’t fond of being brushed so I will know more in August/September. The concept is great and seems to be easy to use.

Great solid brush. I have a Golden Retriever and not only can I get through the long hair but the curly part too. Love it! I NOTICED THAT SAME PEOPLE THINK YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE BUTTOM DOWN WHILE BRUSHING… you don’t. Just depress the buttom down until it clicks…then depress again to release the fur. Took me a minute or two to figure that out.

I have bought many different brands of slickers. This is the only one that needs something to be done to use the brush. It has a buttthat needs to be pressed. My somewhat arthritic hands had a little trouble, but it was not bad. I prefer the kind where I push something to clean. It feels strong and sturdy and was comfortable to use, more so than similar brushes I have tried. The tines feel pretty sharp. My dog was fine with that, but they seemed sharper than my other brushes.

This brush is awesome! My sis the one who told me about it and could not find it at my local pet store, so ordered it online. Can’t believe how much more hair it grabs and how easy it is to clean. I will be recommending it to all my “cat” friends. The only problem I have is with the buttthat engages, and releases, the combing mechanism – it needs to be pushed into a recessed area; I have longer than normal nails and am not as strong as I used to be, so I have to use my knuckle (or my husband) to use this feature. Would it be possible to make it with the buttin an outer position?

Love this brush!! I have a couple of LONG haired beauties and this is the best creation. Pop the buttand the hair/fur is released, wipeit off into the trash and you have a clean brush again!! I have brushed with every kind of brush, some very long hair dogs, Siberian sled dogs, Chow Chow with 6 inch long hair!, and dug out the brushes each time with comb, a real hassle. New German Shep is shedding big time and this brush removes the undercoat with almost no effort, then push the button, hairs falls in a thick mat in your hand and into the trash, done. Of course, this dog who is very large at 1 yr. old, will need constant brushing, which makes this heavy duty brush worth every penny. Try one, you can’t go wrong.

Love this dog brush! My lab and mutt shed so much… this brush is fantastic. Just brush the dog, push the buttand the hair falls out for easy disposal. I should have bought it sooner! Happy National Pet Day to my fur babies!

I just received this item in the mail yesterday and i love it! It is very easy to use and my husky/chow mix loves it as well! I did my research and ended up buying this one because the bristles actually go up at the push of a buttinstead of having the bottom piece slide up like other brushes I saw. The buttpushes all the way down and clicks to hol bristles while the hair almost just slides off. I am very satisfied with the purchase except for one thing! I bought the item two days ago for $15.99 and it is todays lightning deal for $12.40!!! It’s quite a bummer but I would actually really recommend the brush !

We have had 1 – 3 dogs with different kinds of fur/hair over the past 35 years and this is by far the best brush ever! Being retractable makes it so easy to clean. It’s currently being used a Golden Doodle and works great! Highly recommend!

This brush actually works. I have bought a number of brushes for our black lab because she get hair everywhere. No matter what brush we used she just kept shedding. We used to have to vacuum twice a day at least. Now I can say we do it every other because of his brush . love it will buy again for sure.

This brush is ing. We have a Jack Russel and we relocated to Florida, so our dog started shedding like crazy. The Hertzko Brush took it right out. After 2-3 days of brushing once a day most of the hair was brushed out instead of being everywhere…Very good product. Would buy again immediately. Best brush we used so far.

The self cleaning feature is very well done. The brush is well made, but larger and heavier than I expected. For some reasit scares the dog – maybe the odor or maybe the sandpaper sound while brushing. The cat isn’t bothered by either of those things and it works very well him.

If I would have known about this product I would not have bought 3 other brushs. This is the best slicker brush the market. One push of the buttand all the hair can be gotten rid of wow.i have an English cocker spaniel with long hair this brush is ing.

It works like a charm! Normally with our previous brush, it took quite a long time to fully brush my yellow lab, but with this product it went so much smoother and quicker. Being able to just press the buttand swipe the hair off the brush made the entire process take only a few minutes. Customer service is fantastic, as they reach out to you when you receive the product and then asked how the brush was working the next day!

What makes this a great brush is that the tines of the brush retract. This keeps them unbent and undamaged from being knocked around. And it saves your hands when reaching into your pet supply bag. As with any brush, the first time I used it, I got a couple of hands full of hair. The retractialso removed that hair so the brush is stored clean. Good device.

Absolutely love this slicker brush! I have a golden retriever and when she’s shedding, I can fill a 5 gallbucket with her fur when I brush her during those times of the year when she’s losing her coat. This brush with it’s “self-cleaning” feature is fantastic… saving time and making the chore less tedious. I wish I had bought this years ago. Buy it… you will not be disappointed.

Doesn’t do very well my cats, but I’m pretty sure it will do much better with the dogs, once I find the time to test it! Think it’s just too wide for a cat’s body, and doesn’t seem to remove much of anything. Pretty sure they swallow more loose hair in a day than this removes, which might be due to their need to watch it, and hopefully twist and turn enough to grab hold of it to see what it’s all about.

I’m loving our new slicker brush! We have 4 Yorkies with various coats. One with curly fur, one with a fine straight coat and 2 with very thick straight coats. This brush helps me with the daily task of grooming. It really helps get their tangles out. I especially like how the brush is made so that I can whisk away the accumulated fur after brushing. It’s a great design!

This is an awesome brush! I have a golden retriever who is shedding in a major way right now. When I click the buttto expose the tines of the brush, he knows it’s time to be brushed! Click the buttagain and the tines go back into the brush base, releasing all the fur. It’s so easy to clean. I’ve demonstrated and recommended this brush to several of my friends who own dogs and they were ed at how easy this brush is to use and clean. The brush fits well in your hand and is well made. I would definitely buy it again!

We received this brush last night. I looked down and there’s a cat next to me so I took it out of the package and it was love at first sight. She had an excellent brushing and afterward, went right to sleep. I like the size of the head this so you’re able to cover more area in one pass. Since this is new, I go easy when brushing since the metal pins are quite sharp and I don’t want to hurt their scalp. The only difficulty I had was the push buttto remove the hair. It was just a little stiff and slightly difficult to push down. I’m hoping that with time it will loosen up a bit. Bottom line, I’m happy with this purchase.

