I got this for my long-haired husky, and it does the job in certain areas but not all over the place. The furminator, a pin/palm brush for back matts, and a rolling prong rake is still essential to really get the mat out before you take this to it…. this just makes sure you got all of it, but it’s useful in making sure it won’t come back.

This is perfect for my long hair cat Max. I was using a small “Bamboo Brand” underfur comb, but he really hated it because the teeth are too close together and hurt when their were snaggles. This brush/rake gives you the optiof two different widths and although he’s still not nuts about grooming, it does the job and acceptable to him. I just have to use it gently. Max is 17 lbs and a beautiful gray nebalung mix, so I’ve got a lot of territory to cover!!! I would recommend!! Ginger/Chicago

I received your 2 sided undercoat rake yesterday! And I have 10 huskies. .. I have used just about every other kind of bush and rake with no luck my huskies! But with your rake I was able to do all my huskies in the same day! And still have have the energy to do more if need be. …. never before would I be able to do so! And they all came out looking so beautiful! Your rake worked better then anything I have ever used…. even any trip to the groomers! I love your rake! it is a great product and i love the handel it, it makes brushing very comfortable for me as well as for my huskies! Thank you! for such a great product…… a mom of 10 huskies! and you know how much huskies shed! LOL

This grooming rake is ing. We have a long-haired cat who loves for his head and neck to be combed/brushed but is not a fan of us brushing other places. He is only 1 and he has been doing a good job of maintaining his coat, but I noticed a few knots his underside near the the shoulder of his front paws – this GROOMING RAKE IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN ANYTHING GROOMING TOOL EVER USED!!!. I first raked it my arms to make sure that it wasn’t sharp or would hurt his skin. This tool is so effective that it is easier to maintain this beautiful fluffy appearance – the displeasure of having his stomach and body groomed is better because it is far less frequent and much less discomfort. I can see that the cat is torn – he likes around his head and neck a lot, but has to be fussy. Even when he really is unhappy during grooming and I let him go, he is back at my side minutes later. The same can not be said for one of the big stainless combs with wide teeth for long-haired animals; once when using the comb he freaked out while the comb was stuck in a knotted area – he managed to get away from me with the 7-inch comb still in his coat (he indoors only) and we heard the comb hit the ceramic tile shortly after takeoff, which was rather funny/crazy to see but it was likely a more painful way to get to the knot.

Zowie and Wow. I have the world’s most beautiful and most cantakarous long-haired cat. Her long hair seems to come with tape at the end … it stubbornly sticks to carpets and clothes with an irwill. She loathes grooming stuff and lets you know it loudly and sometimes even. The rake arrived just as she was starting off for a nap, but I wanted to try it, so I got in about twenty good long rakes before she settled into her bed. She fussed not once and I got out from her coat this ING amount of fur … simply ing. She didn’t even flinch or pull away, just made if plain that this was Nap Time, Thank You. I am looking forward to a much less furry lifestyle.

We have 2 cats with different types of fur. We purchased a brush a year ago when we adopted the cats from the Animal Shelter. And it worked ok for JJ our cat with the longer hair. Not so much for Mariah who has hair like a rabbit. JJ had terrible mats his sides close to his tail and we were trying everything to remove them. He is not the type of cat you can give a bath. Found this tool and it is fantastic. Removed all the mats JJ and does a great job Mariah’s thick hair removing all the loose hairs. It has 2 sides, one for the mats and one to groom. Wish I had found this before when we first adopted our babies.

I have a LOT of pets. Most do well with a regular brush, but I have a pomchi with a super thick undercoat and a cat who also has an ingly thick undercoat, like a husky! this doesn’t do great with super long thick hair my pomchi, but it works great everyone else! It gets out so much hair and the cats all like it. Works especially well a fine/long haired kitty, all the short haired kitties (and pulls some hairs I can’t seem to get from the regular brush), and my thick coated short haired kitty. Def recommend this brush and wish I had it sooner!

How well this works for your pet really depends fur type. I attached 2 pictures to show how much fur I gathered in a single brush stroke from a cat with a thick undercoat, and how little I gathered in a single brush stroke from a cat without a thick undercoat. This rake is specifically for the undercoat, so I only recommend it for pets with a thick undercoat. For my male cat, Zeke, I tried bristle brushes, shedding combs, flea combs, shedding gloves, a bizarre purple silicone groomer in the shape of a cat- none of them took off more than a few loose strands. He has sensitive skin, so after a few ineffectual swipes of a regular brush, he’d scamper off to sulk under a piece of furniture. So much fur would come off him every time I pet him, and yet the small horde of brushes I’ve bought over the years in an attempt to find one that works him could barely get any of that loose fur off him. His coat is a light, fluffy, feathery texture that seems resistant to most brushes. When the undercoat rake came up as a recommended item for me, I went ahead and added it to my cart despite having low expectations that it would work Zeke. I am so glad I did! I had zero expectations for a positive outcome when I took the rake out of it’s packaging. I took one experimental swipe at Zeke while he was too distracted to realize I had a brush in my hand, and then I stared in shock at the tufts of gray fur that had been successfully pulled from his undercoat. Zeke still dislikes being brushed, but he actually tolerates this rake pretty well. I don’t think this rake pulls any less than any other brush I’ve tried him. Rather, I believe that he is willing to tolerate the rake because he can actually feel the relief from having all the loose fur taken off him. I highly recommend this item for use pets with thick undercoats! You won’t regret the purchase!

Dematting is a work in progress with my long-haired cat. I kind of wish the cutting optiwas available both sides. But this is better than anything else I have tried. Eventually, the cat will be dematted and I will keep up with it. The good thing — which has nothing to do with the product — is that my cat hasn’t ever had any hairballs. A miracle itself.

This comb is ing! It’s a lifesaver!! We have a bichand he hates being dematted. Unfortunately he get’s matted very easily so we have to put him through the pain of dematting every few days. Poor things yelps when we demat him 🙁 This comb helps a lot! When we demat him, he seems to be in 80% less pain! I was researching other similar combs but like the fact that this one is smooth at the bottom so that I don’t have to worry about mistakenly hurting my pup.

I have a Siberian Forrest cat that sheds twice a year. We were using a human comb the cat until it recently broke. The cat started to mat up. This comb performs beyond expectations. It took out all the undercoat which I didn’t know my cat had. My cat really likes this comb. He purrs while we comb him. I can work out the knots without hurting my cat. I highly recommend this for pets with long hair.

My dogs love this. As for mats, it took a lot to even get a little one out. It was easier to just give my dog a big hair cut because it was making her uncomfortable. As for brushing however, it did a great job! It gets a lot of the undercoat out and my dog loved every second of it. Every time I would stop for just a few seconds she would just look at me and wait for me to keep brushing her and as soas I would start again she would almost snore.

I’m new to the pet grooming game and I recently rescued a Persian cat of which needs constant grooming. He came with some matting and I tried scissors and even pet hair clippers but was afraid I’d cut his skin. This tool worked as advertised and myself and my cat Fatty are very pleased.

This was quite frankly an impulse buy. I saw it in my recommendations, it reminded me that it was that time of the year again where my cats will be shedding that winter coat so I put it in my cart and checked out, not expecting much from it. I own cats who CANNOT sit still for brushing. I’ve tried so many methods to get rid of their winter undercoats that cause them so many awful hair balls. My cats refuse to be still while I brush them (they’re active), so for the limited amount of time I have them still in my lap (or if I catch them sleeping) the brush gets the job done, FAST, and doesn’t hurt them. I highly recommend it, I’ve even told my pet parent friends about it.

We recently welcomed a German Shepherd into our home and, even with daily brushing with a regular dog brush, fur was flying all day, every day. This rake came today and the amount of hair pulled out in the five minutes I was able to use it before rain came, it was astounding. It was a pile about half the size of our big dog. (I would not do this inside unless absolutely necessary, it pulls off SO much hair.)So with five minutes of use, I give this an enthusiastic 5 star rating and I cannot wait to get back out there and finish brushing our girl!

I have a beautiful long haired cat named Shortstop who does not appreciate being held down while my husband & I attempt to cut her hair with our cordless groomer. Something about the buzzing sound possibly. But she also isn’t too thrilled with that massive body of hair during the summer months (even though she never steps a whisker outdoors). This wonderful item has been working out very well. I use both sides of the comb depending the area and degree of thickness of her mane. I run it gently thru her and just wipe off of the comb as I go (my choice because it makes cleanup a lot easier for me).Knots are a thing of the past, and the rest of her hair just goes along with them. I’ve been able to thin out her coat with the simple motiof brushing her down. Very smooth operation. It’s very generous of the seller to forward e-info grooming in additito the little paw-print id tag (which comes a small chain). Outstanding presentation! All in all this is a terrific grooming & maintenance appliance. No battery to charge and no cord to get tangled. Shortstop is happy – Mom & Dad are too!