I got this for my two dogs and cat. I have a yorkie-poo, a poo-chin and a cat that sheds like crazy (never had cat that she’d so much). This brush is ing! The two dogs don’t shed, but my poochin has a double coat and she can get little mats if we don’t keep up her haircuts. This brush goes thru their coats and pulls all the loose hair out. Even my cat loves being brushed with it. It collects the hair within the bristles and when its time to get rid of the hair you just push the buttand it’s in nice clump that’s easy to hold and throw away. Lovery his brush!

I love many things about this brush: The ease of keeping the excess hair from floating all over. How easy it is to clean. Comfortable in both left or right hands. This is now my favorite and only brush – both my cat and dog prefer this brush over the previous because the bristles don’t cause them discomfort. I only wish this brush came in a smaller size – for my small hands and because my cat and dog are the same size and it is too large for around my cat and dog’s face and neck.

I’ve used the Hertzko slicker brush for 1 week my 1 yr old toy poodle. I looked into proper grooming products after finding matted hair behind one of his ears. First I comb, then use the brush before bed nightly. His coat is soft and manageable. I’m not sure if he likes the feel, but I’m sure it doesn’t hurt because he doesn’t attempt to run away during brushing. Actually, he seems relaxed. I recommend this product for easy brushing of dogs with curly double-coats.

I love this brush. It’s so easy to use and comfortable in my hand. It holds onto all the hair until you push a buttand then all the hair easily comes off and the bristles are left completely clean. No hair flying around the house as you brush. Our young golden retriever loves it too. We’ve always used a slicker brush for our goldens but the retractable bristles this one make it our new favorite. No more pricked fingers as we try to clean the brush. It stores nicely too with the bristles away. We highly recommend it.

This is one of my best purchases. My dog sheds to bad and I hate brushing him outside in the winter. This brush holds (almost all) of his hair while brushing. You have to empty it after a few minutes but it’s so easy to get hair out. Simply push the buttand the hair falls right into the garbage! I totally wish I had bought this years ago! Thanks!

It’s a pleasure to say a few words about a fantastic product I just received through A1 Pro Deals the Marketplace. I wasn’t expecting anything as great as this Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker brush to be. It is very well made and not flimsy as I thought it would be. Its self-cleaning functimakes it a breeze to groom my 130 pound long hair purebred German Shepherd. I thought he would be squeamish when I started using it him but he seemed to turn his head towards me and say,” hey dad this is great”. Believe me when I say, had I known about this product before, I would’ve gotten it long ago. And the icing the cake was his unbelievable price. Ziggy and I say thank you A1 Pro Deals and Hertzko for providing it and for its fast delivery. It actually came a few days before I expected to arrive.Al Matracht, Miami Springs Florida.

This is the best slicker brush for my doggies I have ever owned. It removes the hair and does NOT hurt them like others I have owned. Best of all you click it and it closes up and the hair is easily removed. No more pricked fingers. I love this and would recommend it to anyone. Worth every penny and was a good price to boot. By the way lots of times I use a slicker brush rugs to remove hair that my vacuum won’t get!

This works exactly as it should. My cat loves it, too. This brush makes it so easy to clean off the hair. No more picking at the brush or using a comb to clean out the hair. After brushing her for a while I release the buttand the bristles go back inside leaving just the hair. I have already passed the informatiabout this brush to a friend with a cat.

Hair falls right off brush when pins are retracted. We have a Leonberger (large furry dog) and a short-haired St. Bernard. We were pleasantly surprised that this brush worked for both dogs. Also, when we were done brushing, we would retract the pins and the hair would simply fall off. No more scraping our hands trying to get all the hair out. The brush is a reasonable weight and seems reasonably well made. If it falls apart, I will come back and say so, but right now it seems great!

I bought this to use my medium-haired cat and my chocolate lab. I originally bought a $65 furminator that my lab chewed to pieces in a week. At first I was disappointed because I thought I had to hold the buttdown the entire time I brushed, which got complicated because if I let go, the hair would fly everywhere. I finally figured out all I had to do was push the buttdown until it clicked, and I was all set to brush. It seemed to pick up hair just fine, I don’t press very hard because the bristles seem like it might hurt a cat. Kind of bulky but it does the job I need it to do for a cheap price.

Just to preface this, my 6 month old Shiba Inu is terrified of every single brush besides the Zoom Groom (since it almost looks like one of her toys). So you can imagine how much of a WIN this is when she will FINALLY sit still for this slicker brush! It doesn’t seem too harsh her and I tried it my arm first to see how much pressure to apply. The technology to remove the hair easily from the brush with the click of a buttis INGENIOUS and I am in love with this brush!

This product does work great. The only drawback I can find is that you have to keep your finger the buttthe whole time you are brushing your dog – maybe there was something I didn’t see to make it hold – but my dog, who does NOT love to be brushed, like this one a whole lot better. Lighter touch and very great at cleaning out hair.

My dogs love this brush; even my rotten little Corgi who hates to be brushed will let me brush him with this new slicker brush. The tines contain the loose hair until I release the buttand simply dump the loose hair into the trash. What a joy to not have to manipulate the brush tines to remove the hair. I’ve had it for 4 days now, and my dogs look better, my house is cleaner, and my trash is full of dog hair.

My dog is a Rottweiler, Black Lab and German Shepherd mix. This brush works great at getting the undercoat and is very gently. He loves being brushed with this brush. As with all wire brushed tho you don’t want to brush too hard. A nice light to medium pressure was enough to get at the undercoat well. My favorite part of the brush is cleaning the hair out. One quick click of a button, the bristles retract and the hair just falls off. No digging hair out of the brush.

Have used a couple of times my Yorkie with really long hair. Works great love how easy it is to clean off hair. Only downside is buttto engage bristles is rather stiff. Hopefully this will loosen up after a little more use. Tried back of my hand and happy at how soft for metal bristles it felt my hand.