This is my long haired beast, Dutch. She’s the first dog I’ve had that’s had long hair. That being said, this was my 6th or 7th dog brush purchase. Beacause I’ve been looking for something that takes max amount of undercoat in little time, and so she doesn’t fight me. The furmanator worked fine and got a good amount of hair off Dutch. But she fought me the whole time and it would poke her and make her uncomfortable. This brush! Its eballs!!! She barely fought me because it didn’t poke her or hurt her. And I could even brush her fast because I didn’t have to worry about sharp tines sticking her. typically it would take me 20 minutes to get off Dutch with another brush what it took me 10 minutes to get off her with this one. So if you’re like me and have bought a tof brushes, looking for the right solution… then you’ve found it!

I have a long haired kitty whose fur is prone to mat. Unfortunately, she hates to be groomed, so keeping her looking her best is not fun for either of us. Thankfully, she doesn’t mind this comb at all. The widely spaced teeth go through the mats without painful pulling, while the closely spaced teeth get rid of lots of loose hair in her undercoat. She’s happy, and so am I. Thank you!

I love the product BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, my 10 year old kitty loves it! I have always combed her long, thick coat, but now she will come lay at my feet, lay her side and meows at me until I give her a few strokes.

I love this product! I have two large Maine Cocats that have very different types of fur. One is very shaggy looking and often has matting. With this tool, within 5 minutes, I was able to extract more undercoat hair that I ever have before! A mound of hair! Even the matting can be removed with a little care. This cat usually loves to be brushed but was a little angry with this brushing but, if I was careful, she was patient. Our other cat’s fur is much more like a normal house cat and if I would brush him, not much would come out. With this brush, I also got out a handful of hair! It is worth the money, and of very good quality.

We have a long haired cat and we have been brushing her daily with a regular brush(which she didn’t like). We were starting to get mats though and I wanted something to help cut them out. I had a three-blade style dematting comb, but it was too much work and it was only making the cat upset. a whim I picked this tool and I love it. I haven’t seen this much fur/hair an animal since I helped a friend brush her Husky. Attached is a picture of the first few minutes of brushing (along with a cat tax picture). The brush has two sides to it, one has 9 bladed teeth and the other has 17. The picture is from just the 9 teeth side the first pass. The volume of fur coming out was crazy and after I took the picture I used the other side of the brush and pulled out almost as much again. The cat, who hates to be brushed normally, loves this rake. Now every other day I bring out the rake and she is happy to be groomed. Now I pull a little bit of fur each day, but she is already much happier and her fur is much better.

I have 2 Newfoundlands and the summer shed had just begun. They shed faster than my daily vacuuming can keep up with, but the summer shed made it infinitely worse. I wish this brush were wider with more teeth to the comb, but it is still a great product. In about an hour I had pulled off a pile of hair as big as my 150lb puppy. He is happier and cooler, and I am happy that all that fur is not my floors, clothes, furniture, and walls!

I have a 20 year old cat that can no longer go to the groomer due to seziures brought by the noise from the clippers (yes, even the “silent” ones). This brush was a lifesaver! She hates being brushed & trying to get her belly especially was dang near impossible. Next thing I know, her whole belly had lots of pretty bad mats. Although she still hates being brushed, we did little 5 minute sessions, and the mats came off so easy! No pulling too hard, no over working the same spots. Even for a cat that wasn’t excsactly having a great time, it was wonderful! I’ve tried every kind of soft brush, rake brush, mat combs, even silent clippers over the years. However, this rake-brush has by far been THE BEST at removing cat mats!I also use it my 5 year old Norwegian Forest cat, holy hair!!!I really don’t think you will be disappointed if you try it. I am so happy I bought this and wish I knew about it sooner!