I’ve recently adopted a shelter dog and ordered the Hertzko Self Cleaning brush because of the self cleaning claim. My 14 month old dog, Cami, has been slow to warm to it because I think she not used to getting brushed. But after several tries, she’s finally enjoying it. It seems to be very sturdy, and the cleaning feature is great! With the push of a button, the comb retracts and the fur just falls off. My only concern is how long it might last, it’s made of plastic, and although seems heavy-duty, it seems like cracking could be a problem. Time will tell, but for now I think it’s a great product!

This is the best pet brush I have ever owned. I have three cats and have went through many brushes over the years. This one is the best one I have found. The cats enjoy being brushed with this. It gets to their undercoat and removes hair that would otherwise end up as a hairball my carpet. The best feature is the push butthair release. It does hang up once in a while, but I merely tap it (gently) and the bristles pop into the base of the brush and the hair comes right off. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has pets that need brushing. Well worth the money.

No matter how often I groom one of my cats, every year or so he manages to get himself all tangled up. No amount of brushing, combing, or anything else will tame his matted fur except a trip to the vet. Last time, he had to be shaved. Imagine his embarrassment! I purchased this Hertzko product as a last resort. I really like the way that it works, and it’s so helpful to be able to push a buttand just wipe the fur off the bottom of the brush. I’m not going to get this furry mess straightened out overnight, but I am making progress. I’m hopeful that I’ve found the solutito this problem. I see this as an excellent product, especially if you use it consistently. If I’d had this brush from the beginning, perhaps we wouldn’t be in this mess again!

This brush is ingly convenient. Not only is it good for brushing the dog, but it lifts the hair off of a short napped rug like magic. Not sure how it would do higher nap rug or carpet. I wish there was a larger one. I’d buy that for sure. Highly recommend.

I didn’t realize how ing this brush was until I started using it.You press the buttin, brush the hell fur off of your beast of the underworld, press the buttagain over a trash can and VOILA. Gone are the days where you have to burn your brush every time you can’t get the massive amount of fur out of it. My dogs are short haired dogs but they still shed like crazy! I have found this product to be very helpful in 1) keeping their coats shiny and healthy and 2) reducing the amount of shedding! My dogs can be rather sensitive to brushing. They don’t seem to mind at all when I use this product. I quite like the easy ability to clean the brush. It works well and helps contain the hair until it can be deposited directly into the trash. Other products I’ve used would get hair built up between the bristles that I would have to sit and pick out- time consuming and if you didn’t do this other products were less effective than when new. Glad to have an easy tool my dogs don’t mind.

This was a great idea. I purchased it for my short haired cat. Her hair does have a little thickness to it but she’s not a long haired cat. She was used to a vintage boars hair brush so she had to get used to the noise. This brush is made of plastic moving parts and metal needles so it rattles slightly. I was concerned that the metal “needles” might be too harsh her skin but they seem to be gentle enough. The needles do have a little give to them. The brush does a good job of getting the fine under layer of shedding hair and it’s a breeze to clean. Much nicer than pulling hair out of the bristles of a brush. Just retract the needles and swipe the hair away.

This product is really, really great. I was so excited to use it that I overlooked instructions about “clicking” the button. I was depressing it as I brushed, and thought it silly that it didn’t have a better mechanism my hand was exhausted). However, when I saw those instructions about pressing the buttand clicking the bristles in the “stay” position, that “aha” moment made it a 5-star product for me.I have a Shetland sheepdog and three cats. Great product. My dog is a mix of Bernese Mountain and Chow. The amount of fur that he leaks is breathtaking. I bought this brush to, well, brush him. And I do and it works fine, but as with every brush, he hates it and the task seems insurmountable. What I’m really digging so far is that I realized I can use the brush as a low-tech vacuum cleaner. It’s the best cleaning implement ever for his formidable fur. I just drag the teeth along my rug and everything comes up. Everything! I’ve literally had to use my hand or shoe in the past to scrape up his fur because vacuums, dustbusters, whatever — they can’t pull up his fur. I am very pleased. Even if I wind up having to replace this brush every few months because I’m not using it the “correct” way, it’s well worth the investment.

This is an incredibly easy-to-use brush and I love the easy push of a buttto remove the hair. We have one dog and four cats, and it works equally well all five of them. Our dog has long fur which can get matted if not brushed often, and it’s not an onerous task with this excellent product. It means so much to me when a product lives up to its descriptias this one does. I highly recommend it and so do my dog and cats!

I’ve had 2 furminators but one broke and I.lost the other. Tired of spending $35+ my dog combs, I got this and it works just as well. The clicking for releasing the pet pair is more work than the furminator, but it makes up for it by being bigger and thus grabbing more fur at once.Weird note. This thing does a great job of also making my dogs hair feel soft again, unless I comb him in a slightly random pattern and then his fur felt like straw

Great little brush. I like the way it operates. I accidentally ordered 2 of them but rather than return the 2nd one as planned, I decided to keep it so I could have one in both places where we tend to sit and relax outdoors with the dogs. Only issue – and my dogs both love to be brushed – is that the brush is very fine needle like points and it requires a very light touch. If I use the normal amount of pressure that I do with our other dog brushes both of our dogs (German Sheperds) object. Even so, I am very pleased with the purchase and would recommend.

Trimmed underneath my cat’s tail😊. Worked very nicely for my needs. My cat was a unhappy camper and was hissing at me. Placed clipper underneath his tail with all that long fur. A flick of my wrist and a long strip of fur flew into the air and landed the carpet. My Ragdoll cat was missing a long strip of fur. Not all was where I intended to clip😮. But, one angry cat later, project completed. Motor is quiet. Just a ultra sensitive area to be clipped.

We received the box from today, Sunday(!!) I opened the box and the packaging that the brush came in. Then I tried brushing our newly adopted, 11 year old dog, that we just took home (& met) yesterday. He LOVED being brushed, which is so awesome! The tool is comfortable to hold, it’s light and sturdy, and it’s easy to use while brushing the dog. He is part poodle, part terrier and the bristles seemed perfect for his soft, mostly curly hair. I used the brush again today today, with an organic spray conditioner, and my dog was happy to come over and lay down to be brushed. It’s pretty easy to use the buttto lock in, or retract the bristles. I HIGHLY recommend this grooming brush!

  286. Rated 5 out of 5

This is a quality product and my dogs really enjoy the brushings. The mechanism that retracts the bristles is the best I’ve encountered a brush like this. It is sturdy, good quality and the plastic frame/buttare more dense (sturdy) than lesser quality products. The buttmechanism spring (or however it works under the button) is reliable, it works every time and doesn’t stick. The mechanism fully retracts the bristles, which also are robust and good quality. The individual bristle diameter seems to be thicker than the bristles of like products. Also, the mechanism locks the bristles in place every time, whereas with past similar products the locking mechanism malfunctions and doesn’t lock the bristles in or out. Also similar, previously purchased brushes, I’ve experienced the bristles turning in various directions after initial use, which ultimately can scratch the dog and make fully retracting the bristles impossible. When the brush comes out now, the dogs line up for a brushing and one patiently waits while the other is being brushed. Since I absolutely cannot bear to leave my fur babies outside, this brush helps me limit the amount of loose fur (and necessary cleaning) that comes inside with them. Initially, I combed about six full brushes of fur from each dog, but now a daily brushing culls one full brush per dog. (Kinda grosses me out to think that much fur was coming inside with them!) The dogs show me where they want to be brushed by strategically moving during the brushing. One caution…keep the brush head flat…if it’s angled, I think the bristles hurt the dog’s skin. The dogs act like they’re getting a massage when the bristles are flat their skin…I’m kinda jealous. Also, use only light pressure when brushing dog bellies; heavy pressure may hurt them.I liked this brush so much, I bought one for my sister’s Corgi and it works like a charm…that dog sheds like crazy. He’s now maneuvering to maximize his “massage” too. Since the weather was bad at her house, I brushed him inside. There were a few loose hairs the carpet when I was done, and I just used the brush to comb them off the carpet; again when the brush head is flat, it applies pressure evenly, so the brush didn’t even snag the carpet. The back-tilted bristles very effectively captured the loose fur from the carpet. I definitely recommend this brush!

Brush works very well. The buttlocks and unlocks the metal slicker bristles. When the bristles are withdrawn, the hair is left behind and is 100% easy to remove, unlike my other brush with nylon/plastic bristles that need to be washed and combed to remove the cat hair. It seems to get the hair from the undercoat more than the top, so I think it will help to preempt shedding, The only issue is that the brush is wider than it needs to be for a cat, as I think this is intended to be both for cats and dogs.

FANTASTIC. We’ve used all sorts of brushes over the past 15 years for a Lab who sheds constantly. The brush is great with the shedding as well as retracts to remove clumps of hair rather than to have it fly all over the yard. First saw it used by a professional dog washer and so glad we have our own now!

This product rocks!!!! I was looking for a brush to keep my 2 year old Goldendoodle free from mats between his every-8-week groomings and this is it!!! He loves, loves, loves being brushed with this brush and the clean-up is so easy. I am more than pleased with this product – I’ve been using all types of products from steel combs to slicker brushes – but no more. This is it! He will stand perfectly still and let me brush him both directions and even hands me his paws so I can do his front legs. Thank you for giving us longer-coated dog owners a product that actually does what it says it will do.

The brush works just as advertised. I have two middle aged dogs who aren’t used to regular brushing since they normally go to the groomer to get short coats. With the cold winter, though, their hair has been growing out, and so the need for brushing. They were fine with the whole process except their legs, which I suspect has to do with the metal bristles. Other than that, the grooming was great and the brush worked great with the retractable bristles.

I bought this slicker brush for my long-haired Corgis (Fluffies). The brush is well constructed, easy to use, and quite easy to clean, which is good as my dogs shed a lot of hair. I appreciate the thick grip which is easy my hands. It does a good job getting loose hair from the undercoat though my dogs don’t much like when I hit a snag or mat so I have to be careful with how much pressure I use when brushing, especially their bellies where the hair is thinner. I still keep my trusty comb and scissors handy to deal with problem areas. The key is consistent brushing to keep their coats well groomed. I’ll give this product 5 stars as it was a good price, arrived time, is easy for me to hold, and was as advertised and does the job intended.

Great brush. Its like the Dysattachment, but I think gentler my Lab. He loves getting brushed with this. It gets the loose hair, and massages his skin to the point where he is almost drooling or going into a daze. The buttis great to releasing the captured hair, where I just snap my wrist and it falls out rather than pulling it out. The brush is light, and covers a good area. Very glad I purchased this and recommend it to any long haired dog owner.

EXCELLENT! I was apprehensive at first as all brush makers claim theirs is best. I have 3 of them…..all supposedly the best. This is by far the best. Easy grooming as it is smooth and gentle my Corgi but really gets down deep to groom properly. But best of all, and very time saving is the easy clean feature. This is such a time saver as I dread the time-consuming process of removing hair to continue grooming. This brush eliminates all that.

So much fur comes out when seasons are changing, and this definitely helps gather it before it ends up the sofas, carpet, our clothes, etc. Having the brush bristles retract for easy cleaning after each stroke is such a life-saver for me! It saves my fingertips from getting poked by the bristles when trying to clear the fur out of the brush between strokes. Was most definitely worth the investment, I’m very happy with my purchase, and would recommend this brush to anybody with pets that shed a lot!

Works well. It doesn’t get as much hair as my other 2 brushes but it does get plenty and I can use this brush more often because the cats love it. The other two brushes tend to pull or rip more hair out and this seems stimulating and pleasant. The cleaning method is great. No more grabbing the hair out with one hand.. all you do is press the buttand the bristles retract into the head, leaving the clump of hair for easily disposal. If your animal has fine, thin hair this won’t get as much hair but it will stimulate the coat and skin which is beneficial. As stated, it won’t get as much volume as the other brushes (in my case); but I can use it more often so the end result is similar. If you need to get the deep down matted hair you should still use the clawed brushes that are made for those. Actually you should have one or two different brushes for specific needs.

I love everything about this brush. It’s well made, dogs look ing after being brushed, and they hate it less than others I have used. It cleans easily with a click of the button. Will never go back to using one that has to be manually cleaned. It’s definitely a 5 star product because it’s pretty close to perfect. The only problem I have is the size. I have toy poodles (6 & 9 lbs.) and it’s difficult to do their legs because of being too big. Do not recommend it for toys. Wish company would make one slightly smaller.