Super happy with this purchase!I’ve never used one of these before, but a kitty I petsit for had developed some SERIOUS matting that looked uncomfortable for her and became even worse my 2nd day with her, so I got this ASAP while the family were vacay.I was trying to avoid the inevitable scissor bald spot butchering I inevitably end up doing with my own longhair cat, and I think this tool really did wonders!I had no idea how it would go & kind of thought it would take hours and/or the mats wouldn’t even come out but it only took 10-15min (not including some break time for kitty comfort), left minimal razor marks in the fur, and left majority of the good fur behind when I was half expecting bald patches. It was awesome & happy to keep using it for my own cat!

I have the furminator that I use at times but wanted something for the between times. Used it my cattle dog’s coat as they have hair that is thicker and more wirey in the back quarters. It did an excellent job and I wasn’t as afraid of anything cutting her if I accidently pressed to hard or she moved around. I had a very large pile of hair very quickly and she didn’t seem to mind me using it her. I also used it my long haired angora mix cat that has an undercoat that tangles then mats in certain places if I don’t catch it early enough. I and was able to detangle an area that she is prone to matting without any difficulty….actually it was easy. I am very pleased with this product and recommend trying it. It will make grooming much easier or at least it did for me!!!

and his mane drags the ground. Though I trim, brush and rake him often, fur balls roll by like tumbleweeds when we walk through the house. It is insane. I had washed and brushed the dog, with a straight tine undercoat rake, two days before this tool arrived. I thought I had gotten a lot of hair out with the first brushing. After using this rake, for the first time ever, we can rub the dog with our hands and not send any loose hairs flying. Maybe seeing less hair around the house. I won’t know what to do with the extra time! He also seemed more comfortable with this tool and actually fell asleep while I was using it. So much hair came off in the second brushing with this tool, that I now have a fire-pit full of dog hair that I am waiting to ignite when our nightmare neighbors decide to bother us again 😉

This grooming brush is great! We have a cat who came from a cat hoarder home. He is a very long haired cat and he does not always let us brush him and he hardly grooms himself. He started to get small mats all over in his fur. A regular brush wasn’t doing the trick and he was starting to get very upset with us due to the pain. This brush allowed us to go over each mat a couple of times and they came out! We use this both cats now and it gets out all of the loose hair so I don’t have to deal with it my furniture.

We have four cats and two dogs. One dog is a Golden Retriever and one cat has long snarly hair. The other four have easy coats to maintain. So I bought this for the two tough ones. I now have the product about a week and have used it each pet at least two or three times before doing this rating. I have been fighting to keep the cat tangle free for years with a metal bristled slicker brush. Every now and then I have to cut out a knot because the slicker cannot handle it. This new tool is fantastic. Neither pet dislikes being attended to. In fact, I think it might even tickle rather than abrade! The cat sits still and allows me to groom her, which she almost never did with the slicker. It moves well through the hair but takes a little getting used to so you can smoothly stroke through the hair. Works great the Golden too. The biggest challenge is capturing all the removed hair that has static and wants to stick to things. So I recommend grooming a towel or some cover to allow grabbing the hair. Will not go back to the slicker – this is THE product for me. Why did it take ten years to find!

My very grumpy cat had some matting in the rear and the average comb or brush was not doing the job. This (and a pair of pet sheers) got all the matts out. I only needed the sheers to snip off the ends if the knots and this brush did the rest. Be careful it can snag tho. Now that all the knits are out i continue to use this brush to keep it from mattimg again and it works great. There are 2 sides. The side to get the knots out and the side to keep up thinning out the gross fur and dander

This comb is ing!Minii, is our most wild cat, she hates to be held, brushed, pet….You get the idea, don’t touch me is what I should have named her. After a few minutes and a small battle, she settled down and enjoyed the combing.Got one side done and I’ve gotten a huge pile of hair off of her already.I’ve also ran it over the other cats coats and was surprised how much fur came off.Right now 3 cats are trying to get in my lap for more hair removal.Very well made, this thing is ing!Think my gal pal needs one for her dogs.Thank you for the great product!Cheers

This is by far the best tool I’ve ever purchased. It actually gets to my cat’s thick undercoat. I have the biggest Furminator but it doesn’t begin to touch the fine undercoat fur. Thanks for making such a great product! I’m very pleased and so is Rudy!