Wish I’d bought this much sooner. My cat overgrooms so she has a cone during the day but still sheds crazy. This brush gets big big clumps of fur with easy cleanup.

I’m so glad I don’t have to stab myself repeatedly cleaning out the cat brush every time now! The body of it is a little bulky, but considering what it does, that’s not unreasonable- just something to get more accustomed to. It is pretty lightweight, all things considered too! I’m Really glad i made this purchase, I’ve only been using it for a few weeks so I can’t say how sturdy it is in the long run, but as it is right now: would buy again!

I was skeptical as living out in the country we have seen a lot of products that have failed the practical use test. This one works from the start. I pushed, and combed and then released and the hair that was shedding and grass and grass burs … all came out, but the real test was when I released the buttwould it clean itself or leave the bristles out there. I released the button, the metal bristles retracted and the “stuff” wiped off into the trash can. YAHOO!! The icing the cake was if you push the buttall the way, the bristles lock out, and then another push and they retract back into the brush leaving the hair, etc the surface. I have not used this with wet dogs only dry. I would guess you don’t want mud or muck the comb so let the doggies dry completely. But, for my purpose it works great. I would buy again, and I may just so I can put them by each door. No more grass bur’s in the carpet for bare-feet. Yeah!!

The 5 stars are from my Akita. Although I had another brush with similar features different brand. I liked it because the tines were longer and I could get more hair before having to remove. However, MY Akita would try to avoid me when I used it. After I got this one, I brushed him a couple times BOY DOES HE SHED!!! but found that he did NOT run away. The tines this one must be a fair bit kinder as the third time I got it out he actually came to me holding the brush out to him. YOU cannot get much better a 5 stars than that considering it does push the packed hair off very nicely. Thank you for this product.

This brush is so effective at helping deal with shedding and Ive noticed my cats coat is healthier overall after I started using this. My guess is it helps distribute the cat’s natural oils better than most deshedders.

This really does work. I love it. I do not have to get all the hair out of the brush and it last longer than one brush stroke. And it is removed in one little patch.. It does not hurt my dogs either.

Wonderful new product. Does a great job of removing shedding hair. It can be used both outside and yes, inside, which is where I use it now due to cold weather. Just make sure there is a trash receptacle by your side. We have a lab and it removes hair with ease and our dog seems to enjoy being brushed. I recommend it highly. For all those saying you must hold buttdown constantly WRONG When it feels like it stops push. A little harder and it will click in locked position. When ready to clean push down again and it releases and bristles retract Wipe off and repeat .(I found this out by accident.Just happened to push down harder one time and bingo it locked!!! )

This is awesome. I’ve used it several times already and love it. The first time I was wondering if I needed to hold the buttdown all the time while using it. The next time I ended up pushing harder the buttwhich locked it into place…which caused a big smile. Before I got this I was using hair brush for my cat and it did alright but after using this, there is no comparison. It gets the hair and when you’re done, all you have to do is release the buttand the teeth retract and you’re able to just drop the hair off it. Definitely awesome. I’m glad I got it and would recommend it to anyone.

My 18 year old cat, who HATES being brushed and can no longer reach the center of her back to clean (so she has mats), LOVES this brush! LOVES it! And it WORKS. I can’t believe the amount of hair we have gotten off her. She purrs when we brush her now. Of course it will take some time to get the one thick mat off her, but she allows us to groom her for a good 15-20 minutes before she is irritated. Her coat feels so much silkier and she appears more comfortable. This really is an ing tool.

I was skeptical about whether this brush — like the others — would end up in the discard box. I have several pet hair brushes and other than this one, hate them all. This one is the only one that seems to work our bushy Maine cocat and his majestic burr picker-upper.tail. Best of all, to clean it I just press the buttand all the fur is released straight into the trash. One of the reviewers mentioned that the size is a little large. I’m fine with it, but I really wouldn’t mind if Hertzko made a smaller versibecause I’d buy that too to get into the smaller hard-to-reach areas like the cat’s underside.

Having a coat blowing monster of a Black Lab, I have bought several brushes over the years from “big box” and Pet stores. I thought,Yeah – Yeah ,when I read the glowing reviews of this one . As it was a lightening deal I snatched one up. Damn! Am I glad i did! It removes the hair, and with the push of a button, it drops the hair off the brush! No more fiddling with a comb to get the hair out of the brush! Makes removing a blown coat quick and easy. Get one! Y’all won’t be sorry!

I left feedback before my sshowed me that the buttto release the fur can be pressed harder to keep the brushes out. At 82 my thumb is not as strong as years ago and without directions to show, I just didn’t press hard enough and couldn’t keep the brushes extended with just the pressure of my thumb. I am pleased with how it works now and sincerely apologize for being so negative before.

I love this brush for its ease of cleaning – it’s absolutely ing. However the brush head is a bit large to negotiate the sensitive head and neck areas a cat. It is perfect for my cat’s back and sides – and she loves it. It really breaks up any mats and grabs the undercoat – where most of the shedding seems to come from. However, my old non-self-cleaning brush with a smaller, triangular head works better for her head, neck and throat areas. This brush would be perfect for a dog.

Unlike other slicker brushes, the surface this one remains smooth unless you activate the switch to make the tines surface. This should prevent the sharp tines from getting bent and sticking out at odd angles. It is extremely easy to clean.

We have a Newfoundland and 2 long hair cats, also a basket full of brushes, rakes, dematters, etc. This brush replaces them all and does it with no pulling or dirty looks from pets. It is also kind to your wrist. After using it the first time, I easily removed a neat rectangle of hair that did not fly all over the place. The birds will have a lot of nesting material in the spring. The cats could care less if they are being brushed orJust stroked. I would give this a 10 if possible. Extremely pleased with this purchase.

Works much better than I expected. My German Shepherd, Hans, has such a thick coat and undercoat and sheds like mad. I’ve basically given up trying to keep up with it. This brush is easy to use, and really pulls the loose hair away! I couldn’t believe how much fur I got the first time I brushed him with it. He likes it much better than the shop vac 😉 The only tiny issue I’ve had is the buttsticks when I try to retract the bristles to get the fur off. Probably because it gets too full….

I don’t know who invented the self-cleaning slicker brush, but nonetheless, I hold them in high esteem. Because these are so easy to use, pets get brushed a more regular basis, so their coats are soft and shiny. I haven’t found they eliminate the need for a Furminator (brand intended), especially during shedding season, but the self-cleaning slicker brushes are fantastic for daily use. One of our cats loves being slicker brushed so much that just hearing the click of the bristle buttcauses her to come running, plop down and surrender to the brush. As per this particular slicker brush, I find it to be excellent quality. It’s very sturdy and has a padded grip. This product is identical in constructito the Innopaw brand slicker brush–it’s just a different color.

I have a long-haired male Ragdoll and a medium-hair length female Ragdoll. The male sheds constantly and often gets matted under his chin, below his ears, “armpits,” and back end. I have only had this slicker brush for about a week. This product helps pick up the loose hair and is so—— easy to clean. No more having to touch the wire slicker brush ends! When I pull this brush out daily, my male cat rolls over and starts kneading. I think he really likes it! He closes his eyes and begins to purring! I use this in conjunctiwith another product to remove the matted hair before it gets too bad.

Love this brush! Our furry boys sometimes don’t like brushes but they love this one & line up, for their turn. We have an Maine Cocat & his hair is thick & long. He normally doesn’t like to be brushed but loves this one……just a push of a butt& the spikes pop out. When finished….no need to manually pull the hair out of the brush & make a mess……just a quick swipe across the smooth, flat bottom & hair all gone into a trash can….no fuss, no muss!

I have three cats, two short hairs and a fluffy medium hair. My big short hair guy loves this brush, and so does my fluffy one. The third is rather feral, so he hasn’t tried it yet. I love the fact it is so easy to clean, and it gets a lot of hair. The bristles aren’t too long either. It is a great cat brush. FYI, it is a lot bigger than most slicker brushes I have used before. So people with large hands might like more than smaller handed people.I think some cat lovers my list are going to get this as a gift.

My cat hated to be brushed until I bought this brush! Now, I just click the loud buttthat releases the hair and she comes running to be groomed. Looking at it the computer, I thought it might be too big and clunky for a cat, but it’s a great fit. By clicking the button, you retract or extend the bristles. I do wonder how long this mechanism will last. I also wonder if the bristles might bend and have trouble retracting to release the hair. Still, I love this brush so much that if it fails, I’ll buy another just like it. My cat and I love it!

Where has this thing been all my life?!I shall begin by saying that I am a cat lover. Have owned many cats over my lifetime. Many are/were long-haired.For years I have been using various slicker brushes to keep shedding hair at bay. While they work very well, the worst part of using them is that you have to pick all the hair out of the brush after use. Yich! So, recently, when I was looking for a new slicker brush for my cat, I came across this one by Hertzko. When it arrived I was a little displeased that it was bigger than brushes I have used in the past. I also wasn’t a fan of the purple color. However, as I pressed down the buttat the top of the handle and watched the brush needles appeared out of nowhere, I became quite intrigued. Then I began brushing my cat. The brush picked up huge clumps of shedding hair from the cat’s body. Meanwhile, my cat purrr’d in delight of the action. It was good to know that this brush was not hurting her.But here’s the best part of the experience….I simply pressed the butttop of the handle — the needles/wires disappeared back into the brush — and a mound of hair fell to the floor. No more manually cleaning the brush. No more picking out hair from the needles/wires.I have never used something like this before, and I have to tell you, it’s quite ing.Terrific cat comb. It really makes the combing process much more enjoyable for you and your cat.

I have a Yellow Lab that has a coat like a wolf. I needed a real sturdy brush that would get rid of his shedding. This is the first brush I ever bought that did the trick. He is now looking like a lab again. I am so glad I bought 2 of these brushes. Not only do they take the hair off, the bristles retract so that I don’t get stabbed ever again. I really hope everybody give this brush a chance as you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IN IN ANY WAY WITH IT. IT works.. !!!! keep this brush the market.Sam A

This brush has been a god send. We don’t know what our dog is mixed with because she was a rescue but she has a thick blond undercoat that when she sheds leaves hair literally everywhere. I’ve used other brushes and it was difficult to get the hair out so I could keep brushing. With this it’s a much faster process so I can get a lot more done before she starts to get restless. Plus she seems happier and that’s what matters most to me as a pet parent.

My cats hated the last self cleaning brush that I had, but they love this one, and boy does it do the trick! Expect to get allllllll that hair quickly while adding sheen by distributing their skin’s natural moisture. It’s just the right size for all three of my cats who are small, medium and large– all with different fur types too. This brush is well-rounded and worked perfectly all of them, and they all enjoy the feel. The bristles aren’t uncomfortable their kitty skin and yet the brush does wonders. The size is perfect! I would know! And it worked all three! The brush is cumphy the hands and the grip is helpful. Cleanup is simple and clean. Shipping was fast and came as advertsied. Great brush and I highly recommend it! Also, there are a lot of sheers available for cats (My medium sized cat is Maine Koon) and while they also work great, you can knick the cat’s skin, they make a mess, you can accidently create bald spots and they don’t improve the animal’s coat because there is no redistributiof natural skin oil. Go with this!

This is by far the best dog grooming brush we have purchased! Works wonderfully! It gets a lot of hair and the design to release the hair is genius. Definitely recommend this brush! We have a miniature all white American Eskimo dog and she sheds constantly. So we use this brush every day and it helps tremendously!

I received this brush in good order a few days ago and have used it a few times. I especially bought this because of the self cleaning feature. Previous sticker brushes have lost wire bristles or they have mutilated over time. I especially didn’t like getting pricked cleaning it and resorted to a comb to remove the hair from the brush. We will see over time how the wire holds up and continues to go in and out of the housing. So far so good. I have 3 dogs and two are Golden Retrievers so you can imagine all the hair I take off when they shed. I have given this five stars so far and make any revisions if this brush fails in an unreasonable time. The only downside that I see so far is some of hair tend to clog the holes and the wire doesn’t fully retract until I start to remove the hair. This brush is absolutely preferable to a straight sticker brush. We will just have to see how well the brush holds up to the thick hair of Golden Retrievers. My third dog is short-haired so not as big of a problem. Hope this review helps.