I already have an arsenal of grooming supplies and didn’t think this would make much of a difference but wow. I couldn’t believe how much hair it got off my Aussie. Good for tangles, deshedding the under coat, especially those tricky knots and matts behind the ears.I have two patient dogs who do well with grooming and don’t mind this at all, but some dogs may not like the slight pull and tug required to get tough tangles out. The two-sided feature is really nice.A good rule of thumb is to start with the wide side, if the brush gets stuck, stop tugging in that directiand lift up and away from the dog, then repeat that until the brush moves easily through the spot. Then switch to the narrower side and repeat. Typically any knots that this thing can’t get I will have to cut with scissors but it does a pretty good job.

This rake is wonderful. It pulls out loose hair so efficiently. One side has fewer hooks than the other and is useful for starting the coat. After you have removed a good bit of hair with that side you can flip over to the other side where the hooks are closer together and that works well for pulling off even more hair. The rake is sturdy, well made and fairly comfortable to use. The only thing that I could complain about is that the fur is difficult to remove from the rake. As long as a lot of fur collects it it’s easy to remove as a clump but when you start getting only a little fur off the dog it becomes more difficult to remove from the rake. Just FYI I recently read about a trick to help with the ease of brushing/removing loose fur and I tried it with this rake. If you spray leave in conditioner, fur detangler or shed reducing spray before you begin grooming (before or after a bath, in between baths, wet or dry coat) and as you work it will help in several ways. It helps the tool to move more smoothly with less drag as you brush through the coat. It also helps keep the fur from floating around in the air. The fur comes off with less pulling the dog and as a bonus these sprays usually smell really nice and help deodorize the dog. It also makes them nice and shiny. (The little charm that came with it this rake is awfully cute.)

I have an elderly cat who has a difficult time grooming herself. Although we brush frequently, previously if we went a few days without brushing, she would end up with tangles and mats. With this tool, it gets all of the extra fur out and keeps her from matting even when we have to go a few days without brushing. This tool did an ing job and was gentle. She actually seems to enjoy being brushed now and we don’t struggle with matting.Plus it is comfortable for me to use. Definitely a 5 star purchase.

The picture shown is one of many clumps of undercoat was removed from a dog that gets combed two to three times a day. That pile is only TWO strokes! Quality product with high end materials. This works!!! We have a long hair black cat who’s hair tangles and knots up. He also has horrible anxiety problems! So taking him to a groomer was out of the question. I was able to comb all through his hair. He purred and rolled over. I think he is incredibly grateful to have the knots gone. I imagine they hurt and pull at his skin.Update!!! Is it possible for something to be too good?!! Our cat still loves it!

I don’t write many reviews and this one is even unsolicited. My elderly neighbor wasn’t able to take good care of her long hair cat and she bagan to pelt. (One huge mat) I adopted her and began the process shaving her carefully with a grooming shaver. I am far from a professional, but YouTube is a lifesaver. I got most of the mat (90%) off but she tired of this after doing parts of it over 2 days and was getting very feisty. I ordered this comb and WOW! She loves it, and her hair is starting to look better after one comb out. I learned that when I would get to a mat, to gently wiggle the comb and slowly pull the hair straight out, instead of at a combing angle, she let me know if I was doing it wrong. She has two areas I need to get at again tomorrow, but her hair! Her coat is looking shiny, removing all of the old under coat. This is probably the most useful tool I have ever purchased for my animals. I’m buying another, just incase this one gets lost. I combed my dogs as well. They have a clipper cut, but I still got a fair amount of undercoat from them as well. Just go slow. Initially it seemed like a love/hate deal but within 5 minutes Miss Diva couldn’t get enough. I am so happy. Update. Photos of day 4. I am still getting hair out of her undercoat. One swipe through her coat still gets at least this much in the comb. The pile doubled before we were done for the night. She LOVES it.

I really like what this comb has done with the matted hair around my Napoleons neck area. This is not a fast process by no means regardless of what tool you use. I first brushed his hair with the normal cat brush that I have through out all areas of my cat which will pick up some loose hair. I then proceeded to use the grooming tool and wow, it removed so much more hair from all areas of my cat and his coat looked a lot smoother and easier to use the cat brush him afterwards. I then started to work the seriously matted hair his neck. I would gently comb in all directions of a matted area and as I was doing that it would slowly start removing big chunk of matted hair. I would then stop for a little bit and then after an hour I would then start to work another area. I am very happy with this comb and as I am writing this it is still a work in progress but this and a little patients the job will be done.