Have been trying so many types of brushes and combs for my two cats. To be honest they weren’t unhappy but I was, because cleaning out the mess of hair was the worst part for me. I finally found something that we both love. My two boys purr when they’re brushed and I smile cos there’s no cleaning involved. When the bristols retract the hair is just in one bundle. Thank you very much Creator of theBrush. Definitely recommend

I bought this to use my corgi puppy and it’s been great. At first, my puppy was scared of it and kept running away because of the clicking noise and sharp bristles but after getting her used to it, letting her sniff it, and heavily rewarding her with treats, now every time I break it out she doesn’t mind it. It’s really good at getting the stray fur in the undercoat of my corgi. I still see a lot of “corgi hair tumbleweeds” floating around my house but at least this mitigates the problem by a lot.

I have two cats, yah so what, you wanna fight about it? One cat is constantly shedding. Winter, summer it doesn’t matter. He sheds like no tomorrow. I had a brush I was using but I knew I needed finer teeth it.This brush is bigger than I imagined, though the pictures do it justice. It’s easy to use, and my cat loves, or at least tolerates, being brushed with it. A few brushes and it’s ready to be emptied again. It catches a lot of hair.My other cat however, has a full thick coat but even after 10 or so brushes with this, has little hair to spare. All in all, this is a fantastic brush for my cat, and I couldn’t imagine it not working another animal who sheds a lot. The buttmakes its cleanup easy, just push the buttagain and the glob of hair falls in your trash bin.

I’ve tried numerous brushes my maltipoo trying to avoid all of the matting that he seems to get every day – even though I keep him cut fairly short. He often spends the day playing with several other dogs which doesn’t help and I found myself getting really frustrated trying to brush and comb him and he was pretty miserable when he got the mats taken out professionally every 6 weeks.I finally asked the groomer what she recommended and it was a slicker brush similar to this one. I had actually thought it looked like it would be pretty painful for my dog so I avoided it and it turns out it was just the opposite – because we use it every day and it works so quickly it keeps his wooly hair unmatted and he actually seems to like it.I had previously had a shih-tzu had never had a problem with this. That dog had silky hair but he also got groomed and cut every two weeks so I really had very little grooming duties my own, but it’s far different with this maltipoo. If you have a dog with similar fluffy hair, I heartily recommend this. I finish off the nightly grooming with a comb which turns out to be a snap after using this slicker brush. The fact that it’s self-cleaning just by releasing the buttis just an added plus.Note – if you have any issues with your hands such as arthritis or anything else that can cause you pain or motility problems, it might be a little tricky using this since you have to push down the buttand keep it pressed to expose the wires while you’re grooming your pet. If this is an issue for you, you might want to get a regular slicker brush and just clean it manually the old-fashioned way with a comb.

My dog’s coat has never looked so great! I can’t believe how much hair comes off! And not my carpet! My mom has a bucket of brushes and combs she uses for grooming and I had recently used every one of them. I don’t need to borrow anymore brushes any longer. This does it all!! It gets the thick undercoat, and top shedding and whatever thats inbetween, it does it all!! Even her short hair paws! I love that I can brush her inside my house and not have to worry about hair getting everywhere like with a lot of my mom’s dog brushes did. I have a 6 going 7 year old lab. Wish I had found this much sooner, was a steal for the price!! I also loved the functiof simply clicking the buttand then you instantly and easily brush it off into a trash can. Makes the job super easy. Another huge bonus is that my dog used to not like getting brushed. When she see’s this brush she instantly starts wagging her tail, a testament to how ing this brush is I just had to write it a good review!

This has been life changing! I have a German Shepard who pretty much sheds year round and when he blows his winter coat…OMG! There are rolling hair balls everywhere that make our house look like a desert full of tumble weeds. I try to stay top of brushing him but the worst part seems to be then getting the hair off whatever tool I used. This slicker is ing! Not only does it get a crazy amount of hair, the self cleaning feature is the bomb! He loves the way it feels and I love not getting all that grossness under my nails trying to clean out the brush or injuring myself trying to clean the slicker. I absolutely love this and have told all my ‘dog friends’ about it

The furminator is still the best at removing the undercoat, but most of my cats don’t enjoy how invasive it is…This Product though is A LOT less invasive for my cats, and they will all allow me to properly get their backs and sides with this device… In fact most (3 of my 4 cats) enjoy me using this their backs and will lay down for me to brush their backs..

This one doesn’t scrape our dog like some of the other ones, and it’s probably the easiest to take hair out with the press of the buttof any dog brushes we have ever owned. Our dog has thick hair so I tried using this while bathing him which was successful but very difficult to pull through his hair so I waited till he was somewhat dry and it went through like a breeze!Pros:Great product, love the functionality (By far the best hair release mechanism I’ve used), the dog enjoys it as opposed to some of the other brush/combs I have used in the past.I couldn’t get a picture of him while I was using it, but I posted one so at least you can visualize the thickness of his hair!

I have two dogs- one loves this brush, the other hates it. My lab mix, who loves it, has a thick coat and she stands there happily while I brush her. My shepherd mix has a thin coat and very sensitive skin. She hates this brush. Since the bristles are metal, and slightly sharp, be sure to take your dog’s coat style into consideration- it isn’t a good fit for thin coated dogs. That said, I personally love this brush. It really holds onto the hair when you are using it- it doesn’t go flying around loose- which is great if you like to brush your dog indoors. The push butthair release works like a charm- push the button, the bristles go into the brush completely, allowing you to collect the hair in one big lump. It’s very cool.

The best dog fur removal gadget ever. Our German Shepard “produces” large quantity of fine fur. Up to now we used various implements to comb the fur out and prevent the ever present deposit of bunches of fur carpets, furniture and our clothing. None of these worked satisfactorily..The Hertzko works like a miracle! It brushes the fine and rough fur out and then dispose it in one tightly packed bunch!top of all this, our dog loves it!

I have purchased brushes and other grooming tools in the past and was never particularly impressed(nor were my cats) . When I received this brush I was not overly optimistic that it would be any different but I was very wrong. The brush works beautifully and the ease of removing the hair by the retracting blades is awesome. My cat that sheds the most has filled a gallziplock 1/3 of the way with 3 grooming sessions since I got this and for the first time in years I can pet him without mounds of hair being left in my hand. You will not be sorry if you purchase this wonderful grooming tool

I bought this product for all of my cats (thick long-haired persians and silky long-haired siamese mixes) and it has worked great both types of coats. The brush is very easy to use and my pets enjoy being brushed all over from neck to tail. It has not caused any pain or discomfort to them at all, even the belly and hind legs and works better than the regular metal comb I have always used in the past. The brush removes large quantities of fur, leaving their coats thinner and softer and helps with matting which I have also purchased for. The best part is cleanup by being able to push a button, retract the bristles, wipe off the fur and continue brushing within seconds, not giving your pet the time to run away.

SO easy to use! I use this for my 14lb cat and although it looks a little intimidating with the bristles, my cat does love it. I do find it a little the large side even for my fat cat, I probably could’ve bought something a little smaller. With just a push of the button, the bristles come out, push it again and the bristles retract leaving just the hair behind. Just wipe off into the trash. Stores away neatly since the bristles retract. It works GREAT in getting rid of extra cat hair. The hair doesn’t stick the handle, unlike some other brushes with the rubber handles that attract dust and hair.

I love this brush. In the past i bred cocker spaniels, and used a regular slicker brush, which was very hard to clean, had to use the comb to loosen the hair etc.. This brush is ing. just a click to retract the bristles and one wipe and all the hair is off the brush. Great Brush and well worth the money. Love it! Update 7/30/16 My dog is a short haired one, i just got a long haired dog from rescue and I’m so dissapointed. The very first time i ran this brush through the new dog’s coat, it busted..Seems the glue came apart, and one of the screws holding it together had broken plastic around it. Hubby tried to glue it back with gorilla glue, but then the bristles wouldn’t come out and retract…so it’s now in the garbage…Very dissapointed as i really loved the brush..

This brush is really good for grooming my lab. It gets out a Tof hair (disgusting), which is very important since I have allergies to dogs. This is a great way of removing the hair before it ends up in my nose. The functiis great with the push buttrelease (although you typically have to push it several times to release a large clump). My only concern is that you have to be VERY careful when brushing the dog, one wrong turn & they’ll let off a yelp like you never want!

He actually lets me use this some times! I have a long haired cat, part main coon, and his hind quarters appear to be matted. I hope that with this I can table them some day. And I love the way the self cleaning brush works to self clean. I would like to add that he now lets me use it him regularly. In additito cleaning him, it also cleans the hair off of sheets and the carpet that lines his scratching post. He sleeps in my bed so before I wash the sheets, I brush them with this brush to eliminate clogging up the machine or the drains. I hope to be able to use it other things also. I think I will buy another, one for him and one for her things he lays on.

Genius! Obsessed with this dog brush. I was worried that the self cleaning feature wouldn’t work, but it cleans the hair out from every bristle and doesn’t get clogged. The wires are firm and tough mats, but springy and gentle skin. I have a bichon/shitzu mix with medium length hair, and it’s a constant struggle to find a comb that will cut through the mats without pulling her fine hair. The brush is big enough that it didn’t take long to do her whole body, but small enough to get under her legs easily. Definitely worth spending money on. I like to be frugal, but this dog brush is a great investment! Everyone I know who has a dog is getting one of these for Christmas. 🙂

GREAT product! We bought this because, as we all know, cats shed A LOT!! We have bought a lot of brushes saying that they will collect a lot of hair one just one swipe. Well, they didn’t and we kept getting frustrated. Our cats LOVED to be groomed, but we were getting upset over how little other cat brushes would pull hair from their coats. This brush here is AWESOME! Not only does it grab A LOT of hair, but you just push the buttand all the collected hair comes off the brush. Now we just have a small trash can next to us when grooming and click the buttto let the collected hair fall into the waste can. So easy and NO mess of hair flying around like all those other brushes did. Ya’ll soooo need to get this brush. NO MESS NO FUSS!!!!

Very NICE SIZE and Handle. But Kiana my Siberian Devil will love to check handle and destroy. Pins really retract well and the hair comes off very very easy. Might grab another to be ready for DESTRUCTO PUPPY!

Who new I would be so excited over a dog brush?? I just got the brush a few hours ago and have already used it and fallen in love! I have 3 dogs: a Sheltie with a thick double coat and looong hair, a Jack Russel Terrier mix with meduim length wiry hair, and a Rottie/Shepard/Akita mix with short smooth hair. I read the reviews before I ordered it and crossed my fingers that it would work for all three dogs… and it does! The Sheltie was a bit more difficult because her hair is so thick and poofy but it got A LOT of her hair out. The Terrier doesn’t shed much but the brush helped remove the tangles and grass (she’s an avid grass roller haha). The Rottie/Shepard/Akita mix has always been hard to brush… The brushes I’ve used in the past have either been too prickly and made him uncomfortable or been too soft (almost like a horse brush) and spread the hair around more than brushing it out. This brush was wonderful for his fur too! It is a little the prickly side but even brushing lightly (not pressing into his skin) took out a lot of his excess fur! The easy clean buttis wonderful! It makes it really quick to dispose of the hair but I am a bit concerned that some of the shorter hairs might end up getting stuck in the holes and causing a problem… If that does happen, I’m pretty sure a quick blast from my air compressor with do the trick to get rid of any stuck hair. I highly recommend this product especially if you have multiple animals with different types of hair!

To be clear, Molly the muttsky likes it the best of all our rake collection. Molly is a five year old rescued black mixed breed with lots of pit, labrador, shepherd, can with only her four paws coat our entire apartment with fine hair every day. We have only had the brush for a week, but our savings vacuum bags should make a meaningful improvement in our standard of living. They painlessly (for me) remove gobs of hair and leave the smallest mess of any other rake we have tried. I am an early adopter and keep trying the new. Our Furminator was the previous champ, but the Hertzko is paws down, the best yet.Marshall Coyle
